Nose Peeling Off

My cat’s nose was red for a couple of days and yesterday she tried jumping up on a suitcase which I believe is what caused the top of her nose to peel off but I’m not sure. I made a vet appointment but for now all I can do is just wait. Does anyone have an idea what this is?

Welcome to the forum. I’m sorry your cat is having a problem.

My Bassie had something like this n her nose. It kept peeling and looking inflamed. The vet was concerned about squamous cell carcinoma (because she had that under her chin) so she had it biopsied and it turned out to be inflammation. We never found out the cause because it got better on its own.

I would have a vet look at it.

Thank you, I’m really worried but hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be anything serious. She is also sneezing so it might just be an infection but we’ll see.

Calicivirus can cause nose lesions. Or she may have burned it or scraped it. It's good you have a vet appointment. Let us know what the vet says!
