I know it’s expected that pregnant cats stop eating leading up to giving birth, but the mama cat I’m fostering (first time fostering a pregnant cat) is supposed to give birth any day now and still has a strong appetite. Is that normal?
Yes, it can be. I have had Queens eat right up until hours before birthing. She may be half-starved too and making up for it. More important signs of close birth are the dropping of the kittens (she will appear smaller) and any discharge.
