We were in WalMart the other day and hubby noticed a gallon of paint...don't know the brand...was close to $60!I won't do it,that's for sure.I think we may take a trip down to Habitat for Humanity and see what they have...he's looking for exterior paint for his hives and it doesn't have to be a big brand name.Went to Wal-Mart this morning for various items. Stopped at feed and mercantile - we were considering a talk in October. However they are busy collecting things and trucking down to the Carolinas. How about November? I have a few things that month plus Thanksgiving. I asked how about December? Ehh, we ended up with next April.
Go home and intermittent handyman was here. Himself had helper lift large logs up onto log splitter where they were quartered. Repeat. And again a third time. That takes care of the outsize pieces. Next, I had helper rake out ditch at toe of hill just off upper parking area. It got somewhat mangled when the tree service was here yesterday with the bucket lift truck, taking some weight off crowns of a few sizeable trees.
Himself finished splitting wood. When he was done I handed the pieces to him so he could stack.
I dragged the hose down and watered sapphire berry, Symphorocarpus for an hour. Then repeat for another small tree, seven sons, Heptacodium. I want to water more. But while I have not run clothes washer or dishwasher today I really don't want to stress our well. Tomorrow is another day.
While the second hour's watering was ongoing I went and painted a finish coat on the two posts along the street. Now that things are becoming somewhat less disheveled in the basement where French drains were installed along interior walls I was able to locate a partial quart can of exterior white enamel paint. I had intended to buy a quart so this would happen sooner. But refuse to pay $22 for a quart of paint. Outrageous!
And now I am sitting.
Pam. you still amaze me... .I had my 11th Keytruda treatment yesterday. I'm doing well. My blood work results show that my kidneys are finally and slowly improving. I'm no longer so darn nauseous and am no longer taking anti-nausea meds, at least for right now. I'm am not as weak as I was and I'm getting my energy back. No napping, other than the day of the Keytruda treatment. I'll take it. Right before Thanksgiving, I will go for my 12th treatment. In the beginning, 12 were all that were prescribed. But since I'm doing so well on Keytruda (knock on wood), my oncologist is thinking of adding six more treatments, which will take me into the spring of 2025. I'm grateful to be doing well. Somebody is definitely looking out for me.
We've been outside a lot this week, doing yard work: raking leaves, moving broken tree brush up to the burning pile, cutting the perennials down. I swept around the WeShed deck and patio, moved the chairs into the basement, cut back geraniums and moved them into the basement. I cut my Boston fern back and watered it well. Will bring it to the basement tomorrow, as well as my potted hydrangeas.
Bob and I have the final three episodes of Evil yet to watch. He wants to see the PSU game today and I think, next week, he's going home to visit with his mom.
- I have 7 dough disks on the counter and will be making 14 apple dumplings today (while Dear Richard is watching PSU). Four will go to my sister and BIL, two will go to our neighbors, two for Rick tonight, and the rest will go into the freezer for later on.
- Changed the bed sheets and will wash the dirty ones tomorrow.
- Vacuumed and swiffered early this morning as I wanted to get it done before the PSU football game.
- Changed out all the Halloween stuff in the house for Fall and Thanksgiving stuff. Changed the yard flags out, too.
- Hoping to finish up the cook book this afternoon; now it's just printing chapter covers and such. Then it's completely done. I'll have three copies to be bound and, hopefully, will get them into the store for binding this coming week. One is for my DIL, one if for Bob, and one is for me.
- I want to do a King Arthur order, since it doesn't look like we'll be getting to Vermont this year.
