Hello everyone,

Holly, my little tabby kitten, has escaped out of the house two days before. She hasn't come back yet. I am calling regularly for her every day. I asked the neighbours and searched everywhere for her. I'm so worried about her. People don't care about animals in my village so there aren't any vets, pet shops, or adoption centers here. Please help!! :runningcat::(:please::help::bawling:

Thank you
Muhanna

There are a number of things you can do to try to lure her back home.
Check out the links in Tips for Finding a Lost Cat

Put her litter box outside where she can smell it, if it has used litter in it.
Put her favorite food out, although other critters might eat it instead.
Look for her at dawn and dusk. Take a flashlight out when it's dark and shine it under bushes and or other small places she might hide. Her eyes will reflect the light even if you can't see the rest of her.

:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:that Holly comes home soon.

Also, when you go outside to look for her take a bag/can of treats, or dry food in a little covered dish, and shake it while calling her - and repeat multiple times. You need to stay in place and wait a while after doing so, in case it takes her some time to get to you.

Thank you everyone for your replies! Sadly, Holly hasn't been found yet. Could she have gone back to her old home? We thought she was a stray and adopted her and she had no microchip. Can cats find another owner and forget their former owner? :(:(

I suppose it is possible she went back to wherever she originally was. Did you find her nearby where you live now? How long did you have her before she disappeared?

someone may have thought she's a stray, and took her in as a pet

Check all your closets and cub boards and behind all your dresser drawers.

Cats can and do become incredibly attached to their homes, their territory, and it is certainly possible that she made her way back to where ever she was living before. Do you have a clue of where that might be? It would be a good place to look for her.
