This is Mabel. She showed up, bonded with my youngest son on a Friday afternoon. Took her to the vet the following Monday, determined she's FeLV and FIV negative, and pronounced as generally healthy although a little underweight (which we are fixing--de-worming, de-fleaing, and regular meals should fix that). Vet doesn't like to spay under 5lbs, and we're hoping she's at that mark at her next appointment on September 17th, when she'll get round 2 of her initial shots, plus her rabies vaccine. Vet's assessment of age based on teeth is 4 months (which might be hard to tell in the picture, due to the lack of perspective).
