New Kitten Skin Problems

Hi all! I recently adopted a kitten from a local shelter. I’ve had him for exactly a week and each day I’m noticing a different spot has scabs or grey dry patchy skin. First I noticed above his eye, assuming he was stress scratching. He also has a patchy area on his back leg, on his ear, above his front shoulder area, one on his paw that almost feels like a lump and what looks like a scab under his chin. Has he developed an infection? Is this ring worm?

I'd definitely take him into a vet. The stuff right in front of his ears could be a food allergy (I believe chicken and fish are very common food allergens in cats—my last cat was allergic to the latter and had scabs like that), but some of the other stuff looks very concerning, especially the wounds on his chin and left foreleg.

It COULD be ringworm. But you'll need a vet to check him, as it could be any number of other things (including food allergies), as well. Let us know what the vet says, please! We'll fret about him if you don't. He looks like a cutie, and I know he'll bring you a lot of joy once this is taken care of!

Got back from the vet. The DR does think it’s ringworm. Unfortunately ringworm testing is so expensive!!! But luckily we can treat anyways… hoping nothing else pops up and that it resolves in the next 2-3 weeks
