Three things...
Wag more, bark less. :cheerleader:
Stop giving my Penguin kitten his Delectable treats. He's 6 months old and weighs 8 pounds. He's a big little man.
Wash my floors. Oh, joy. :rolleyes:

Ear plugs, should have gotten ear plugs! Sawing through concrete is VERY noisy. Mr Poe is very casual about all this, surprisingly so. Domino is invisible. Put his lunchtime meal in my study and shut the door. Didn't see him but contents pretty much consumed.

Crew of 14! I only had 8 frozen blobs of chocolate chip cookie dough. Ehh, what to do . . . Each blob makes one large cookie, which bakes for 11 minutes, reverse cookie sheet and then bake for 4 minutes longer. I cut each blob in half, checking weight on kitchen scale, then baked. Had to twiddle with timing but it all worked out. Must have, as what I got back was an empty plate.

Supposed to let concrete cure for 4 weeks before putting heavy items - freezer, storage racks etc - back on top of them. This could be interesting . . .
Sawdust ontop helps concrete used as a foundation to bear heavy loads( like an RV for example) and is susceptible to damage from load strain - 28 days is the rule for structural integrity.....so use sawdust( dirt or sand is fine)- works well to help thick cement to cure....

Construction projects are always such a nuisance - worth it after all is said & done though- congrats

Now that Omen's home, I have some rearranging to do with Puddles and Winter. Winter gets snappy with anyone if she feels her meals are threatened, and I usually feed Puddles in the bedroom. But Omen is now there, so gotta feed Puddles in the living room windowsill. Worried that she might not know where to eat.

I'm being paranoid. That's all.

Then have to clean bird toys and scoop litter boxes. I joke that I'm not happy unless I'm elbow deep in animal turds :p

Happy day for me! I get to decorate for Halloween. Have been wanting to for a week or two but also didn't want to get rid of my Fall stuff yet either. I did the deep clean of the house last weekend so all I need to do is a quick clean and then I can start taking down some of the Fall decor ( I leave some up and just add the Halloween stuff) and pull out the Halloween decor. Might do the outside when I get home from work and then the inside later tonight.

Work
Pick up dinner
Quick clean of the house
Pull out Fall and Halloween bins
Take down some Fall items and put up Halloween items
Decorate the outside for Halloween

A chuckle for everyone this morning. Yesterday was my weekly morning at my aunts to straighten up/clean her house and my goal for the day was to clear her pantry closet which was full to the brim. I took a picture of the main contents to share with my sister. Nearly every box was opened. Needless to say neither of us will need to buy bags for years.

Today is paperwork, bills, computer work.

Fortunate you and your sister. Bags don't go bad.

Check the Ziploc boxes - if you are fortunate there will be one (or more) of the microwave steam in bag that are no longer manufactured. I only use them for vegetables, rinse them out and re-use. Down to my last 3 bags, so sad. Frozen veggies come in self-steam bags but what if you buy fresh carrots. Or asparagus. Or . . .

Is that a red Kitchenaid stand mixer on the counter, at the right? Nice!

I will check them! Since the boxes are all open we will try to squeeze them down to a manageable number of boxes to store but neither of us want our storage areas to look like hers! Yes, a beautiful red Kitchenaid mixer - she bought some very nice things that will go in the estate sale whenever we get ready for it.

Well, getting close to the end of my crazy 10 days!
*up early for appointment
*Played with Tux for a half hour
* breakfast for both.. He is boycotting his breakfast-- again!! Fancy Feast Chicken is not good enough for him!!
Tuff mama is back!
* left house for appointment-- 1/3 of the way there, I forgot my bag with my wallet/license in it!! had to return back home for it. Good thing I left in more than enough time.
* on the way home, stopped at Dunkin': iced cold brew & bagel bites
*** They overfilled the coffee, did not secure the lid-- all the way down my hand, arm, even onto my back! ridiculous.
* stopped at bank
** home
* Tux was a good boy-- gave him some calming treats before I left. When I came home, he came out of his cat tree to greet me. He jumped up to our 'brushing" spot, purring!! I was happy. I was ecstatic when he allowed me to fully brush him, while he was purring. He was so good that I grabbed some Greenie treats for him.. Maybe there is hope??? Then he tried to nip me-- I walked away.

