neely neely I want you to know that I have been praying for you. :hugs:

nurseangel nurseangel Thank you so much, your thoughtfulness means a lot to me. :hugs: When I walked in the house after being at the gym I immediately looked over where Carleton should be sleeping by the patio door and cried non-stop. I can't get over the fact that he's gone. Sometimes life is so cruel. 😿

- Got up early to go to the gym.
- Came home and changed the furnace filter since it's been so hot I want to keep it maintained.
- Doing laundry now.

1) Have to clean the bedroom and cat proof it for my new cat. She arrives on Sunday.
2) Going to my friend's place to get my kitty fix until then. She has three adorable cats - Juliet, Romeo and Creed.
3) Laundry at said friend's place, LOL!
4) Play Bird Cage Tetris. I have to make room for cat stuff and I'm selling one of the cages!

My plans to work on my chairs today have been dashed. Seems I have a beeping going on in the garage coming from the garage door back up battery. I did not know I had one. It’s ten feet up on the rafters. I don’t know what kind of battery it takes. I have to find my manual. Or I have to decide to call a garage door company and pay an exhoribant price for them to do it. sigh.

Update: Manual located, video watched, battery ordered and son will attempt to install it next week.

1. The dog is gone. We looked for him yesterday when we went to the Weird Table Store to buy tomatoes. I am hoping he was separated from his family and they found him. DH must have dumped out a whole bag of food for him, because a lot of it was still where he put it. He said the dog was skin and bones. Oh, and he's brown. And bigger than our sweet RB dog, Bo. That's about all DH could tell me about him. People are pretty bad to steal breed dogs around here, so maybe he escaped and is now safely back home. If we see him again, we will try to find his owners or keep him because we are not going to let him go hungry. We even have a double fence line like prison, so he could be completely separated from any cats. We can't afford any more animals, but we aren't going to let him starve. I also vowed never to get another dog after DH called me to let me know he was rushing Bo to the emergency vet. I could hear our dog in the background. I never want to go through that again. Best move on to other things.
2. DH is sick. He is one of these people who almost never gets sick, but when he does, it's blah. Sometimes it ends up with him in the hospital for days. I am worried. He had to cancel his PT appointment today.
3. Bob is being his usual self. He attacked Elsie. She isn't really afraid of him, but she screamed and ran. He was alone in the kitchen and started to wail. I gave him a spring toy. Then, he got hungry and dug a big rock out of the litter box and pretended he was going to eat it. He may be smarter than me, but I don't eat rocks out of a litter box. Even if it is just a dramatic hint at wanting to have breakfast. Now I ask you, did I do that because I want to go to Bob Evans? No, I ate a muffin. I also tried to eat tomatoes, until Bob stuck his big hand in and took a piece out of my bowl. He put it on my sofa! Tomato on MY sofa! They have dry food down at all times, so he is not starving. That is good litter, too. What's up with the big rock? 🪨 I don't know what they've got going on. The day, as you can see, is getting off to an unpleasant start.

Work, work and work, are the three things (apart from checking on Tigger when I get home from work, she had the bright idea again of leaping down the whole stairs despite her bad leg, then spent the morning limping a bit, she's done this multiple times before, vet always tells her it was a silly thing to try doing and sends her home with instructions to rest)

vampiric_conure vampiric_conure do you have conures? I love them! A few years ago, I saw a little boy walking into a smoke shop with a bird 🐦 on his shoulder and so naturally, I followed him. I told the man at the counter that a boy had walked in with a beautiful bird! He was a relative and got the boy from the back room. The bird climbed right up on my shoulder. It was some type of conure; I can't remember which type. I was so excited. I asked how it knew to climb on my shoulder and the boy told me she just did what she wanted without ever having been trained. I felt really special. :cloud9:

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry- despite the awful start of your day you still manage to make others laugh-Bless your heart

Bob is quite the drama king and I have no idea what's going on with that big hunk of litter- obviously Bob thought it pretty unusual too,,got your attention even if he didn't get exactly what he wanted🤣

I'm sorry your hubby doesn't feel well,I hope it just passes quickly without incident- saying a prayer for him and well wishes for good health❤

Kwik Kwik Thank you so much for the prayers. I will let DH know and he will certainly appreciate them, too. I can hear him coughing even in the living room, but when I go in to see if he needs anything, he says he just wants to sleep.

Oh, Bob got what he wanted. DH always feeds the cats, but since he is sick, I gave them their Fancy Feast Appetizers for breakfast. The only difference is, DH way overfeeds them. And he will say, this one likes the tuna flavored, this one likes beef. :paranoid: Bob just had to wait until I finished my muffin and attempted to eat the tomatoes. I gave them a smaller amount of wet food, whatever random type I pulled out of the bag, but there is still some they didn't finish. You are right about Bob being a drama king. The squeaky wheel does get the grease. Now Bob is sleeping peacefully somewhere all cute, leaving me to wonder what he will want next.

