Hi

I have a month old pure breed burmese kitten. He was neutered almost a month ago, and I'm concerned that the wound isn't healing properly - the area is dark and brown, and it doesn't appear that it's healed over - Other than that he's a happy little lad. There isn't any point in waiting to see what happens is there..? I'm guessing I should be taking him to the vet to be checked out - has anyone had any experience with post-op care problems..? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Welcome

I think you made a mistake in writing , he cant be a month old and be neuter on birth can he ??? And yes , you really need to let the vet look at him to make sure he is ok .

I did make a mistake - apologies - he is amost 6 months old now, and was neutered just over a month ago - I'm just not sure how the area should be looking once it's healed properly - will have to pop him off to the vet to make sure.

I would agree that if he were a month old and neutered a month ago that would be strange.

I would take him to the vet on Tuesday and have him checked out.