* just sitting here, listening to some music..

I am exhausted. Yesterday an appointment got cancelled; so I did a ton of cleaning/picking up around here. I am sore today, plus the fog seems to be coming in.. My hip and knee is really sore/stiff/

Tux is back to his hiding spot in his cat tree...
I sure wish he would calm down... fast.. But it is only a month since he came off the streets.. and 3 weeks since neutered. Pray he changes soon...He was a wild man today.. It seems each morning, the entire morning is wild man.. no touching him.

I only got to 3 of these. Worked, picked up dinner, and pulled out the bins. No cleaning and no decorating. So, today I will do the cleaning and decorating.

Yesterday I put a coat of primer on the two wooden posts outdoors along the road. The township road crew had replaced the broken post (damaged as they were mowing the verge) and replaced the intact one - now have two new posts that are close but not identical.

Today we are excavating in the very disheveled basement - the crew installing the French drains basically shoved everything together in the center. Found wood burning stove accoutrements, brought upstairs. Himself hitched up cart to ATV, then we loaded it with firewood from the big rack that lives in the basement. Drive around house to front. Carry bucket after bucket into great room and load stove-side rack with wood.

After lunch, having found the furniture glides in the basement disarray, we will rearrange the furniture to its winter configuration.

Are we having fun yet? Maybe, maybe not, but this is all necessary work.

That is a big job going on in your basement C catapault ! I need to have mine redone but have been procrastinating because of the cost and amount of work involved. Worth it though in the end.

I am sitting around waiting for the furnace tech to arrive. This is just a beginning of season system check which they offer at a super cheap price. Afterwards I need to do a hardware store run.

You bet! susanm9006 susanm9006 Here's what it looked like as they were covering "stuff" before initial step of cutting concrete. Dust still got all over things.

Today Himself and I will go to our local pharmacy for flu vaccine. Will wait 10 days / a couple of weeks for covid vaccine. Then go to IGA for a few items. And as long as we are out, go to nearby farm stand / wagon, see what's available.

susanm9006 susanm9006 Holy cow, woman! That is a LOT of bags!
artiemom artiemom :hugs: It will take time for Tux to calm down a bit. He's just a youngster.

Things are getting back to whatever-passes-for-normal around here. We did the Covid shot and flu shot the other week. Then last week, we got the RSV shot. It seems strange to not go to visit Rick's mom. Rick is OK; I think that, in a way, he's glad that it's over. It's been in the backs of our minds for the last couple of weeks and we've been on alert every time the phone would ring. He and his sister have an appointment next week with lawyers about their mom's trust.
  • Blood work this morning.
  • Vacuumed, dusted, swiffered, wiped kitchen and bathroom.
  • One load of laundry.
  • Made the meat loaf for dinner tonight and stuck it in the fridge.

I had the Covid shot in the middle of September. Will either get the Flu shot next week at PCP's appointment or at CVS the next day.
Today:
*Tux woke me up around 5am by loudly jumping on my head with a huge MEOW!! and playing with my hair!! OMGosh cat... He wanted me up. I am trying to ignore this, but when he bites my feet and legs.. sigh
* got up at 6am
* played for 30 minutes with him..
*Breakfast
*Quick dry Swiffer in Bathroom and scoop.
* dishes, bed
* take all the stuff off the floor and give a pretty good vacuum
* Tux is running around-- going crazy-- Think the Swiffer is a toy for him to play with.. sigh
* gave him some calming treats-- not working..sigh..
* Down to Cornhole-- I lost-- not into it..
* went to grocery store
* put things away

Do not know about supper.. not really hungry-- had a couple of cookies... perhaps chicken salad, or just popcorn.
Bought a package of Butterfingers minis for Halloween-- MY Halloween...

This is a picture of Tuxie 'helping me' organize the water:

Then he proceeded to chomp on the plastic... after I laughed, I scolded him!!@ CATS!! FERAL CATS!!! BABY FERAL CATS!!!!!!!@@@!!##
