Kaylee's mom was taken to ER this morning so she won't be in. Washing smalls.

Yesterday and today are beautiful. We are having our Blue Tip Festival this week. Didn't have it last year
because of COVID19.
The Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival

Cal and Tux were on the deck for over and hour this morning. He was sleeping in my chair on the pillow Ihat
placed on it yesterday. I also had one so my back could rest on it. He looked quite cozy.

Winchester Winchester How's it going at the Party Shed?

regular stuff

Kaylee was off yesterday and will not be in till Monday as her mother is in ICU and having surgery on Friday. I' m not sure what is going on but I hope she will be ok.

Cal went out last night around11:00pm, she snuck out. I had come down for a snack and she would not come in when I called her so I went back to bed. Then someone let off a loud an long amount of fireworks. I came down and she ran back in. My girl is so afraid of them.

Nice day today. Will do a few loads of laundry and spend some time out side.

Mia6 Mia6 I hope Kaylee’s mom will be ok. We are dealing with fireworks here, too, on weekends. Fortunately, they don’t bother the girls that much.
artiemom artiemom How is G doing? It is cooler around here and not as humid. I hope it’s the same for you and G.

The guys left yesterday around 11:00. It’s so quiet around here! We had an incredible time with the kids, and we got to know our son’s FIL, too. He’s a hoot! They did some fishing, but we had rain, too, so they couldn’t fish as much as they wanted. They brought a yard game along, so they all spent time with that. And we talked. And talked. And talked. Honestly, we had a great time. OMG, they had me in tears more than once, I was laughing so hard. It was so nice. They love the WeShed, although our grandson says it needs a PS 4. Uh, no, not going to happen. But I loved having them here. (And I did my best to make sure that nobody left the table hungry! Although our son mentioned sticky buns at least 3 times and I didn’t make any.) They are making plans to come back next month; Rick is going to get his fishing license.

Rick’s mom was in hospital to have her battery changed in her pacemaker. She is fine. Rick is going to visit and take the Kindle back.

Our electrician passed away. Cancer. He was only 52. Such a nice guy. Yes, he was our electrician, but he also became a friend. That hurt. He was such a sweetie.

So today….
  • 3 loads of laundry. Rick took the laundry to the basement and I scoot down the steps on my butt. He is not particularly amused by it, but he has outside stuff to do.
  • Vacuum a bit in the WeShed. I want to watch a bit of TV out there tonight.
  • Just some straightening up in the house today. Nothing major. I overdid a lot while the kids were here and without my crutch, so Rick wants me to BEHAVE!

Winchester Winchester So gad you had such a good time! It is about time that happened! Hooray!
Be careful with that leg!!
Even sliding down the stairs on your bum--painful, you can still be putting with on the leg... just worried about you.

Since eliminating the chicken based hairball food, and giving him pepcid twice a day;
Geoffrey is doing much better with the vomiting. The problem now is: I have been feeding him the old formula of Royal Canin Rabbit food. I only have 1/2 of the case left. They changed their formula. I tried a case of the new formula, and he refused it every day, until the case was exhausted---by the garbage disposal...

I found another rabbit food, Freely. This was when RC was in the worldwide shortage. I tried a few cans, he ate it. So I ordered a bunch of it. At one point it was out of stock in Chewy! I panicked and ordered too much.
Now, I am trying to adapt him to it; mixing it 1/2 and 1/2 beginning this morning. We will see how he does with it.

Geoffrey has only vomited on one day of each of the past 2 weekends. No fur balls, mostly liquid. with a bit of loose fur.

The Specialist is reserving comment on his low basophils, until after examination, and most likely blood test and ultrasound.

Today was:
*Breakfast, my meds and Geoffrey's med
*Regular morning stuff
*Down to gym
* shower
*grocery store and errands
*trash
*went out to practice bocce... I stink at it.. so bad..
*Supper was the Cobb salad from yesterday.
*nibbling some chocolate animal crackers...
*wash dishes
*phone calls...
A somewhat busy day..

It is a nice early summer day... in the 70's with an easterly wind, off the water. The Kite surfers are
out there in full force! Very windy.

strider rose strider rose Glad you're feeling better and had it taken care of.
Winchester Winchester Glad you had a good time with your family. Sounds like your sticky buns are famous! I'm glad Evelyn is ok.

Something is wrong with the agitator on the washer. The water fills but the only time the agitator moves is on the drain spin cycle. It drains for the rinse cycle and fills again but no spinning. I've been rinsing then draining the clothes twice, then drain and spin twice.

Nice day today.

@artimom I am glad that G is doing better. I can understand your frustration with the whole thing. I am being as careful as I can. Some things just need to be done and I really hate putting more stuff on Rick. :hugs:
Mia6 Mia6 I guess you could say that my sticky buns are "family-famous". When they left on Wednesday, our son pulled me aside and said, "I'm letting it go this time because of your leg. But next time? There better be sticky buns!" And then he gave me a kiss. He was kidding, but yet letting me know. Snot that he is. I hope you can get your washer fixed! And it doesn't cost you an arm and leg! The Blue Tip Festival sounds and looks interesting; we'd go if we were in the area!

Rick called the nursing home to make an appt for visiting his Mom. They had one this morning at 10:30. That was it. So I rushed around, trying to get books on the Kindle (I wait until the last minute, so she has the full 14 days the library allows). Only to find out that our network was down. Had to reset the router, wait, wait, wait until it started working again. Then get the library audiobooks loaded. Meanwhile, Muffin was yelling to go outside, so while I was fiddling with the router, Rick took her out for a quick walk. He is visiting with his Mom (I didn't go because there was no way I'd have gotten ready in time!), then stopping at B & N for a gift card for our neighbor's little girl.....we always buy gift cards for books for kids. They can choose their own books that way. And she loves for her mom to read to her. And he's stopping at the distributor; I drank my last Smirnoff Ice yesterday.
  • Got the Kindle ready for Evelyn
  • Scoop the boxes
  • Put a towel or something on the kitchen chair that I use to roll around. Muffin has taken over the chair; she let me have it for about a week before she took it. Now, every time we go to the kitchen, she is on "her" chair. And she yells at me when I try to get her to get down. Yesterday, she and I were both on the chair! She refused to move, so I sat alongside of her. She didn't move and we spun around the kitchen. I swear she was smiling!
Don't believe me? Here's Muffin on HER chair!

And just because it's Mollipop, here's a picture that our son took of her on the sill of our bay window in the living room.

Winchester: Muffin and Mollipop are adorable. I've told you this before but your Muffin with that sweet face looks a lot like my sweet little Muffy except my Muffy was smaller. She was a hand full but I loved her so much.

Winchester Winchester I love the pictures of Muffin and Molli! and the chair!
You are such a good daughter-in-law... I mean it. Evelyn is so fortunate to have such caring people in her life. I see so many in here who just get 'dumped'. Their families do not even visit them. You can tell. Their faces light up intensensly when they do have a list from their kids. It is really a sin..

Muffin reminds me of a combination fo Geoffrey and Artie. The sass of Artie, and the coloring of Geoffrey!

Molli, looks like a Grand Dame, in that pose!

Another *(*&* heat wave beginning. Global Warming!! This is the warmest June on record in Massachusetts. Today is the first day of it. I guess the AC will be running 24/7 for the next week... ugh..

I like summer, but this is ridiculous.. in the 90's all week with very high humidity..
It is too humid for me to sit outside comfortably..

*Regular morning stuff
* trash
* wash clothes
* undecided on supper have supplies for a salad or whatever
*Have to go upstairs to help a friend to work on spread sheets---again!! ugh.. I need a class.
Reading the instructions on line is not helping. I need one computer to read and another to try it out, and an extra hand to take notes!!! ugh....

Nothing else today.. just hanging out.

Pam, I got a new Fire Stick from Amazon. I guess it was good timing because the old one is not working!! I tried a few times, and cannot use the old one... I got the 4k one. Yes, Amazon Prime day!

I cannot remember if I have to link it to my modem or not... I will read the instructions on it. Right now, all I have is Netflix... Watching season 2 of Virgin River. Season 3 is debuting in July.

Tired today….the heat and humidity are ridiculous. We hit 90 this morning and it won’t let up. Too hot to even hit the pool for a quick dip. In the mid-90s until Friday, I think. Real feel in the 100s.
  • Gave the girls breakfast and went back to bed until 8:00.
  • Made tuna-pasta salad for a cool supper tonight. We have leftover tapioca that I made yesterday with sliced strawberries from the garden. Dear Richard asked me why I was cooking in the heat. I said, “So you’re getting fast food meals every day this week?” “Well, no….” ”Exactly!” I’m trying to make cooler meals right now. He’s just glad I’m in the kitchen. And to show his appreciation, he cleaned the kitchen for me.
  • Enjoyed my constitutional out on the WeShed deck with Rick. In the AC in the WeShed now.
Not much going on today.

Life is never simple. The roofers came this morning to replace our skylights, all seven of them. Set of three in our bedroom, four in the great room. Himself and I rearranged the furniture to put tarps down on the floors under the skylights. I set the alarm so we'd arise
earlier than usual. Guys were here before 8:00 a.m., up on the roof, starting work . . . and the doorbell rings. The two solar panels for the hot water system are in the way for stripping off four courses of shingles around the great room skylights.

Himself called the man who installed the solar panels a number of years ago. The solution is to turn the system off, cut the roof pipes, dismount the panels and lay them on the roof. As it is not considered an emergency it will be about a month before the solar panels can be reinstalled, repair piping, system back in operation.

Oh joy. Another bill.

Plus we need to find a carpenter because the interior trim for all seven skylights was or will be pulled off and apparently discarded. To deal with the great room it will require scaffolding, because of the two story high ceiling. Plus a painter to repaint all the interior skylight trim and the ceiling where the bedroom has water damage from the leaks. Oh yes, BTW, the bedroom was repainted about January 2019.

Other than that, what did I do today? Unloaded dishwasher, washed / dried two loads of laundry, baked chocolate chip cookies. And gave some, along with cold sodas, to the roofers. It was brutal up on the roof, hot and humid.

The cats were relatively calm about all noise from up on the the roof. They are such good boys.

I am without a helper. The story that her mother was in ICU, needed surgery, etc was a big lie. She was supposed to be
back yesterday. When she wasn't here by 8:30am I called Jon and he called her and texted, no response. We are friends on Facebook and she blocked me from seeing her recant posts but I was able to post on her page. I laid into her for lying about her mother's health
and how scandalous she is. Jon went to her FB page and was able to see her recent posts because they are not friends. She was
posting about how she loved the night shift at T Bell, her new place of employment.blah, blah, blah. I was in shock most of the day
because I didn't think she would do that to me. She's worked here for 15 months.

Now my washing machine isn't working as the agitator won't turn.

My neighbor has been feeding me since last Wednesday when Kaylee said her mother was in ICU. I ordered groceries from Walmart
and Nicole will pick them this mornng around 8:30am. Jon has no one. Thank you ex Governor Kasich for the Medicaid cuts you made when you were in office. They pay home health care aides such low wages now I don't blame them for not being able to hire people
Rant over

Gang has been coming in the early morning because of the beastly heat. I keep cold water from the frig for them
