Taking the first steps under supervision of Pauli.
I'm glad you were able to get something to kitten proof that area. Thanks! Yes, I bought something similar to the one you sent, together with some zipties (good idea!).
Pauli is a sweetheart, such a good Mama ..... She's a very special girl,so happy she's safe and with you- her babies are adorable!Taking the first steps under supervision of Pauli.
There is absolutely no way you're human if you're not 100% totally kittensmitten and absolutely paw-sitively in love with Pauli and her little family!!!I am so entireIy kittensmitten, and more than a IittIe in Iove with PauIi, as weII!
Lol in this photo, she reminds me of a teenager saying "C'mon dad hurry up and take the picture so I can go..."
I've always started at 2wks of age- there are wormers that are safe for that young prescribed by a Veterinarian-many people do wait and use other types that are dosage by weight.....my poor Sami was a little over 4 weeks when I got him and very very ill besides a tummy bigger than he was ,full of worms and constipated,he was a neglected, abused & abandoned mess.....anyway ,unless I obtain a litter older -that's my start schedule)..... I'd go with whatever your own Vet suggestsI read that the kittens should be dewormed from three weeks of age, that will be next week, but I am checking the products to use for that and I only found one which can be used from when the kittens are over 500g. Though they won't be over 500g next week, that will take 1,5 more weeks probably. Would you just wait with deworming kittens or use something else?
I agree,I don't use OTC products personally unless approved or suggested by my Vet .....but that's just me and I'm no novice,I greatly value his advice and would hope everyone could have such a wonderful Vet- even for the little things,a simple phone call for a second opinion of meritI wouId suggest not using any over-the-counter meds on kittens beIow the recommended weight/age. Your vet can give them a wormer more preciseIy caIcuIated to their weight.
When you go make sure you have the weight of the littlest one this way you can ask for a dewormer that is safe for all of them based on their weight. One of the kittens lost a bit of weight during the weekend. Though she is still eating like the rest and doesn't seem to be much different than the rest in her behavior. The vet is now closed, but I will go tomorrow morning for a quick check. I read that it could be worms if she is still eating.
This weekend they really started to explore their surroundings, 'running' out of the box, wanting to sit on my lap, at least trying to climb up my leg. You can already tell different personalities, that is fun to see! Pauli is just Pauli, relaxed, sleeping next to the box most of the time, she doesn't seem to worry.Besides that how are the kittens doing and how is Pauli doing?
Ok, thanks! She is still a bit more than 350 grams (almost 3 weeks), still two other ones are smaller than her.She also may just be growing. It can take a few days to put on weight during a growth spurt.
