Ah,thought this was " Whats on your mind"- oops,a little side chatter, lol

So today I'm going to try to add 2apps to my TV thst have shows I watch.... last night I enjoyed Peacock and watched 2movies I wanted to see....

I'm having alot of trouble with the front room TV that's using the Roku stick- the Roku is working great but apps are giving me problems loading....but that's for another day

I want to clean my car and also the mess of leaves that maintenance promised to clean up and of course did not- I might even prune two hedges, well see

Normal cat duty morning and going to start our walks now - and go get tye mail before the Bilaggio water display comes on to flood the property( sprinklers- so wasteful in rainy season where it rains every night!)

It's been a busy few days. First, I had a nephrology appointment. Was told to "maintain the status quo". He wants a home health aide to come in to see the house, to see how far away the bedroom is from the bathroom. This is for dialysis, so they can figure out how much tubing I would need, how far I would have to walk to the bathroom, I guess. I looked at him and said, "No." Plain and simple. My numbers are stable, albeit on the high side. And maybe this isn't the right attitude to take, but I'd just as soon wait as long as possible on the dialysis. We got home from the appt and Rick and I agreed that we're probably just putting off the evitable; at some point, I'm going to have to break down and have dialysis. It really, really pisses me off; I had good kidneys until the chemo.

Yesterday, I ripped through the house: vacuumed, swiffered, wiped, and cleaned. Bob said last night that he wouldn't be here until 5-ish and I said, "Nope. It's too late for me. I turn into a pumpkin at 8." We agreed to continue Evil next week.

So now I've a lovely day to myself. Rick left for the drags this morning at 5:30 and I don't expect him home much before 10 tonight.
  • Check the plants in the Shed.
  • Work on my cookbook; I'm at the Index section, so almost done!
  • Clean out some kitchen drawers and cabinets.

Good for you!!!!You follow your heart, your gut - NOBODY knows your body better than you- your numbers are stable,I'd make the same decision as you

You know I say" no" a lot with my oncologists, right ,wrong or indifferent- it's our decision to make❤

My mom had terrible kidney issues, though not from Chemo. I had taken her to to the nephrologist appointment where their were people having dialysis. She looks at my and said I am NEVER having dialysis. I said ok. She says I mean it. I said I heard you. I don't think just because I was her caregiver and her daughter that is my choice to decide for her. Later she gave me power of attorney etc.I still followed her wishes
I am very sorry chemo caused kidney issues for you, it often seems you tackle one medical issue and then you have another. Unfortunately caused by treatment of the first medical issue. We still get to make are own choices

I've canned tomatoes NEVER!lol 🤣Don't know the first thing about canning except to put them in my cart and pay the cashier- my ancestors would not be pleased but the thing is they never could tell the difference between my pot of sauce and theirs ...I never had the heart to tell them I gave all the fresh tomatoes away they supplied me with, unbeknownst to my grandmother her wonderful tomatoes and vegetables were not my thing
I participated in the canning tomatoes as a child until my fingers were swollen and I was crying. My mother canned bushels of them and the first step was to dip each tomato in boiling water (her job) and remove the skins ( kids job). They would be a little cooled down but still warm and we would have to peel them hours. Would never ever ever think about canning a tomato again.

Spent the morning on paperwork related to the aunt. We are ending the first sixty days of emergency conservatorship and seeking permanent. Hoops to jump thru for that include multiple background checks and fingerprinting, plus a ridiculous amount of accounting for these two months. Not really difficult, just preparing and wading thru paperwork and forms.

Removed cobwebs and cleaned in the basement in prep for the plumber coming tomorrow to replace my water heater. Vacuumed the carpeted basement stairs that are always disgusting because I ignore them most of the year. I have to pick up a few things today so I can boredom eat while he is working down there.

Had a lovely talk with some friends on Zoom. Talked a bit about cats (we're all cat lovers) and heard about how my friend's cat, Freya, is terrified of Thunderstorms.

Getting meds delivered today. Had a huge list, including a prescription for Naproxen that's almost a year and a half old that had to be refilled :)

Gotta clean bird cages today. Put that off long enough!

Kwik Kwik susanm9006 susanm9006 I did tomatoes with my mom as a kid. And I do our tomatoes from the garden. I just made a big pot of pasta sauce, using our garden tomatoes. I do the X-thing on the bottom of the tomato, then put them all in boiling water for about 30 seconds. Drain in the colander and get to work. I try to do a good job with the skins because I like to dry them and then make tomato powder with them. It takes a lot of tomato skin for powder.
Mia6 Mia6 Good for you with your aide! You've waited so long. I hope it all works out for you. :hugs:
My SIL called me this morning; my 50-pound bag of flour finally came in. We'll go up tomorrow morning to pick it up and I'll have flour in the freezer for a while. I have found that 5 pounds of flour fits perfectly in one Ziploc freezer bag. It works. I'll have eight 5-pound bags of flour in the freezer, five pounds in my flour container, and a 5-pound bag in the pantry. And that will see me through my Christmas baking.
  • I took a chicken out of the freezer to start thawing to make a pot of chicken corn soup tomorrow.
  • Vacuum, swiffer, straighten-up around the house
  • Work on cookbook. Index is done (that took forever) and am printing chapter covers and such.
  • It's an exercise night

Today is fingerprinting day. Part of the background checks that conservators and guardians go thru to make sure we aren’t criminals or abusers. I have been fingerprinted before, when I worked for an airlines, but they still require it to be repeated.

There are a bunch of fall things, like hedge trimming, that I should be doing but our temps have been in the upper 80’s, too hot for outdoor work.

Yesterday:
Went to the doctor, bloodwork, and flu and covid vaccines. My vertigo this time was caused by a middle ear infection.
Went to Costco for some things.
Got home fed Izzy and unloaded vehicle and got trash out

Today got splint off my hand. Broken finger looks ok but the next two fingers are swollen.Dealing with that with ice which is not changing much.OT tomorrow
Call vet for prescriptions for Izzy so I will have to pick them up.
Paid some bills
The antibiotics for my ear are doing a job on my stomach despite taking with food etc.

DMV early this morning to renew my drivers license and then to the aunts to finally vacuum her place. She has probably bought a new vacuum every year for the last ten, then got frustrated she couldnt figure out how to use them and tossed them in the trash. I picked up a new one a couple days ago and it was so satisfying to vacuum carpets that hadnt seen it in months.
