I think I will pick away at Christmas decorating today. I have already started removing fall things and have set out a few Christmas but much more to do. And of course there is always vacuuming and dusting waiting.

Yesterday was a blah day. I felt like hanging inside, not doing anything; but it did not turn out that way.
I went out-- late morning, to finish up the errands which did not get done on Friday. I also made a crazy trip to the grocery store. I ran out of yogurt. I am on a yogurt kick for breakfast. It was Saturday, so it was mobbed!!

I was going to make a frittata for supper; but, I was so tired, that I just had a bunch of cheese and crackers. It was going to be an early night, for me; having put on pjs so early. Again, did not turn out that way..

A friend, who lives in the building called, asking if she could come over to talk to me. Of course, I said Yes. She came over and gave me a beautiful empty gift bag, which she hand decorated, with a gorgeous paper bow! The bag included tissue paper, and decorations on the bow! Gorgeous! She does this as a hobby. We chatted for a while..

*up early for Mass
* medicate Geoffrey
* out to church
* home to finish mowing chores
* out to history museum with a friend. They are selling historical Christmas ornaments.
* Then, an early supper/ late Christmas lunch at a restaurant.

Home, more meds for Geoffrey, and collapse.
Tomorrow, I do not have any plans. I really need a day to rest.. and not do anything. To cuddle and be a pain to Geoffrey..

I have been so busy the past few weeks, that I need rest time. I do not sleep well, so just to hang out, will be a luxury to me. I also have not even had time to take a nap. I have pretty much been on the go, every day, since before Thanksgiving. I am grateful for being busy.

A friend offered to finish painting( well,do what he can) what uI started before I just couldn't do anymore and quit-the only free time he has is on Sundays- and I'm soooooo not up for it

But what can you do? I would never say " not in the mood today" when he's offered me his only day off so generously & thoughtfully- never look a gift horse in the mouth!

So,I'll do what I can to help as I can.....and no doubt it's more than 3things for today,lol..... maybe he's not really in the mood himself and we can just organize for another date by prepping stuff etc ahd painting the shelves I want to put up ...I have shelves and cat bridge with wall cubbies for a vertical cat highway for my front room that's been sitting there for awhile

I went out shoe shopping this morning. Looking for some loafer type that will keep my feet relatively warm when it is cold but dry out. Four stores and not a darn pair of shoes. Lots of perfect styles in the mens section but not small enough for me. Apparently us ladies wear only need cotton shoes or high heeled boots.

Got a few more Christmas things set out and made a stab and organizing Christmas gifts.

Did you look in the boys section? All my sneakers & work boots are little boys!!! Funny thing is so many ladies ask me " where did you find those cool kicks"? Haha

It's a cooler day today. We've been dealing with rain for the last few days, about 1/2-inch total.
  • Rick got up with the girls, then, after breakfast, Molli came back to bed with me until 8:00 or so. I'm eating a slice of toast and enjoying my coffee.
  • I took two pounds of butter out of the freezer to thaw and soften. I'll probably make cookie batters tonight and then spend the rest of the week baking them off. Went downstairs to grab a 5-pound bag of flour out of the freezers there.
  • Dr appt today. Afterward, we'll stop at Giant for odds and ends. Nothing big.

It snowed overnight and I am trying to decide if it is worth cleaning up. Nothing on today’s agenda except exercise and finishing up going through gifts and getting them ready to be wrapped. Might run to the mall though and take a look at shoes.

