So happy the car door ripped up weatherstripping is gone, looks nice and neat now( until the next time with those little claws hoping to open the door when the flap is locked( hardly ever these days now that the patio screens are protected by welded wire!

It's as important to make your home safe & secure for our kitty kids as anyone would do for their human babies👍

nurseangel nurseangel The red spot bananas have never flowered for me. The huge green Japanese fiber bamboo - one culm did flower, once, but did not set fruit. Just as happy as the one that flowers then dies.

The hot humid weather may be obnoxious for us but the bananas love it. As you can see

And since they are cut down in autumn - this is all this year's growth

Wrestled for over two hours this morning trying to get the seats back onto the chairs I have been working on. If I had an extra arms I could have done it in a quarter of that time. I finally ended up using plastic moving wrap to secure the seats on so I could tip them at the right angle to get the screws in. Now I am waiting for touch up paint to dry from all the nicks I gave them in the process. They will not be perfect but presentable. I will bring them in this afternoon. White is before, brown is after.

Izzy's bloodwork came back ok so that is great. Now I have to decide if I want to do teeth cleaning on a 15 year old cat with asthma. Her asthma is stable but there is always a risk.Vet feels medically she is ok for the procedure though.Made up a menu for the next couple of weeks, watered indoor plants and did some organizing will I was waiting for vet to call.

susanm9006 susanm9006 I love your chairs! Excellent job!

It's been busy around here for the last few days. We picked corn on Thursday and Friday and we are 3 ears shy of 100 ears. We still have a final pick-through to be done in a couple of days. I finally finished my red beets and Rick has been digging potatoes. Oh, and I tried dehydrating some of the corn; it worked out beautifully. The finished corn is crunchy and really good, almost nutty. Rick loves dried corn, so I wanted to see if I could do it. I started on Thursday afternoon around 2:00 and finished it at 3:30 Friday morning...it took forever!

So today, I have nothing going on in the garden, at least as far as I know.
  • On my second load of laundry, still have cat blankies and towels to wash
  • A good cleaning in the kitchen
  • Vacuum, swiffer, etc.
  • Make the dough for pizza for dinner tonight

90 something today so up early to water the grass and make a run to Fleet Farm for sunflower seeds. The bags are 25 pounds, heavy but moveable. At home I transferred the seeds into empty Kitty litter jugs, filled the sunflower feeder and the peanut feeder while I was out there. Sprinkled a little of both on the ground for the squirrels. Picked up some fallen branches, swept out the garage and that is it for outdoors today.

Laundry later this afternoon.

I've got to get back into storage unit upstairs and get rid of more stuff as well.....trying to make room for a double decker cat stroller in my closet ,cat hammocks ,extra litter boxes n other stuff thsts really in my way .... I have 3 cat strollers, one is too wide for the walkways( a side by side double) and I only use the small one for Bella ,Sami rather walk,Graycie and Max don't care about going for walks all the time

Got the erroneously charged check reversed out of my checking account and my balance restored this morning. They actually got it taken care of within an hour which was great. Did some back and forth messaging with my sister and our attorney regarding our guardian/conservator emergency petition on Wednesday. Mowed and picked up branches as well

Rick is in town. He stopped off in the brush area to drop off a huge tub of walnuts and then will be grabbing a few things at the grocery store. Yesterday, I changed the bed sheets and washed the dirty ones. I thoroughly cleaned the kitchen; it hasn't been cleaned like that in a couple months. Usually it's a lick and a promise. I de-scaled the Ninja and washed all the attachments, so it was ready for Dear Richard to make coffee this morning. The stove also needed a good cleaning: peroxide, baking soda, and Dawn. And then I went into the bathroom and did the same thing.
  • One load of laundry
  • Vacuum, swiffer, etc.
  • After Rick comes back from town, we're going out to the garden to pick the rest of the corn. We'll husk it together. Then, while he's working outside (crawling through the lima bean patch!), I'll blanch, cut, and freeze on cookie sheets. Later on, we'll put it through the FoodSaver for freezing. And that will be it for the corn.
  • The pool needs to be vacuumed. I'll do it when I'm done with the corn (and any lima beans Rick finds).
  • Working on a Costco list. We're going to take a day next week and go out for breakfast and then go to Costco instead of Sam's.
For some reason, I'm not as tired as I used to be. I can pretty much go all day without a nap now. When it's my morning to get up with the girls for their breakfast at 6:00, I do go back to bed and try to sleep for another couple of hours. But it's taking longer for me to go back to sleep and I'll often just get back out of bed and stay up. I have fairly good nights where I can actually fall asleep and on the mornings when Rick feeds the girls, I'll get out of bed around 8:30. That's pretty good for me. I guess I'm getting used to the fatigue from Keytruda. It's not nearly as bad as it was.

But if somebody would have told me that I'd be getting out of bed at 8:30 in the morning, I would have said, "No way!" I used to be up around 6:00 and that was that. I've learned that I'm retired and I do what I want, when I want, and how I want. And if something doesn't get done today, well, there's always tomorrow.

On Sunday, when I was putting a coffee cake together, Rick gave me a hug and said, "It's nice to see you back in the kitchen again!" And not just because I was making something sweet for him (although that's a plus). It's just that I was doing something that I enjoy doing.
