I lost my sweet cat, Clementine today. She was only 2 years old. Yesterday, I found out she had FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) after a year or more of misdiagnosis and that she had limited time left. I was completely devastated. I had gone to see a specialist to try to get some answers. This was the last thing I wanted to hear. At the time, I didn't realize I would have only 24 hours left with her. I spent the day today with her lying on my chest. Her breathing was heavy. I talked to her, petted her, comforted her, prayed for her. In my heart, I knew there wasn't much time left. This afternoon she passed away while in my arms. I am heartbroken. She was my best friend. I will never forget the amount of joy she brought into my life. She came at a time when I needed her and she needed me. When I saw her adorable face on a facebook post by a neighbor who was fostering her, I said "that is my cat." I just knew. She went through a lot in her short life, but she was my fighter and was always there for me. I will love my sweet Clementine forever and I hope she's waiting for me up there in Heaven.

Oh this is so hard and I am so deeply sorry for what has happened.
She was beautiful and I can see the love she had for you pouring from her face and eyes.
It was far far too short but what a wonderful relationship and I'm so glad she had you.
RIP darling baby, you have gone to your very special reward :vibes::rbheart:

I am so sorry! It seems that we never get enough time with them and a shortened life is even more difficult but I do believe she is waiting for you. I also believe that she has left a part of herself with you so that you always carry the love with you. It’s obvious from the photo what you shared. Hold tight to that and know that she got great comfort from you every second you were together. That love and happiness is the best thing we can ever give each other or ask for. You both had that and the love remains. She is beautiful!:redheartpump::redheartpump:
:grouphug2:You have the love and support of everyone here.

I'm really sorry that your dear clementine passed away soon after you finally received a diagnosis for her :( Your heart must be broken to pieces, you finally get the answers and then clementine is taken away so soon. In the end she was with you in your arms, and in the comfort and love and warmth and kindness, and she let herself go when she was with you because she trusted you that much enough to do so. She will be watching you from above in gods arms and her soul will be with you always to protect you. Clementine looks so sweet, and gentle and you can see in her eyes she has love for you .This is so sad :( Rest in peace clementine, so that you will be in no pain or suffering for eternity with god and his angels. :hearthrob::(

My heart breaks for your pain. You said it exactly right, you both needed each other.....
You were there for her when she needed you the most. You gave her exctly what she needed, someone to love and care for her. You helped her in more ways then you will ever know, holding her was all she wanted.
The bond you formed with that precious girl will be with you forever because it is formed from love. It is spiritual, so eternal. She shared your life for a little while because you needed her in it.
Though she follows a new path now, it will always parallel your own, she will always be as close as your thoughts and prayers. She lives on through your love now, send her thoughts of happiness and joy, she needs to know you will be alright. Just as you would want for her, if you were the first to go, so she wants for you.
It hurts. It will always hurt. But time will soften the hard edges of grief. Don't dwell on her end, it brings nothing but heartache, but try to concentrate on what that little girl meant to you, what happiness she brought to your life. Always remember, "death cannot take that which never dies" and you know your love for her never will die, so is with you forever.
For her the pain has ended. For your heart it has just begun. There is light at the end of the tunnel, your heart will heal in time. But there will always be a scar left behind.
That she passed in the arms of the one she loved above all else, at home, and comforted by your love is the most loving thing you could have done. Somehow you found the strength to let her go, and you did it all in the name of love..... My heart goes out to you. I will pray for you both to find peace, I will keep you both in my thoughts. I wish things could have been different, but you will always have her love.....RIP beautiful Clementine. You will never be forgotten, you will always have a secure place in a loving herat. May the good Lord bless and keep you until you meet again! Goodnight, sleep tight, precious Princess!

I am so so sorry that you lost that sweet little girl, you surely loved each other but for some reason the time together was to be short, but she is fine now and you will see that darling little face again one day and it will be wonderful and forever....

We wake up in the morning and go to sleep late evening. This is one day. How long is one day? If we take our time to enjoy sun light, green trees, blue sky and people who love us, then it is a long and rewarding day. How many days like this we really enjoy in our life ? Not to many, I am afraid.

One single wonderful day with Clementine counts enormously. Happiness cant be counted or measured. Remember and smile!

Head bow to Clementine the Cat!

Rest you gentle, Clementine, dream you deep. Your pawprints are on someone's heart forever.

I am so very, very sorry. FIP is a filthy disease, and the sooner we eradicte it entirely, the happier I will be. Two years is such a short time, but...where there is love, an eternity is not long enough, is it? I believe that our animals come into our lives for a reason, and that they, somehow, choose us. Perhaps Clementine knew she would need your steadfast love in her short life, and that she could give her love to you wholeheartedly. You gave her a lifetime of love in two short years, and she left this adventure for her Next Great Adventure from the safety and comfort of your arms. Love never dies, you know. It only changes form and continues on, still Love. And Love abides. Always and forever, Love abides. That part of Clementine which is her Love for you is with you still and forever.

PLEASE don't feel guilty about the time spent with the misdiagnosis. The end would have been the same, unfortunately. The only difference is that you would have known what was coming, and have been unable to change a single thing about it.

I am very sorry for your loss. Although I know no amount of words can truly ease the sadness and grief in your heart, be assured that we will be here for you and mourn with you.

You have given the best life you can possibly provide to Clementine. All those wonderful memories will be forever carried in both of your hearts, until you meet again.

Clementine, go and spread your wings and fly beautiful angel. You were loved by your family and will sorely be missed.

No matter how long you are given, 24 hours, or 24 years, they are never enough when you spend your time with a special creature like Clementine was.

She'll be waiting for you up in heaven, where time does no matter any longer.

RIP beautiful Clementine :bawling:
