Wrigley Wrigley , that sounds interesting. What exactly do you do with these rocks?

l think the movement started out as "Kindness Rocks". People paint pretty pictures or uplifting quotes onto stones/rocks and put them out into the local community for people to find so it brightens their day. A lot of towns have their own group of painters and hiders. l just joined my town's group and l'm having fun with it, it's a nice idea.

will do some light laundry. My new helper only works Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. She was my helper for about a month back in January. She was very negative and crabby but she told me what went on with her physically, she had a good reason to be crabby as she was in severe pain. She'll never be one of those glass-half-full type of persons but I can make her laugh and she loves my girls.

Mia6 Mia6 The ants come and go. Rick did get some liquid ant stuff that contains borax when he was at Lowes yesterday. We're going to saturate cotton balls with the stuff, stick them into bottle caps, and set the caps around where the cats can't go.

My GF passed away on Saturday morning. I'm OK. It took me a couple days to get my act together, but I'm OK. Rick is going to the funeral this morning. I can't go and I came into work. (She and I talked years ago and I told her then that, if anything happened to her, I wouldn't be at the viewing or the funeral. It doesn't mean I don't care because I loved her dearly. But I'm not going. There are a couple reasons.)
  • Breakfast for the kids, walked 1-1/2 miles, cleaned up a bit of cat puke, and got ready for work. Rick will scoop later on this morning.
  • We're going to Lowes tonight to look at wood stains
With the fan on in the bedroom window, we don't hear the cats yelling in the living room in the morning. We're not getting up as early as we used to because of Rick retiring. Now it's usually around 5:30 - 5:45, or when Mollipop and Muffin start yelling at each other. It's good because I'm getting more sleep, but it's bad because I'm not walking as much. And right now, it's really too sticky to be walking anyway. I hope to do better once we cool down a bit.

Winchester Winchester I am so very sorry about your girlfriend and I totally understand,
When my father died, his best friend called my mother and told her he just couldn't go. He was like a son to my father, a big age difference. Everyone grieves differently. Again I am very sorry. :alright::rbheart:

Hugs,

Mia

Thanks guys. Years ago, she and I talked about funerals and such. I told her then I wouldn't be there if she passed before me. I promised to think about her and wish her well, but that was all I could do and she got it. I did that yesterday. Rick was not happy at all; he did go to the service. He told me that he was very disappointed in me. I wouldn't go.
  • Breakfast for the kids, walked 2-1/2 miles, sorted laundry, and got ready for work. Rick will scoop later on. He's planning on working in the shed and, once the grass dries enough, he'll mow the yard. He started to mow last night, got the front finished....and then the heavens opened. We had one storm after another, pretty much all evening long.
  • Laundry night
  • Trash night

Terror and bravery this morning. I bought my oak kitchen table about twenty years ago and loved it except for one thing, it’s height. Just a bit taller than is comfortable for a five footer. When I first bought it I had found a place that could cut the legs down but they went out of business before I could have it done so I have lived all these years feeling like a toddler at the grown up table. But I have recently been thinking with the proper set up of my miter saw I might be able to do it myself without ending up with uneven legs and a wobbly table. I think my blood pressure was sky high and I was terrified I was ruining my table but I did it! I was able to tip the table over by myself, take the legs off, cut an inch off, put it back together and tip it back upright without help. And it doesn’t wobble! And now the height is perfect!

today i'll make a loaf of bread machine bread, make 2-3 liters of ginger ale, wash the dishes, and scoop the litter boxes. i'll spend time on some planning, and likely with my budget too.

after that, a nice hot cup of tea. i'll play some computer games, continue with a jigsaw puzzle, and watch some tv.

Yay you@susanm9006! Kudos!

We're going to have to start mowing the lawn twice a week; once is not enough anymore. Even set at 4 inches, there was still a lot of raking and mulching. And we had rain again last night, so the grass will be growing like crazy.

BTW, we bought Terro liquid ant killer with Borax. We put some in the cabinet next to the trash can yesterday and.....ew! Just ew! They came in droves, they gobbled, they left, and hopefully, they took it all back to the nest and passed it around (or whatever ants do). I swear they were doing an Ant Happy Dance.
  • Breakfast for the kids and got ready for work
  • I have a hair appt tonight
And that's pretty much it.

Do you think the nest is behind a wall? I'm so glad the Terro and Borax is working. I've used the small Terro traps and they worked well.

my new helper called off yesterday. After I had taken off the queen-sized quilt that needs to be washed at a laundromat. She is only working 3 days a week so she won't be back in till tomorrow. This place needs tending and I have high pain levels. When I get stressed like this I can't eat but managed a piece of peanut butter toast and grapes. Sorry to grouse but needed to.

My helper will be back today and I'm so glad. She only works 3 days a week and she called off on Wednesday so this place needs tending. John is trying to find someone to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have some laundry in the washer.

Yes, we think the nest is in a wall behind the china cabinet in the kitchen. Or behind the dishwasher. Either way, we can't pull everything out and tear into the wall. We're hoping the ant bait works. So far, they're gobbling away and carrying the stuff back to.....somewhere. They cleaned out what we put down the other night, so Rick put more out. I'll feed every ant in our neighborhood if I have to!

I hope your pain levels subside soon, Mia. Feel better. :hugs:

We got the electrician's bill yesterday for the shed work thus far. I wrote the check out and Rick mailed it last night on his way into his bowling meeting (which, as it turned out, is actually next week).
  • Breakfast for the kids, walked 2.5 miles, and got ready for work. Rick already scooped this morning.
I really don't plan on doing much, if anything, tonight.

After a big day yesterday (we saw THIS) today is catching up here, ordering a new faucet-end water filter unit since my boy insists that he needs flowing kitchen sink water in addition to his bowl on the floor, (he WILL NOT have anything to do with his water fountain any more) :seesaw:and brushing him :sheep: I can probably make a sweater out of all the hair I'm getting off of him lately lol

Furballsmom Furballsmom Speaking of sweaters, I came home from work yesterday to dog fur all over the living room. Til I was done vacuuming and brushing The Beast, I could have made a big puppy. Despite her bath the other week and despite quite a bit of brushing The Beast is shredding. And shredding. And shredding. Combine that with the cats' fur and, well, it's too bad there's not a market for fur. I like your train pics!

Dear Richard left for Pittsburgh yesterday morning for union stuff and will be home tonight. He spent his time yesterday at the casino (he didn't do well) and then stopped at IKEA for some McShed ideas. He said he took a bunch of pictures and we'll check them out when he gets home. Meanwhile, I am on my own today and really, I don't plan to do much (but I often say that and work anyway).
  • Took The Beast out to pee, breakfast for the kids, emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee. I'll scoop the boxes when I've finished my coffee
  • Vacuum and Swiffer the house, I may Bona the computer room floor. That involves taking everything that I possibly can out of the computer room, vacuuming, then wiping the floor down. After a good drying time, I can put everything back. But if I do the computer room, then I'm going to want to do the bathroom and the kitchen floor, too. And there goes my Saturday! We'll see how lazy I am today.
  • Wipe the kitchen and bathroom down
