Hi guys I just got a kitten yesterday he got taken away from his mother and given to me, I’m deciding weather or not to give him back to his mum because he’s extremely scared of me and he doesn’t eat he bites me and doesn’t want me to pick him up I don’t have the proper money right now to buy the things he needs like a cat bed or litter box and this morning he pooped everywhere, my parents also want him to go back what should I do

Yes, it does sound like he would be better off with his mother. Kittens should stay with their moms until they are at least 12 weeks old. They need to keep nursing to ensure they get proper nutrition and they learn a lot of essential life skills from their mothers too.

Do you know how old he is? Is the mother cat in a safe place and being taken care of?

how old is the kitten? They need to be a certain age before being taken away from its mother.

It's natural for them to be scared. they've been taken away and in a new, strange environment with a new, strange person wanting to pet and pick them up all the time.

Of course he'd poop/pee without a litter box. The kitten has nowhere to go and they won't hold it until you get a box and litter for them. But seeing how you can't afford a litter box, and your parents are saying no, maybe it's for the best to return the kitten. A pet is a family choice, everyone should be in agreement to keep a pet together. Plus cats are long term. You'll have to buy food, clean litter, vet care and whatever else they need- you need to think long term financial care too.

You can also try to talk to your parents again and see if you all can come up with an agreement. They pay for the supplies until you can afford it, but you do all the feeding and litter cleaning to balance it out.

He is 2 months old and yes that I know off but I don’t think the owner of her was very nice to just take the kitten away as he was laying down with his mum

2 months is a bit too young to be away from his mother. Could he go back to his mum for now? If you wait until he is 12 weeks old that will give you time to decide if you really can afford to care for a cat for the next 15 plus years. It will also give you time to buy all the stuff you need for him.

Taking on a kitten is a big commitment and it can be quite expensive. You also need to think about your future. If you move away for college will you be able to take him with you? Will your parents look after him if you leave? If you have any doubts it`s probably better if you don`t take on that responsibility right now
