Yesterday afternoon I ended up getting a number of procrastinated things done - appointments scheduled, prescriptions ordered, tax paperwork downloaded . This morning I go to the dementia aunty’s house to pull together her tax paperwork, figure out why her answering machine isn’t working and do whatever else she needs done. She lives near a great thrift shop so I will stop there on my way back as a reward.

We didn't do much of anything yesterday. I was so hungry for anything chocolate that I made a pan of chocolate brownies. It's a old Betty Crocker recipe and it makes great brownies.

Rick just left to go up to his mom's. She called last night to say that one of the aides figured out what was going on with her Kindle and it's working OK. But Rick went up to spend about an hour or so with her. I told him I'd drive him up, but he says he can drive fine. And his vertigo is pretty much gone.

But he got a sub for bowling tonight. He didn't want to get there, start bowling, and have to quit and have me pick him up. So we'll probably watch Expedition X and then do an early night.
  • Changed the bed sheets
  • Walked into the computer room this morning and Muffin pooped on the floor in one of the litterboxes and then turned around and peed in the boot tray. Honestly, I could have wrung her neck. If somebody else pees in the front of the litterbox, she refuses to go in that box. Never mind that there's room in the back. Thankfully it was in the boot tray and not on the floor; pooping on the floor was bad enough. We have three cats; somebody is going to use those litterboxes, sometimes very early in the morning. She needs to get over herself. Brat. Anyway, I got everything cleaned up, tossed the boot tray outside to dry in the sun. And then, while I was at it, I cleaned the boxes.
  • Vacuum, swiffer
I'm doing fairly well with the house work and laundry, although my legs do get rubbery from time to time, esp coming up the stairs. Still have nausea some days. And I do get tired. Good days and not-so-good days.

I think I finally got my phone straightened out!! After 2 trips to the Verizon store, 2 trips to the Apple Store, and another trip to the Verizon store, with documentation that it is a Carrier Issue, not an issue with the phone!! I literally blew my top at them at the Verizon store. All they wanted me to do was give up on my phone and buy a new one. Apple said there is nothing wrong with the hardware on my phone, and that it could last another 2-3 years. I told them that I felt as if they have seen this issue with many other phones, and should have recognized the problem. Especially since it began right after they switched to a 5G network. Many phones are having the same problem. All they are doing are jerking them around, until the owners get frustrated and the store will tell them their phone is obsolete. This is how they get them to buy a new phone.. do not trust Verizon.

I blew my top at the Verizon store.. Their excuse was that it is is an authorized 'Dealer", not a corporate store!! I was furious!
I had documentation from Apple as to what the problem was. And a solution to fix it.. They had the nerve to accuse me of being "nasty" to them!! OMG... the nerve. I would not back down.

The Verizon store had to call the Corporate Store to find out what the solution was... They also wanted me to buy a new phone telling me that my phone was 'obsolete'.. but when Apple was mentioned with the documentation, in writing, on Apple Letterhead, they HAD to find a fix..

I left there so furious at them.. As I was leaving I said, " I am not the only one who comes into this store with the same issue. You should have known it, immediately.."

So far, fingers crossed: I have not lost service.....

Exhausted after dealing with this for 4 days.. Did not sleep well. Went to bed a normal time, but could not fall asleep.. Up, watching TV until 2 am. Alarm went off at 6 am.. stayed in bed, not sleeping, until after 7am...

Played Cornhole..
Need to finish up regular chores and pay some bills..
Perhaps cuddle with Geoffrey for a bit, in between.

Tomorrow will be groceries..

My Jeep has been parked until the replacement engine arrives today at the mechanic's. Drove the Jeep to the hangar this morning so I could go straight to the mechanic's after work with the wife following me. Jeep ran well enough on the way t work. A mile down the freeway, it goes into limp mode, running poorly. Stopped at Golden Corral for an early supper and called the tow truck. Three hours later and still waiting.

Hell, it could be worse. Jeep did get me through 5 days of hard wheeling in Sand Hollow and the three hour drive home. She's a good and faithful girl and deserves a refreshed engine👍

Slept in till 10AM. Forgot to go to bed until 6AM. My fault, was watching a bunch of Howard Stern interviews of various music artists and enjoying the commentary and music and lost track of time.
Got up and took a friend to a doctors appointment.
Got blocked in at the doctors office, I knew I should have backed into the spot. About 20 jogs back and forth got me out and on my way. As I was driving away I saw that the person who blocked me in got out of their car. Ahhhhh! I never noticed they were in their car.

And the worst is they never noticed you wanting to get in your car to leave- probably busy on their phone in " all about ME" world! Sheesh

Last week I went to the convenience store and there are 3handicapped spaces right in front- all full but noticed a guy sitting in his car in one( no handicapped tag hanging or lic plate) so I lighfly tooted the horn,completely ignored me..... And I noticed the same in another of the other space,a guy eating his lunch!- People nowadays are so inconsiderate its beyond my comprehension!

Finally the legitimately handicapped person came out & I parked- as I hobbled by with my walker I said to the other 2- many people are handicapped and need the space you are sitting in...." oh,MY BAD" as he still didn't move and tye other moron continued to eat his lunch!!!!

