Hi, so today I adopted a 5 months male Persian kitten, when i got him home he was so nervous i've been petting him to make him feel safe but he's still hiding in the corner and not eating, i'm used with cats but this is the first time that happens since all the kittens i adopted before were less nervous. I'm just worried he'll refuse to eat all day, how can i make him less nervous?

Start him off in a smaller room. Sometimes being introduced to a big space at once can be overwhelming. Give him somewhere he can hide. Once he seems confident there, give him a little more access.

It might take a little bit of time for him to adjust, and that is normal. Create cozy and safe places that he can hide (A box with a pillow and blanket, a bed under a low table, get him his very own little cat tree etc) Simply offer a bowl of food and water near their hiding place where he can access it when he feels up to it. Get some particularly strong smelling wet cat food or cat treats to help entice. Remove anything that can be scary - a funny looking plant, decorations, playing loud music and the like.

Altogether just be patient, it is normal to take a couple of days where a newly adopted kitty hides and doesn't eat. Give him some space and time and he will soon come around.

So it's been now five days he comes out occasionaly but he's still nervous, we paly with him he feels safer but still scared for some reason and stays under the bed and eats only when i feed him he doesn't go to his bowl, so i'm really confused he seems to feel safe enough to come out to his litter box and to the living room but still not fully adjusted. Do you think it's just a phase? Or is there a maybe health problem that causes this?

5 days isn't much time for a cat. Give him a couple weeks at least to feel more confident in the space. Some cats take even longer. And some cats just are more timid/cautious as their personality. I had a cat who would never let us reach down and pet her. No reason why - she just was that way.
