I am so very disappointed! I thought I had found a Lamb only canned food for our cat Buddy that didn't have any other meat/protein source in it. I bought a case of Nutri Source Lamb & Lamb Liver select on-line. I went to the Nutri Source website to copy and paste the ingredients listed for this food to some notes I am typing up when we take Buddy to the allergy specialist in a few weeks. The "old" style labeled cans show no turkey, just lamb. That's why I bought it! The new labeled cans show turkey. I have messaged them to verify and to find out if I can at least use up the cans with the old label without risking turkey (if not I will donate them to the local pet food pantry). I want to keep him off all poultry/fowl until we know what he is allergic to. Who knows? May be the pumpkin. We had a cat years ago that was allergic to pea.

He started itching off chicken & pumpkin cat food (premium, chicken & pumpkin only). I put him on Rabbit LID and Lamb. The only lamb I could find locally had a little tuna in it (listed behind the lamb and lamb broth). I tried Hounds & Gatos and he hated it. I do have a couple samples of other lamb only foods coming.

I also asked them to clarify if their pork canned is still all pork. The old and the new labels only show pork. I will slowly add it into his diet to replace the lamb if he likes it and if I need to. I am afraid to use it until they respond.

He is doing so much better and the scratching is subsiding.

So far so good! Pretty sure his food allergies are chicken related. His scratching started diminishing a few days after we took him off chicken cat food. He is on Instinct LID Rabbit that I top with a bit of Soulistic Lamb (unfortunately it has tuna in it as 3rd ingredient). I alternate with Meat Mates Lamb. His ears have healed and his fur is all grown back on them. When fall pollen season started he started scratching the base of his ears and his chest. The vet said that is usually environmental and if I wanted to, we could test. He didn't think it was fleas (he started specializing in dermatology in the 80's - lots of experience). Buddy does have environmental allergies - allergic to lots of grasses, among other things, which we are addressing with the allergy/dermatology vet. Doing the allergy desensitization shot regime since he is so young. I do not want to have to use steroids when his environmental allergies act up, except in extreme and limited instances. We are in Florida, and our back yard boarders a nature conservancy area, so lots and lots of pollen. I just didn't feel comfortable with the Nutri Source - there answer to me email was just to "pat". I didn't want to take a chance on their pork canned food. I do wipe him down if we go out on the screen porch, and run a hepa filter in our bedroom. There is no way to not let him out with us - he will just yell and yell and paw at the door. Vet said there is no really good testing available for food allergies. Elimination and a period on hypoallergenic food is the only way to deal with that. Environmental, yes, testing can be worth it. Thank you for asking!

We tried hounds & gatos lamb. Buddy hated it. I am using Meat Mates Lamb. He likes it alot! Here are the ingredients: Lamb, Water Sufficient for Processing, Lamb Tripe, Lamb Heart, Lamb Lung, Lamb Liver, Lamb Spleen, Lamb Kidney, Calcium Carbonate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Fish Oil, Flaxseed Flakes, Dried Kelp, Taurine, Salt, Vitamin E Supplement, Magnesium Oxide, Zinc Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement. Chewy sells it. Feline Natural has a lamb only, but Buddy didn't like that one either.

We are safe! We are in the panhandle. No rain at all, in fact, we are approaching drought conditions. Thank you for asking.
