Supper, as of now is the frittata I promised myself a week ago... hopefully!

Tossing around the idea of running to Publix

It's very overcast so I thought it'd be a good day to do some landscape work at the other end of my bldg but it's too darn muggy- takes the ummmph right out of you

Looks like it'll be an unproductive day overall

Want to try to hook up my cable in the front room and switch my bedroom to Roku- I want to try it out before I disconnect cable services ,lol

Not sure I'm up for the whole thing today

I wanted to try the Roku stick in the front room but though it's a smart TV it's the older F connection so that's too complicated for my brain- I bought a little adapter but it didn't come yet- might just wait:dunno:

In the kitchen
It was downright chilly this morning, but it warmed up nicely. Rick worked on his retaining wall at the top of the driveway this afternoon and I worked in the house.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and made our coffee. And then went back to bed.
  • Baked cookies for Rick to take tonight for the football game.
  • Scooped boxes, vacuumed, swiffered, cleaned the kitchen. Will clean the bathroom tomorrow morning.
  • I have some "me" time, so I'm going to work on the computer for my cookbook for a while.

Staying in and knitting tomorrow, and nursing this maybe-Covid. I got a positive test this evening, but I could have mucked it up by putting too many drops in. I've got a runny nose, but no other symptoms yet.

Hope Phoebe and Daisy are feeling resilient if it is Covid, because I can't keep away from them, whatever the RSPCA recommends!

Need to start my day;
Dishes

change bed sheets
need to really dust
? perhaps out for an early supper? if not, then just a quick meal in here
Organize things---

I seriously need to take apart my bedroom, give it a good cleaning!

Yesterday was a late morning.. up most of the night.
Went to pick up script and do one errand
Washed my winter jackets and rain jacket.. They are still dripping wet in the tub. Will take a few more days for the heavy jacket to dry. I do not like to put them in the dryer. I would rather air dry.
finally made my frittata for supper

Temps down to the low 50’s overnight, time to get the fall/winter pj’s ready. All need a refresh wash and a few need some new elastic. I will probably throw slippers in the wash as well. Adding a reminder to call for a fall furnace tuneup on my to do list.

Made a vegetable stock this morning
Did two loads of laundry
Sent the momma cat and kitten to their new home ( still have and working with the last kitten)
A chickadee flew into our kitchen window and sat there for a long time. We went out to move him (so he didn't get eaten), and we finally got him to fly away.

All house guests have gone. I have washed and dried and folded sheets, more sheets, additional sheet, and a total of 5 pillow cases.

Washed four overnight guests worth of towels (now in dryer.)

As long as I was at it, washed mattress cover for twin size bed.

That makes a total of four loads of laundry/ Then everything will need to be put away.

Let's see . . . today I

Unloaded dishwasher I had started running on my way up to bed.
Put sheets and towels away, put mattress cover back on twin bed.
Ran a load of our laundry - jerseys, T-shirts, undergarments, socks and a goodly number of dish towels.
Assisted loading and then stacking a cart of firewood.
Strip meat off the two rotisseries chickens - one was partially consumed, other not at all - and started a large pot of stock.
Off to Costco to return a clamshell of fresh figs that started to go moldy the day after I bought them. Bought other items. Store mobbed.

And also the usual morning activities -
Refill bird feeders and put outside
Feed cats and clean litter pan.
BTW - Domino has been vomiting in morning after breakfast. Pate type food, comes back as brown puddle. I wait a bit and re-feed him, and all is good. He is fine at lunch, dinner, bedtime - same food, same quantity.
And of course made coffee for myself.

Does Domino eat too quickly? Sounds like he might be regurgitating from too much air- excited for breakfast? Is that a possibility?

Is the firewood almost stocked yet?

Today has been busy, and it is not even over!!
*Up early for Mass
*Picked up a couple of things at grocery store
*iced cold brew at Dunkin
*Read paper
Then I started!!! and kept going!!
*washed down bathroom
*took bedroom apart, moved as much furniture as I could..
*Dusted everything
*Vacuumed
*hand washed a table runner that I use as a scarf for the dresser; not an easy feat as I can feel arthrist in left
knuckles
*Cleaned out vacuum
*Trash a couple of times today...
*printed up a couple of things for GI docs appointment tomorrow

Now, I think I am done... baking a sweet potato right now..

Next room I have to tackle is the living room. It is not in bad shape; but it needs a good cleaning.
Then I can put up some Fall decorations.....

A couple loads of laundry this morning. Then the neighbor put a nice little wood nightstand on the curb and I snatched it. No refinishing this one, I just moved it into the big closet for storage use. Spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon rearranging and straightening things in there.

Kwik Kwik Himself says there are 10 or maybe fewer carts of firewood to move. Then he can start splitting. Which makes no sense to me as we already have this winter and next winter's firewood all split. If it's what he wants to do . . .

That's a thought about Domino eating too rapidly, but I have doubts. He had his bedtime meal late, like 11:00 p.m. and breakfast at maybe 8:00 a.m. Gap between lunch and dinner is maybe 2 hours shorter. But I'll give it a try tomorrow and report back.

Meant to mention that while granddaughter is going directly home to her husband and their newly acquired but not yet completely unpacked home, daughter and son in law won't be home for, I think it is 2 weeks, with a stay in Colorado in a very rural area where the hardware store in town has a laundromat. Since the trio from Texas had started their journey with a visit to Massachusetts, by the time they were about leave here and go home they had about 7 or 8 days of dirty laundry. So on Friday I suggested and with little reluctance they agreed - that evening I ran their clothes through the washer & dryer. But they got to fold.

Lot of laundry in the last few days.
