@posiepurrs - You'll do just fine! Look at how far you took Jack and Camie without spending every week-end at one show or another. You have a good eye, a good grasp of genetics and the "common sense" that's not particularly common among breeders these day, and you've had set goals for years. You're a cinch, for crying out loud!

Thank you for those kind words, but I have to admit that while I am very excited about this little fellow I am also a little apprehensive. You have to admit that it is a little intimidating, especially since his breeder is in my region. We may show against one another like we have before. It is a totally different situation when you go against someone with one of their own cats! Oh well, it is in the hands of the Cat Show Gods!

@posiepurrs - It would certainly intimidate me, but then I don't have your proven record of success either. It's like anything else in Life - if you have a plan for every step of the journey, the knowledge to do the job at hand, and you play the game fairly and with integrity, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to doing.

You don't think that your Husband really simply missed, "having kittens 'round the place," do you? He doubtless has the same confidence in your acumen as a breeder as have all the judges who've ever handled Jack, Camie and your crew. You have a gift, Lynda, and I, as one out of many, am happy to see you plunge back in. I've no doubt that Toy's young Son will do very well by you, and he'll undoubtedly bring new joy to Life all 'round. Best of luck!

We hit a speed bump. I will be getting a different kitten from her. She found a fault, albeit very small, with Edelweiss so offered me a slightly older kitten from the same sire, different queen. He will be joining us in January.

Well, I don't know about rocking anything, because so far I have only 3 shows on the schedule before the end of the season. One in February in Cherry Hill NJ, if anyone is close by there come say hello. i really hate it that most of the shows are distant enough to require an over night stay in a hotel.

But cats LOVE hotels!! Most shows I go to are 10-14 hours drive from home - I feel your pain - but the shows make it worth the drive.

I honestly couldn't imagine driving that long to show more than once or twice a year. My job wouldn't allow me the time off to do it and I think my husband would NOT be happy about it either! Luckily, I live on the east coast of the US so there are more shows than in the west. I just got spoiled because when I first got into showing there were so many more local shows - I could do one or two a month within a 2 hour drive. Now we have 1 or 2 a year that close. I know cats like hotels - I don't. I never sleep well.

I pick my new boy up in about 2 weeks! Can't wait! I have to decide if I am going to keep the name she has been calling him or register him under a different name. He is not registered yet so I can change it if I want. It is a variation of his sires name:GC BW NW Castlegates Toy Soldier of AOL. I just hope the weather cooperates with the drive down - about 4-5 hours one way.

He is gorgeous!! I hope everything goes well. If so, he and Camie may very well have the cutest kittens ever born. :cloud9:

They will make quite the striking pair. He has a very regal air to him and Camie's is so angelic. :hearthrob:

I hope you can get them to pose together after he gets settled.

A week from today is the day! We just have to set the time to meet. She is meeting me and another breeder who is picking up my boys sister mid state, rather than having us drive all the way to the southern tip(another couple of hours with traffic).