  • Had cardiology appt this morning. It went well, with a change in BP meds. I really like my cardiologist...she’s a hoot.
  • Stopped at a favorite ice cream place for chocolate marshmallow for me and peanut butter Oreo for Rick. They make their own waffle cones, so we brought some home, too.
  • Down to Giant to pick up new BP meds. While I was at it, I picked up a hoagie to split with Rick, a box of instant potato flakes, and a gallon of cooking oil for my doughnuts. I’ve decided to make doughnuts on Tuesday. We are to get a mix, turning to snow, starting Monday night. Perfect day to bake (or fry, as the case may be).
  • Two loads of laundry

Physical therapy, second appointment, today.

On the way home I stopped at the liquor store to get some beer for Sunday, when I'll get another rack of ribs at the volunteer fire company's Superbowl Sunday Barbecue. And a friend will join us to help eat them.

And I made a very delicious dinner - tilapia dusted with flour, dipped in beaten egg, coated with bread crumbs and fried. Rice. Asparagus. And a little side dish of mayonnaise, horseradish, lemon juice to embellish the fish. Oops, should have put this in What's for Dinner. Oh well. It makes three.

Tried catching up on work after being out on vacation - it does not pay to take vacation you spend so much time trying to catch up.
Went to the store for a couple of things and grabbed some beautiful flowers, Rita the gal at the market was putting them out for display and she pointed out a beautiful bouquet - so glad she did. Planning a trip in June - CO first then to Montana - it's so darn big cannot decide what to see only spending a few days in each state. Any suggestions on Montana - things to see?

We haven't really been doing all that much.
  • Rick's turn to get up with the girls. After breakfast, Molli came back and we lounged for a while I dragged my lazy butt out of bed.
  • I need to gather my donut-making supplies together to make sure I have everything I need: biscuit cutter, donut cutter, spider, the thing I use to fill my donuts, all that good stuff. Gather it all today, so I won't have to go rooting around for stuff on Tuesday.
  • Make dough for pizza. I have new yeast and will be looking for a better spring to my dough. I was getting a decent spring from the old yeast, but had to add more yeast to the liquid to get it.

Rowed this morning then picked up, vacuumed with both the electric and the battery operated vacuums, dusted and move everything back in place. May do more sample staining for my table this afternoon.

My new sofa has 6" legs( which I hate),I don't like any space where the cats could crawl into and I cannot reach in case of.... ( well,you never know)

So yesterday I bought 3 2x4's.My intention is to fill in the gap so I'd like to paint them today( black)....

I'd also like to straighten out the pile of shelves on the floor of my front room and maybe paint the brackets white- we had so much to do Saturday we never got to the cat shelves

So I may or may not attempt to make room in the front room closet to store the shelves as I'm not sure how long it will be for my cousin to come back down to do my cat perch wall

I'll probably quit after painting the lumber,lol

Yesterday was a busy day:
Church,
Medicated Geoffrey
went to the Celebration of Asian New Year in my building. It was a fun 2 hours. Dragon dance done by Northeastern University troupe, and I ended up on the dance floor doing the "ribbon" dance.. Me, with my 2 left feet.. I just do my own thing, and not the instruction... I made a fool of myself, but had a great time...
They also had a 'craft' table, where we made Chinese lanterns.. and they provided some spring rolls, fried rice.. and Chinese hard candies. fortune cookies, and had free raffles for Chinese little items. It was fun. WE all got a Chinese good fortune bracelet. Sweet.

Then up to a friends apartment for a visit. There were the 4 of us (my friend group). We had such a great time. Did not get home until almost 5pm.. Geoffrey was a good boy. He stayed on my bed, but nibbled some food. He was pouting; ignoring me for about half an hour.. Then, he was stuck like glue to me.. sweet boy..

Needless to say--- nothing got accomplished.
~~~~~
Today:
Regular morning stuff.
Have to do a good vacuuming, as I did not get to it yesterday. Litter is rampant in here; and the litter box needs a touch more litter-- I did a deep clean last week. Geoffrey goes through litter very fast. I had used an entire 18 lb box.
Going to attend a 'cooking' class from the Rabbi in here. I want to see how she makes Kosher Lentil Soup--- It is something different to do. A friend is also attending. We should have a good time.
Then we will see.
I do not want to move my car, because I have a fairly good parking spot. We are getting a NorEaster snow storm tonight, tomorrow...Mostly tomorrow.. ugh..
Supper: who knows.. perhaps Mac & cheese from the freezer, or I have some leftover pizza. Probably the pizza.
We're also supposed to get weather that will be keeping us at home. Thus this morning I am drinking my coffee, bed sheets in washer and in about 45 minutes we are heading out to Wal-Mart and Costco. I'm making a list, hoping nothing will be missed . . . Himself wants to gas up the Tucson plug-in. This will be interesting, first fuel up since he bought it in January. Did I mention that he rewired - was it the 240v outlet in the garage or got a different connector? one or the other or both. Anyhow the Tucson now charges much more quickly than before. As you would expect, 120 vs 240. Stay tuned for future developments.
