i dont know where to post this but...
I started to feed my cat natural balance venison food. petsmart doesnt carry either the dry or wet but they do for the dogs. petco did but now they stopped selling wet food. i assume they will stop selling the dry when they sell out. im curious why! so now im left only buying online (chewy and amazon) the only food that cat doesnt react to had to be one the stores dont sell. i wanna know why they dont sell it!! anyone else feed this to their cat?
im just frustrated :cloudy:

Try an independent pet store in your area. I don't see a store locator on the Natural Balance web site. Give customer service a call and ask for a list of independent stores in your area. Some stores may only sell the dog food so it's best to call before you make a trek to the store.

i did a chat with natural balance and they said this

For the canned formula, please know that this formula in is the process of being discontinued but will be available at local and online retailers until current inventory is worked through. This product is being discontinued because the venison in the recipe led to a high moisture content, which made it difficult for us to ensure the proper levels of protein and fat while still providing the formula at an economical price.

so, chewy and amazon wont restock once they sell out. and natural balance will no longer make the venison cat wet food. :bawling:

i cant afford anything more expensive than natural balance right now. im thinking trying the duck formula. based on the reviews it also worked for cats with ibd/allergies. i'll wait to see what specialist says when we see her on the 10th. for now i will order from chewy the venison

Try the duck and pea one, that’s what my IBD cat eats and it’s the only thing that’s worked for his stomach issues out of what was probably a dozen+ foods we tried (besides Royal canin LID duck which we switched from because of cost)

i want to try that but i read that duck is also poultry so im nervous about trying that. did your cat have reactions to chicken/turkey? i dont know if i should switch altogether with dry and wet so she can be having just one protein.

We tried a few different chicken based foods that gave him horrible soft messy poop, but the LID duck doesn’t for some reason. I didn’t find that his tolerance or intolerance of food was linked to the protein in it though, we tried another canned food with duck (nutro maybe?) and that one was bad too. There didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to it

Duck and other poultry are *usually* ok with many IBD cats. Offer a small amount for a few days to see if the cat has a reaction or not. My IBD cat can eat duck and turkey but not chicken.

nutro duck has chicken broth (i dont know if chicken broth could cause reactions) thats what i like about natural balance. there ingredients are simple. i looked at other brands with venison and in it they have chicken stuff/turkey//beef or something else. my cat has vomiting issues. never runny poop. actually the opposite. i have to give her miralax daily. and venison helps her vomiting. i guess natural balance duck wet food couldnt hurt, at least she still can have venison for dry food.
