Neutering a stray?

If i bring a stray for neutering (hes a male), will he fight lesser with other cats? We have been feeding him for about 2 years and he has been constantly coming back with new injuries...probably from fighting with other cats or he scraped something sharp as we are in an industrial site. Will neutering help?

PS: I am unable to bring him home as i have brought home another cat instead...and she's a soliditary cat.

If he is neutered he will definitely fight less with other cats since he won’t be fighting with males over females.

Yes, please neuter him. This will help so many different things. I might also consider getting him tested for FIV/FeLV but I would just personally want to know. If you can't do anything besides release him then it won't matter much anyway. At least he won't likely fight as much and can't mate which is the main way those are transmitted.