Awakened to a few flurries this morning. Nothing big and most of them have already stopped. I think we're to get 1/2-inch or so.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am back here with my coffee. The last two times I've made coffee for Dear Richard I've forgotten to put it in the fridge afterward. Rick doesn't drink hot or even warm coffee. I finally remembered to get said coffee to the fridge this morning. :woohoo: Sometimes it really is the little things.
  • Took more butter out to soften. And took the white chip macadamia batter out of the fridge. After I'm done here, I'm going to start baking cookies. I quadrupled the recipe last night because everybody loves those things. They're not a Christmas cookie per se, but people, esp Rick's mom, would be so disappointed if there weren't any, even at Christmas. And then make a batch of Hollidoodles to bake off tomorrow.
  • Rick is going to bowl tonight, so I'm doing an early night

Waiting for an Amazon delivery. I should have been done with them last week but they lost or misdelivered one of my items and had to reorder. While I wait there is laundry to do and some things to be done in the basement.

My brother came over and helped DH put the mattress in a box on the bed. :woohoo:
Chicken pie in the oven.
Still mulling over Christmas gifts. There are some of those "who gets what gifts" - mainly for the Dirty Santa exchange. My SIL has offered to pick up something to go with a few of the gifts that need a little extra.

Yea, I thought I had just about all of my Christmas shopping done; except for a few bottles of wine.. for me and Christmas visitors. and for gifts...
Found out this morning, during Corn Hole, that the President of the Tenants Association is now planning to have a baby shower for Dining Room Manager.. She is due in early February... The shower is on 12/20.!! I am so upset.. Not that I am against the Baby shower, but it show wait until AFTER Christmas!! Not before.. WE are shelling out so much money for donations: Firemen, Toys for Tots, Money for NYE party, Contribution to my church for Catholic Charities-- I got a family for Christmas, Personal gifts for staff. It seem that everywhere you turn, there are more donations..
I feel this president just does things as She wants, and not as the general population. She has already scheduled the shower... UGH..
That same day, I have: Cornhole, The monthly Mass ( I am in charge of it), AND now the 'Shower" immediately after Cornhole...
The President was informed that we have all these things that day--- Yet< she still insists on having it.. I think I am going to email here...dam her..

That's the most selfish ,inconsiderate move she made and purposely it seems- shameful ..... I'm sorry, she got something against Christmas?

Try not to be upset-I know it's really aggravating but she surely needs prayers!!!I'm sorry for the killjoy lady

Yeah, I sent her a text message last night.. It took here 2.5 hours to reply back!! She put the blame on the 2 women who work in the store. She said it was 'their' idea, and she was just trying to find out how many people would be interested.. Do I believe her?? A very strong NO, to that question. She also said that they thought the mom-to-be will be delivering early. I think her due date is in late January, early February.

I think I am going to talk with the supposedly 'organizers' of this shower. It they want a shower, do it in January. After all, it is not her first child. She has a daughter who is 6 years old. I am not into giving showers for second babies.

UGH... always drama in this building.

artiemom artiemom I have a "thing" against showers for the second, third, etc. baby. Same thing with second, third, etc. weddings. I hope she'll agree to push it into January. Tell her that it'll give people a little something to look forward to after the holidays. But really, I see no need at all. Gift grab.

We awakened to around 3 inches of white stuff outside with more coming down. Bleah.
  • Rick got up with the girls. But evidently, I had had enough sleep because I got up, too. Sitting back here with my coffee.
  • Two loads of laundry to do.
  • Hollidoodles to bake. (Rick was going to take the white chip macadamias that I baked yesterday up to his mom this morning. I think he'll wait until tomorrow and take them and the doodles up after my medical appt.)
Took a large beef chuck out of the freezer, along with a bit of pickled cabbage and one of the very last containers of apple sauce to thaw in the fridge. My sister is coming over this weekend to make a huge pot of beef pot pie, so the apple sauce and cabbage will be served alongside. I also took a huge bag of quartered tomatoes from the garden out of the freezer to thaw on a large cookie sheet in the fridge. When they're ready, we could use 5 quarts or so of pasta sauce, probably Monday.

Mia6 Mia6 Hollidoodles are made with snickerdoodle cookie dough. The only difference is that snicks are rolled in cinnamon and sugar. Hollidoodles are rolled in red/green/multi sugars for the holidays. Rick loves them, too!
