  • My turn to get up with the girls this morning. Breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, scooped the boxes. Muffin and I got out for our morning walk.
  • Watered the plants in the WeShed, filled my water containers, emptied the trash bag, and replaced it.
  • Did an order from Dakin Farms in Vermont. We really like the place and, every time we go up to take a baking class at King Arthur, we stop in and bring stuff home in the cooler. Since we haven't been to Vermont in a while, Rick wanted me to order some things. I got maple syrup, cob-smoked bacon, and several kinds of cheeses. I only ordered a 1/2 gallon of maple syrup; we're planning on hitting our local market on Wednesday (after our two week vaccination period), with masks, and I'll buy a 1/2 gallon of PA syrup, too. That will see me through for a while; we do go through maple syrup around here.
  • Did a quick vacuum about the house, nothing major, while Rick is working up in the garden.

Saturday so no Kaylee today. Her nose is bruised and swollen from the accident no concussion.

None of the gang came around except Rebel, gray tabby, and I saw Roberto, ginger tabby missing
right eye and ear is deformed. He was waiting for Rebel to leave so he could eat.

Will so some light chores and wash some smalls in Dreft.
🐦
I heard the Woodpecker so spring begins!!

I am going to use the excuse of having to go about an hour away to sign our taxes as an excuse to not do much today. Knowing my husband and his propensity to chit chat, we will probably be at the CPA's office for a couple of hours.

I am not going to change out bedsheets but I will change the bath towels. I will at least scrub toilets and wipe down the sinks and showers.

Mia6 Mia6 I'm glad Kaylee is going to be OK.

BRB.....somebody needs a walk!

ETA: It's cooler this morning and the breeze is chilly. But she enjoyed being outside for a while. She loves watching the birds and muttering at the dog. No rooster today.

I'm trying my luck at sprouting Colorado blue spruce pine cones. Why? Bc a GF posted something on FB around sprouting pine cones. And well, I figure it's worth a shot. So I have two pine cones buried halfway in soil in the WeShed. You never know.
  • Not much going on around here. Molli and I lounged until "somebody" came back and told us that I was late with the snacks. Got up, got my clothes and went into the bathroom. When I opened the door, there were two ginger brats and one tabby sitting in the hallway, waiting for their snack. They ran out to the kitchen, followed by Mollipop and me. Gave them their after-breakfast breakfast and had my coffee. About halfway through my coffee, "somebody" came back and started yelling at me. And out we went. That "somebody" is quite the character. Rick calls her my pup because she follows me everywhere.
  • I will spend the afternoon in the WeShed today. While watching some Bones, I'm going to re-arrange books and just do some general cleaning. I vacuumed and swiffered the other day, but want to go through the cabinet out there. Muffin will come out with me.
  • Thinking of making a shoo fly cake. I'm hungry for molasses. And when I mentioned it to Dear Richard, he was all for it. (Because of course he was!)
And that will be our Saturday.

Winchester Winchester I'm rather confused. A pine cone . . . It is not the pine cone itself that sprouts. Each scale of the pine cone - once upon a time - had a seed adjacent to it. Think of pignoli, the pine nuts, that I'm sure you have used in your baking. True, they are pinyon pine but the concept is the same.

C catapault Oh! Well, I feel stupid! My GF told me that she saw something about sprouting pine cones, so I figured I'd give it a shot. :paperbag: That just goes to show you what I know about pinecones!

Day 3 of the Headache from Hades. I'm so tired of the headaches I could scream. Some days I feel that it's not worth getting out of bed. Muffin and I got some work done yesterday in the WeShed. But then I remembered I have Rick's Mom's lily out there on the table, so I scooped her up and took her back into the house. Not taking any chances with lilies. She doesn't get on the table, but still.... And his mother doesn't want the lily back, so there it sits. I think Muffin likes being out there; she meows as she investigates, but calms down quickly. She'll lay on the couch, but she's never really fallen asleep out there. Yesterday, she was yelling at the woodpecker at the suet outside the window. She was not amused. And, of course, the woodpecker never paid a bit of attention to her and that made her yell that much more. Mia6 Mia6 We have several woodpeckers around here, so much that we bought a high protein suet that's supposed to be what the woodpeckers like. They've been here all winter. We also have the cardinals and blue jays hanging out, but also finches, wrens, sparrows, starlings, and even pair of doves. There are some other birds, too, but I can't remember them all. We have six suet feeders and we try to keep them full. Muffin likes the feeders outside the WeShed window. She can lay on the back of the couch and yell at the birds without moving a muscle. Other than the tail; the tail never stops.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee and a chunk of shoofly cake. I need to scoop. I'm thinking that in another hour or so, Muffin and I will go outside for our walk. She'll need the blankie this morning.
  • First of three loads of laundry is in the washer. Rick will strip the bed when he drags his butt out.
  • Finish off the grocery list as Monday is grocery day
Nothing exciting.

Winchester Winchester Last spring was the first year that I actually had Woodpeckers hang out, they were
black and white striped and very mouthy. I have about 3 cardinal and 3 blue jay couples at all
times as they don't migrate.Last spring or early summer there was a pair of orioles but they
didn't stay. I had never seen them before.

