In August our neighbor moved to Kansas. My wife said she thought they had booted their cat out, just before climbing in the moving van. She was right. It took about three weeks for the cat- an adolescent showing signs of malnutrition- to show up at our door.

I got out our unused feral cat house, heated cat bowl, and feral feeding station, for her. She has made herself at home on our deck. She has a tidy home, and lots of love. She is a real snuggle kitty. She would move in with us if we did not already have 3 bonded cats, who are extremely happy.

I simply do not understand why people abandon their pets. Especially ones that were obviously loved by the children in their home.

I don't understand it either and I think it is absolutely horrible that someone would do that. Thank you so much for taking care of this little abandoned cat. Although you can't take her in, perhaps you could find a good home for her with a friend or neighbor? It seems a shame that such a tame, loving kitty can't live indoors if at all possible.

Thank you for taking care of this kitty. Some people are not made to have pets.

Maybe your bonded cats will accept this kitty over time as they'll know that you are feeding another cat outside your house.
