We got our current cat, Kimchi, about 5 weeks ago. About 3 weeks ago we started noticing the kittens moving around inside of her. We believe she was pregnant when we got her from a friend of a friend as we have never let her outside and there are no stray toms in our neighborhood. Just today I noticed a little sack forming at the back of her belly, near her legs. (I attached an image.) Is this normal? Also she has white flakes and little black dots around her nipples, is this also normal? Any help would be appreciated as this is the first time I've dealt with a pregnant cat, and this is my cat's first time being pregnant.

Welcome to TCS! :wave3:

The black spots are just pigmentation brought out by hormones.

The white flakes are dried milk.

The sac is probably milk coming in her mammary gland.

You can rub coconut or olive oil on her nipples to prevent chapping.

She's close to the end of her pregnancy if she is getting milk.

She looks very sweet! :)

Thank you for the help. As you can tell I'm very new to this. She's such a sweet cat.

If you started seeing kitten movement 3 weeks ago then she should be very close! She does look very sweet!

She just started meowing and wandering around. She's usually so quiet so this is unusual. Believe she's gonna give birth soon!!

She gave birth to her first kitten at 5:48, now 7:44 at the time of me posting this. After that she just stopped. There's been no kittens since and she's not panting or anything anymore. What's going on? I know there's more kittens in her cause the vet predicted 6-7.

She's probably fine. Breaks are normal. Does mom seem to be in distress at all? Is the kitten nursing?

2 hour break seems like a long time though. Although she doesn't seem to be in distress. The kitten is moving around, nursing off and on.

Cats can have breaks of hours or even days between deliveries. It's nothing to worry about as long as mom is not in distress. She'll have the others as soon as her body is ready. :)

It's been 6 years since this post, but anyone reading it now, it is a cause of concern if there's more than about 3 hours between kittens. Don't hesitate to call your vet!