Those headaches must be horrible. Maybe you can go to Cleveland Clinic's Headache Unit
since you've been vaccinated. I had one yesterday and this morning but they are weather related
and all I need are 2 Advil Liquid Gel Caps and a glass of Coke. I hope it ends soon. :hugs: ❤

Since I didn't have time yesterday, I changed the bedding today. Got to make my husband's birthday cake for tonight. But my main goal was to tackle our outdoor shed and clean it out. Hadn't been done in at least 15 years based on some of the stuff I found in there. Looks so nice and organized now.

Mia6 Mia6 I've been to two local allergists, a neurologist, and a migraine specialist. And nothing. Nobody seems to know what to do with me. The migraine specialist said right out that I don't qualify for any kind of study or anything bc I'm not really affected by the headaches (in her opinion). As long as I could do my job and not miss work (never mind that I went into work in pain for days on end), and I didn't have the headaches often enough during a month to qualify for anything. But it's not always a migraine; sometimes it's just a headache that will last for days on end. And then one morning I wake up and it's gone. And I can't take anything so I just deal. For the most part, it doesn't stop me from doing things, but sometimes, I just have to go to bed with it. This is day 4. It's not real bad, but it's there enough that I know it. And by tonight, it will be bad again.
klunick klunick Please come to our shed and organize! You did a beautiful job! Rick keeps saying that he wants to clean ours out, but never seems to get around to it.
  • I slept in this morning until 9:00! No awakening at all. Other than Amber yelling, but once Rick got up with the girls, I fell back asleep. Must have been really out of it. Got up, gave the girls their after-breakfast breakfast and got dressed.
  • Went for groceries this morning, put everything away, and Muffin and I had our morning walk.
  • We're taking some shoo fly cake to Rick's mom this afternoon and will pick up her Kindle. We may stop at the butcher on our way back home.
As of yesterday, Rick and I have had both vaccines and went through our two-week period for the shots to take full effect. :woohoo:I do think that, at some point, there will be a booster for the variants. Meanwhile, we're thankful to have gotten the vaccines.

I would love to do that. It's so satisfying to throw all the crap away. I don't get to do that nearly as much as I want. My house is already cleared out and I've started working on my husband's storage room. He saves a lot of crap and it drives me nuts. I know he's hiding some stuff from me. I will find it eventually.

Tired this morning. Last time I looked at the clock, it was going on 4:00. Back up at 6:00, listening to Amber, and finally got up at 7:00. We did hit the grocery store and also took shoo fly cake to Rick's mom yesterday when we picked up her Kindle, but didn't hit the butcher. Maybe it's the time change, but man, I'm pooped. No headache, though, so that's good! Supposed to rain today; we need a good soaking rain. With all that wind we've had, we're really getting dry again.
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee.
  • Heading down to Lowes when Rick gets out of bed, followed by Target for his meds. Wish we could get onto the same schedule for meds; I think he's a week behind me.
  • Take Muffin for her walk; we're back to using the pink blankie for walks again.
  • Trash night tonight

Mia6 Mia6 It's mostly gone, just a bit of a twinge here and there, thanks. That's so cute about Rebel. And the squirrel! I just don't know what to think about Kaylee sometimes. No 50s here this week. It's chilly.
artiemom artiemom You OK? Haven't seen you post here for a couple of days.
klunick klunick Is Behind the Wheel a driving class? They don't have Driver Ed in school? Or is that what you call Driver Ed?
  • Muffin and I just came back from our walk. She was strangely quiet this morning; I don't think she peeped. Very alert with the birds. I need to scoop.
  • I want to go into the market with Rick later on this morning, but we're waiting on the FedEx-weenie first. No Lowes yesterday and no Lowes today either.
  • One load of laundry
  • Need to work on Rick's mom's Kindle, so we can get it back to her.

Yes they have Driver's Ed in school but because of Covid, no school means no in school driver's ed. :ohwell: He is taking it through our local community college. He had to take a 30 hour class online/zoom calls and then 6 hours of actual driving training with an instructor. That is what Behind The Wheel is. The actual driving training part. They let the kids drive around on the roads as well as practicing maneuvers like different ways to park on a course within a parking lot type place.

I know..I try not to think about her when she's not here, hee, hee

How is your headache?

regular stuff

dried sheets, played WWF read the news

My nutty neighbor is moving. Her case manager is helping her out with rent for the first month. I asked
how she was going to be able to manage and she told me the monthly amount of her 14 year old son's
death benefit from his late father. She and his dad were divorced before he died. I then told her that was
not to go entirely to her, it was for him. There is also a large amount in a trust for him. Smart guy.
There has been drama over the last week and her son said he would not go back to CS, that he would
kill himself first. I knew he has a form of autism. He has spent time in a psychiatric facility but I didn't know
that till the other day.. I told her she she must tell case manager what he said but she won't. I can't wait
until they leave. He's a sweet kid, deserves better.

Baby skunk came again this morning very sweet. I've named him Sean.
