Hello there,

My wife and I rescued a kitten from the streets a few months ago.  He was being eaten alive by fleas, and weighed only 1 pound. We immediately took him to a vet, who estimated his age to be 8-10 weeks old.  He immediately won us over, and after the vet patched him up, we decided to add another cat to the house. We also have a 6 year old female, DSH.

This little mystery man would purr anytime we picked him up, was not shy and even enjoyed his flea bath.  He was immediately comfortable in our home, and took to socializing with our other cat quite well. After a few months they are already best buddies.

After some extensive reading, I've estimated his breed to be Norwegian or Siberian Forest. He has all of their personality traits, and physical traits. I'm leaning more towards Siberian because of the dip in his nose.  At about 6 months of age, he is already longer than our adult cat. His tail is supremely bushy, and is as long as the rest of his body.  He also eats more than our adult cat.

Anyhow, here are some photos of the magical forest cat known as Parsley.

A sweet little guy! Welcome all of you to TCS. It is amazing how our cats generally manage to find the right home for themselves. Unfortunately, because of the way he came to you, it would be impossible to say if he definitely has any specific breed in his background, and all of the characteristics of 'breed' cats are found somewhere in the general population of Domestics, whether Shorthair of Longhair. But we love our moggies none the less.

Welcome to the TCS site and our Forums!

Where do you live Huldrekat?  The nick sounds norwayish?  Or you just took it from his perhaps norvegian "ancestry"? Calling your new household member by a norvegian name??

A guess for a sibirian look alike is natural.  Another guess could be for a Maine Coon look alike.  I had learn the other day in the Breeders forum, there are actually two different types of MCO, respectively patronized by two different big "american" associations.

One does have a "feral" look, and the other a "sweet"  look.   Btw,  Look in the "Sibirian tread".

I would perhaps want to compare your furry protegée to such a "sweet" look alike.

Although, if you do really live in Norway, there is a very small chance for finding some descendand from this less usual MCO.

So talking about a look alike, or type, is the only we can do.

Very nice cat!   :)

Tx, congrats, and good luck!

Welcome to TheCatSite community, :wavey:

Whatever breed Parsley is descended from, he is gorgeous. My guess is that
he is smart too. After all, he was in the right place at the right time when you rescued him. :lovegrin2
Your two fur kids look like they are happy as can be together.

Just beautiful!   Thank you for sharing!  Whose Parsley's brother or sister?  He/she looks a lot like Megan.
