Neko-chan Hunts Bugs

My playful kitten will pounce on anything that moves. That includes any bugs that find their way into the apartment. Yesterday I found her playing with a cricket. She ate it before I could throw it out. Is this Ok? She likes her food so she's not hungry

Thats fine. Most cats will eat bugs especially if they think they are going to be taken away from them

Yes, bugs are a natural food, so are spiders and flies. Even people eat them in other cultures. She gets stimulation and enjoyment from 'the hunt', let her.

I don't think there's any problem. Our cats always ate them. Catching them provides a stimulating hunting situation that's normal for cats, which I think is good.

My current cats like stink bugs especially well and routinely eat them, although from their dining behavior, they don't seem to taste very good. They eat them nonetheless.
