I did finish the holiday train show entry BelleWood-Gardens - Diary

and started on the one for kiku. Still have book review.

Did not re-pot plants.

But I did get the bed sheets washed, bed made.

The washer is filling just fine for wash and incredibly slowly for rinse. I have a nasty feeling that the water off / water on has stirred up crud and the fine little filters in the pipes to the washer are clogged. No point in calling the service tech until we're sure that the men are done turning water off / water on. If I turn control to fill it does so just fine, then advance to rinse and it's O.K. Just not thrilled at hovering over washer listening to its noises.

Yesterday was fairly busy
*Up for Mass
*played with Tuxxie
*breakfast for both of us
* bed, dishes, shower-- out for Church
* come home, drop off a friend who came with me. Pick up shopping cart
* groceries-- put away
* had 2nd cup of coffee
* went trough cabinet for expired goods, and things for food pantry.
* easy supper of TJ's butternut squash, pumpkin shaped pasta with their Autumn tomato sauce with butternut squash. Not bad.

Today's plan:
*Tux woke me up
* played with him
* breakfast
*scoop
* dishes, dry swiffer, vacuum, Bed
* phone call
* Out for errands.. have a lot, but we will see what I can accomplish.
** either cook more of yesterday's meal, or roast 1/2 chicken, adding some to sauce.. or roast chicken and roast veggies.. or make veggies tomorrow.

Got my stuff for T-day-- well a good portion of it.. Not a fan of turkey but saw a Jenny-O 1/2 breast of turkey! Just the right size..I know most of it will be bones and skin.. but for a non-turkey fan.. good enough. I will have that with potatoes(?), stuffing, cranberry sauce, and probably butternut squash or corn.

Finally went through the pantry and reorganized. Got most of my spice cabinet jars filled and put new labels on them. Finalized my menu and my shopping list for tomorrow which also has a lot of Thanksgiving items on it. Spent time with the new ferals. Picked up a couple books at the library and put gas in the vehicle.Sorted a puzzle and did the edge. Made dinner and now I'm on TCS trying to do some catch up.

Well, that evil four-letter word for white stuff is in our weather forecast for Thursday night into late Friday. Fortunately, they're saying no accumulation that amounts to anything. But we need moisture, any kind of moisture...we are that dry.

We grabbed a few groceries yesterday, so I'm ready for T-Day. We got a Ms. Turkey (hen) not a Mr., about 13 pounds.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, made our coffee, and went back to bed until 8:00.
  • Raked leaves
  • Did a quick vacuum
  • Got the trash ready to take down to the road for pickup tomorrow.
And that will be my day.

Got up super early. Went to Walmart, supermarket, the bank, Costco. Stopped at the vets for meds and a script for Izzy.Came home and husband and I unloaded everything and put stuff away up here or in the big basement pantry. Finally had coffee as I left this morning without any. Did more work in the kitchen.We took the trash and recycling out. I filled the bird feeders. Spent time with Izzy.Then spent time with the ferals.(We have had more then a dozen cats/ kittens dumped out here in a month. It is not legal to dump animals , but people keep doing it. I guess if you don't get caught. Getting to be more then the three of us can handle)Made dinner then walked into the bedroom and realized the bed was not made so did that. Now I'm sitting here trying to relax.

A little bit of the white stuff for us too this morning Winchester Winchester . A went out this morning to turn on the heated mats and to blow away what are hopefully the last leaves on the driveway. I have rowing to do this morning and probably another load of laundry. Top of the list though is to make a shopping list of what is needed for next week‘s dinner

Let's see . . .

The men finished with the shower replacement installation today. Not that we can use it, mind you. A) The caulking / grout needs to dry for a couple of days and B) the shower doors (two pairs of sliding doors / four panels) need to be reinstalled. That is a different business and what with Thanksgiving it will not be until December 2nd. Good thing this is not our only bathroom, agreed?

The men did such a lovely job we now want them to come back, tear out the jacuzzi in that same bathroom (we don't use it anyhow) and replace it with a nice tub and the porcelain tile used for the shower. Next year.

I finished clearing out my garage bay (I was using it to pack up cannas and "stuff") so my car is again parked in it and it can rain tonight, tomorrow, and Friday with snow flurries on that day.

More anon.

Had bloodwork this morning, followed by oncologist appt. My kidney numbers continue to improve, albeit slowly. The good news is that I am no longer considered a candidate for dialysis as my kidneys are doing better. This is strictly due to no salt and really watching my diet, so I patted myself on the back. I am not out of the woods, nor will I ever be; I’ll be dealing with kidney issues for the rest of my life. Darn chemo. I will have my 12th Keytruda treatment on Friday. I’m feeling well and doing well, other than the fatigue, which dr says is more kidneys than Keytruda. Still, it was good news.

And that was pretty much it. Drizzly and dismal, so no outside work. But we are grateful for the rain. Rick is bowling and I’m going to bed with my iPad.

C catapault So far I've made:
2 Chia spice mixes, 1 whole for tea another ground for baking
Baharat a lot of spice used a lot in the Middle East
Apple Pie Spice very difficult to find in stores just easier to make it
Dukkah used as a spice and as a topping also Middle Eastern has toasted hazelnuts in it so it has to be refrigerated or frozen

Okra Spice good on okra and more
Chaat Masala a Indian blend used snacks etc.
Several flavored salts
Still need to make:
Berbere an Ethiopian Spice mix
Sicilian Spice blend basil, fennel, marjoram sage chili flakes etc.
Hawaiij Israeli blend by way of Yemin
