We r about to bring in a new addition to our family home. We already have 3 grown cats. Two males and a female. They get along great with each other, but don't take well to other cats. But my sister in law has 4 kittens to give away in about a week. We want to get one really bad. But I'm extremely worried about introducing it to our other cats. What is the best way to go about it so it goes smoothly?

There is a great articles here on the site.  I plead with you to have the kitty checked out for FeLV before you let your other cats near him.  Kitties with FeLV cannot be in the same home with healthy cats unless they are kept in separate areas of the house.  Here is some information about FeLV:

Here is one that is just general:  http://www.thecatsite.com/a/bringing-home-a-new-cat

Good Luck!  I hope it works out for you!  Most cats are not crazy about other cats but if you are patient and introduce them slowly, they usually will tolerate a newbie.   Mine have never been buddies but they all co-exist in the same home.

So when I gave the blanket to my cats they started fighting over it. Hissing at each other and stuff. What does that mean?