Trimmed 3 trees today,,they were well past the 2 ND story so I cut them back down to about 7 ft and shaped them with the foliage nicely rounded and about 3feet above the ground- look very neat

That's my 3, things ( outside)and that's enough for today..... just about ready to mulch,I finished the entire building and just have a couple more trees out back and then might remove an old gladiola thats seen it's day and put in an Agave ( maintenance free things-since nobody around here does ant maintenance- ha!)

Of course,my pleasure!
Do you have a Covid test at home- I know CVS & Walgreens around here gives them away for free( don't know if they do it all over? You would think so,right?)

I just thought I'd mention it because I know a couple of people very recdntly who started coughing, felt awful fluish & turned out to be Covid- thank goodness it seems a weak strain and passes rather quickly with no terrible symptoms
....do ya think?

We had that. We ordered ours from Amazon....... No problem with installing. The only one I knew about before it went was the 9 volt in the keypad!

Mine is coming from Amazon as well. You think you know most things about home ownership and then something pops up you know absolutely nothing about. And it beeps every 30 seconds!

DH is feeling a lot better now and he did eat dinner. (Four for five dollars frozen pizza.) He declared it delicious. I can't take credit. It's Ms. Dash. I sprinkle it on cheap frozen pizza and it takes it to a whole new level. 😋

He really must have been sick this morning, though. He insists that I let his friend in the house. He said his friend talked to him. My cats are afraid of people and I don't let anyone in unless absolutely necessary. Not even family. He did talk to his friend...on the phone. Even now that he is looking and feeling markedly better, he still thinks I let his friend or someone else in the house. :confused2:

Oh goodness. I hear thunder! I am scared and must go hide. Time for bed really early!

So far this morning, I have rescued Bree from Bob, given out treats because everyone is so sweet, (sweet, I said) they are so, so sweet! And because I am out of chocolate candy, I ate a tablespoon of Nestlé Quik. I don't know why my day sounds depressing. :dunno:

In addition to dementia aunty drama yesterday, early evening I did a bunny rescue from my oversized window egress pit. Over the years a number of rabbits have fallen in and couldn’t get out, and end up eaten during the night. I do have a crate down there that they could jump on to potentially get out but yesterday’s bunny just couldnt make it. I was not about to climb in, it’s nearly 4.5 feet deep, so I spent some time from above trying to stack something that wouldn’t tip if the rabbit jumped on it. Finally worked it out and the rabbit jumped out within minutes of me leaving.

Not much on todays agenda, rowed this morning, maybe some grocery shopping this afternoon.

Power was out for 21 hours, got it back at 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Dinner get-together was - let's say disheveled. I had made 3 bean salad, rice and green pea salad, carrot and raisin salad on Tuesday evening while the generator was on. Made butterscotch pudding on Wednesday morning, lighting stove top burner with a match. Note to self - that would be an issue if I had an induction cook top as see to be popular right now.

Call from the couple - their driveway is a mess, they're canceling so he can work on it and she can help. I urged them to come and get food to take home as surely she would not want to cook. She agreed.

Hung up, poached shrimp, cooled with only tray of ice cubes. Packed everything in clean yogurt containers so nothing to return.

Strained lime cucumber infused water and packed that in a no-return-necessary bottle.

Then I registered for a library zoom presentation at 7:00 p.m.

They came, got food, left.

At 6:30 p.m. the doorbell rings. It's our older neighbor who says "Didn't you get my RSVP e-mail?" Well, no. Her daughter and s-i-l had e-mailed their regrets but said they'd be sure to see that mother was told.

So - I get out wine glasses for the bottle of prosecco she brought (not a wine I like.) Sliced a couple of very nice avocados, plated, tortilla chips, sliced lime. Asked whether she wanted rice or pasta, finally settled on pasta as her daughter and s-i-l are into healthy eating and rice is on the menu but not pasta. Cooked that, cooked more shrimp, brought out 3 bean salad. Dessert was butterscotch pudding (didn't set very well) and blackberries.

While we were eating other couple telephoned to say "Thank you" and how much everyone - the two of them and two helpers -enjoyed the food.

She went home to feed the dogs about 10:00 p.m. I cleaned up, ran the dishwasher, went to bed.

Never did get to watch the zoom presentation.

And that was yesterday. Today I'm doing laundry, refilled hummingbird feeder with fresh sugar water solution, and will do this and that this afternoon.

I used to breed Green Cheek Conures! I've not bred them in years, but I still have a love for the Conure family. I have a conure now, too. Charlie is my peach front Conure and he is a ripe 24 years old. He's cranky and cage-aggressive, but a hoot to talk to :)

Today will be a day of mopping and **Gasp!!!!** getting the new cat. I don't know how I will survive with my patience (or lack thereof) until her former owner drops her off. I have plans for where everything will go, have hide spots all set up in the bedroom aaaaand I have some of my supplies on hand.

Then to survive the first week. Joooooooy.....
