Nothing much for our New Year's Day. Rick got up with the girls.

We made it until around 1:00 before going to bed. Did our 51st New Year's kiss! :redheartpump: Didn't watch any movies after all. We sat around and chatted with the TV on, but didn't really watch much. Enjoyed our food. An uneventful, but still enjoyable for us, New Year's Eve. We're old, I guess, and that's OK, too.
  • I have the pork braising in the oven and will add the sauerkraut in about 30 minutes or so. I'm planning on eating early today.
  • Must scoop boxes at some point.
  • While Dear Richard is watching football this afternoon, I'm going out to the Shed to (probably) watch some DVDs.
And that will be our day. Nothing major. Just a relaxing Sunday.

Yesterday, I got rid of a bunch of leftovers from the fridge that we're not going to finish. I knew I wasn't going to eat them, Rick said he was done with them. Out they went. Fridge is cleaned out and I wiped it down. Ready for 2023.
  • Weighed myself this morning. Ewwww :scale:
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee.
  • One of two loads of laundry is in the washer.
  • I think we're going into town today. Rick messed up with the ordering of the mats in the kitchen and we have to return two pieces. I will say those mats are really nice and I'm pleased. I've been in the kitchen quite a bit, standing while doing things, walking back and forth. While I still have some lower back issues (that will never completely go away), my back doesn't feel nearly as bad. Nor do my legs.
  • I'm going to take the ornaments off the TWT this afternoon. If I can talk Dear Richard into taking the tree down, I'll do a good vacuum and swiffer in the Shed.

Bed sheets swishing around in washing machine. When they go in the dryer

I'll go to Wal-Mart to return 2 pair of blue jeans Himself bought just before New Year's. When I gave them their pre-wear light wash the dye ran so one pair has light blotches and the other has light / dark streaks. As long as I'm there I'll pick up a few items.

One last holiday vignette to pack up, then get all boxes into storage tubs under the stairs.

One more load of laundry.

Back to the yearly routines.

game misconduct game misconduct I'm so sorry. I hope she will be OK. :hugs: to you and to your GF.

I was going to take the TWT down yesterday, but never made it to the Shed. Instead, Rick brought some totes up from the basement and we started taking Christmas things down in the house. Basically a bit of decor from the living room and kitchen. I put some of the Winterberry away, things that I knew I wouldn't use anymore this season. Still have the dishes out. Will probably work on kitchen swags and such today.
  • Sitting back here with my coffee. It's raining and bleak. Rainy days are good for flopping on the couch with a good book.
  • Work on taking down Christmas stuff from the kitchen
  • Rick's sister just called. They're coming down to visit this afternoon. And his BIL has a box of goodies for us that he worked on. I know there's bacon and kielbasa. Not sure of what else. He said he likes to take care of his "help".

Made to and from my eye exam appointment on treacherous snow covered roads. At some points coming home it was nearly a white out and a block later no snow. Expecting 10 or more inches today. Not sure if I will get anything else done today.

Power went out yesterday about 5:00 p.m. Didn't get it back until about 3:30 p.m. today. When I went into town mid-morning, to go to the IGA and the post office, there were about 6 or more JCP&L trucks clustered together on the adjacent street. Included a trailer with a moderate size yellow digger machine. And a yellow geodesic shaped tent set up too. Turns out the damaged line is underground but not sure exactly where. So once they find it, I was told, they'll fix it.

P.S. Give the men credit. It's been raining all day. I powered my car's window down and said I appreciated their good work. Lineman smiled and said they appreciated my patience.

Glad we have a whole house generator.

game misconduct game misconduct C'mon in! We'll be here!
How's your GF's mom doing?

C catapault That's a long time to be with no power! Glad everything is OK.

I took the ornaments off the TWT in the Shed last night while finishing up the first season of Destination Truth. And while I was doing that, Rick was doing some un-decorating on the tree in the living room. We're getting there. Rick said he'll go out today and take the tree apart and take it back into the basement.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am back here with my coffee
  • Change the bedsheets and wash the dirty ones
  • We were going to take that package into FedEx on Monday to be returned to WeatherTech, but FedEx was closed for the holiday. We were going to do it yesterday, but it poured pretty much all day. The plan now is to take it in this morning. But we'll see how it goes. Hopefully we'll get to Lowes for that new water filter for the fridge.

Day two of three day snowstorm. I had to get the big snow blower out last night and this morning there is again as much as yesterday. So snow clearing at some point during the day. I didn’t do the patio or clear the bird feeders yesterday but I really have to today because they look like this. Other than that I started a new puzzle yesterday and have a bit of laundry to do.

not sure yet the er is so packed they just have her on a bed in the er. i guess the day before yesterday gf's dad called her telling her that her mom couldnt stand or walk any more and that he couldnt manage being the care giver any more which is understanable. its not easy so they talked about getting her into a convalescent home to give her the 24 hour care she needs now .then 2 am last night he called saying her eyes are rolling back into her head and she is shaking. sad thing is her mind isnt totally gone yet she still knows her family etc. can eat still if fed but it might be a mercy if this is the end for her since her quality of life will be rock bottom nearly if she gets discharged to return home she will have to be carried to the bathroom to shower etc. as well as be just bed ridden now .even placing her into aconvalescent home. will be stressful for her since her mind is not that far gone that she wont be aware its not her home. thx for askin about her gf probably will go see her later in the day
