I am so very disappointed! I thought I had found a Lamb only canned food for our cat Buddy that didn't have any other meat/protein source in it. I bought a case of Nutri Source Lamb & Lamb Liver select on-line. I went to the Nutri Source website to copy and paste the ingredients listed for this food to some notes I am typing up when we take Buddy to the allergy specialist in a few weeks. The "old" style labeled cans show no turkey, just lamb. That's why I bought it! The new labeled cans show turkey. I have messaged them to verify and to find out if I can at least use up the cans with the old label without risking turkey (if not I will donate them to the local pet food pantry). I want to keep him off all poultry/fowl until we know what he is allergic to. Who knows? May be the pumpkin. We had a cat years ago that was allergic to pea.
He started itching off chicken & pumpkin cat food (premium, chicken & pumpkin only). I put him on Rabbit LID and Lamb. The only lamb I could find locally had a little tuna in it (listed behind the lamb and lamb broth). I tried Hounds & Gatos and he hated it. I do have a couple samples of other lamb only foods coming.
I also asked them to clarify if their pork canned is still all pork. The old and the new labels only show pork. I will slowly add it into his diet to replace the lamb if he likes it and if I need to. I am afraid to use it until they respond.
He is doing so much better and the scratching is subsiding.
