Last night and the night before temperature dropped to just a titch over 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Last night I put an afghan on the bed, under the sheet used over the summer comforter. Summer is over. Next time the bed sheets get changed it will be flannel sheets.

Today when our intermittent handyman was here he and Himself took down the double pair of screens for the kitchen and front entries, replaced the screens with storm doors. Interesting to get storm doors out of disheveled basement . . .

Next, the two large pots of red spot bananas were brought from the deck into the great room.

Great Room-Winter_2024-10_furniture and potted bananas.jpg

Himself turned the house heat on. And I put our flannel shirts in the closet.

Yes, Winchester Winchester , a LOT of bags. Especially because I forgot about her basement storage and found even more boxes of bags down there. I took a few boxes of Ziplocks and most of the Foodsaver bags because I go thru tons of those, and my sister will take rest and share them with her daughters. We both also now have enough tin foil, Saran Wrap and waxed paper to last the next ten years. But a cost savings as well that I am appreciative of.

The aunt’s house still needs hours of work but I find it very satisfying that I can now walk through a room or open a closet without having things fall on me and there is also some fun discovering things, like this morning three bottles of Lambrusco wine in her closet. I don’t drink wine so it will get passed on but things like that keep the straightening/cleaning interesting.

I had my 10th Keytruda treatment yesterday. So far, it's all going well, other than fatigue and nausea.

So for today:
  • Breakfast for the girls, made our coffees, and went back to bed.
  • Scooped the boxes
  • Vacuumed and swiffered, wiped the bathroom
  • Changed the bed sheets (and will wash tomorrow)
  • Swept leaves from the Shed Deck and Patio
  • Bob is coming in around 5:00 to continue watching Evil

*Fed the critters lots of times today because my schedule is/was wonky.
*Put Winter (dog) on leash because she's getting a little too rough with Omen.
* Went to my parent's place to play games, watch some CFL, and have Thanksgiving dinner (Canadian TG is Monday).

Tomorrow my new bed frame arrives. My old futon frame died a glorious death after 30 years and 3 owners.

susanm9006 susanm9006 I hear you about de-scaling the Keurig. I have to do the Ninja at some point, too, and I don't like doing it, simply because it takes a long time to complete the job.
  • Two loads of laundry
  • Scooped the cats' boxes
  • Processed lima beans for the garden (and that's the last of the 2024 garden)

Stacked & tarped the rounds of firewood I’d axed into smaller pieces.
Swept deck & driveway of leaves. (Kinda useless, will have to do it again tomorrow!).
Carried leftover lumber to rack so it stays level & dry.

Sleeping in the bird room on the new bed frame. The critters really seem to enjoy this setup! I'll be doing that until I can take apart the old futon frame and bring it down to the garbage. (All three flights. I am not happy about this, LOL! ). Then I have to clean the bedroom and move the new frame and mattress into the bedroom. My friends call this 'Apartment Tetris' or 'Tetrising'.

Lucky me.

Then Tuesday I have the vet come over and look over Winter/get her vaccinated/trim her nails. Lastly, I look at our local low-cost Spay and Neuter program to see if I can get Omen accepted into it. :)

Couple of hours putting 25kg of rice into 1kg ziplock bags for distribution at the neighbourhood house - nice easy job. Picked up some prescriptions, and cat litter from the supermarket. Back to knitting my at-home project (needs too much concentration to do it at the knitting group).

Yard work today as soon as it warms up. Tomorrow is yard waste pickup day and there are only a few left in the season so I need to take advantage of them. I also want to pull out the cat shelter and halloween decorations from the shed.

Bed stripped and sheets in washing machine. When dry they will go into storage with the other percale sheets as today I will make the seasonal shift to flannel sheets.

Yesterday Himself split a cart's worth of firewood which I helped stack. Last load for the storage area next to basement door.

Yesterday I moved multiple small (4 wheel) garden carts of plants from driveway upper parking area into my garage bay. Some will do into greenhouse - can do. Some go into basement but that cannot happen until crew comes back on Thursday to move the disheveled mess back along the walls. That will be interesting.

I would like to defrost the small refrigerator today as its tiny freezer is seriously iced up.

Very, very windy day.

Since I did a fair amount of nothing yesterday, due to not feeling well; today is a bit busier.

* Played at least twice with Tux-- in the morning.
* Swiffered and Vacuumed
*gave Tux a few calming treats
* took Tux in to get his nails trimmed, it was a real struggle to get him into the carrier..
He almost fell asleep on the way home!!
*Stopped on the way home for a jelly donut--- the size of a soccer ball!! I swear! So good!
* on line
* will go out soon to pick up prescription
* ??? Supper... do not know.. sigh..
* pick up mail, amazon order, and stuff from downstairs in building..

the is it.. Feed Tux--- he is somewhere sleeping..

Today I had an ultrasound to check on the progress of my IVF process. I am scheduled for the egg retrieval on Thursday. I have to give myself the trigger shots in half an hour and I'm nervous about the inter-muscular one because the needle is huge.
I also worked my regular day and then after work I took my dogs for a walk around the wildlife preserve behind my house. I also met with a YouTuber via Zoom to be on her show in the next few months to talk about my time being mute as a kid.

It did freeze last night but fortunately not so cold that the outside water bowl froze. I am going to set out the winter one and put in the heater for it today anyway. I am also planning to drive across town to a hardware store that online says sells the rubber broom I picked up a couple days ago at the Goodwill. I want another for the garage and also picking up one as a Christmas gift.

Yesterday turned out to be a perfect weather day and a joy to be outside. I got all six birdhouses down, cleaned out and sanitized and then rehung. Winter water bowl is out. Cleared the sidewalk and spots where I put Halloween decorations. This morning is aunts house. I am bringing yard tools so I can clear her walkways which are a hazard of broken branches and sticks and then we are starting on her boxes of paperwork.

Definite frost last night. Neighbors sheep pasture has a skin of frost and some of my bananas were nipped on the most exposed leaves.

Today I ran a rather small load through washer & dryer, still waiting to be put away.

Baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

Three men here to rearrange basement to its original configuration - that is, before everything was shoved together and away from the walls for installation of the French drains. Himself was down there with them, offering advice. He would periodically call me to come down for my opinion. Let's put it this way - after three men for three hours all the heaviest "stuff" is back where it should be. There is still a plethora of light weight things for me to deal with. I gave each of them a cooky (along with payment.)

After lunch - off to Wal-Mart. Most important - totally out of black oil sunflower seeds for the bird feeders. Have now moved up to buying a 20 pound bag - 10 pounds don't last very long. As soon as we were home, frozen stuff in freezer, I filled the feeders. And, barely waiting until I was back in the house, the little birds were swooping in. Also bought things like bananas, potatoes, soy sauce, Himself got bungee cords, etc. But didn't get any socks.

Things. Done today.
