The last few times I trimmed Bellas nails 2 nails split on the ends. She has a good diet and I do not go down very far(just the tips get trimmed). Is this normal? If not-is there anything I can do to remedy this problem?
Someone suggested I put vaseline on the nail after trimming to keep them from being too dry.
Any suggestions will help.

As long as there are no pink tender parts exposed, this is perfectly normal. The kitty claws grow from the inside out (unlike human nails). So new nail begins inside where the pink stuff is and slowly moves outward. The shedding/splitting part is the old part. Nothing else to do.
