OH YEAH. Right next to the Silvervine Forest. All fireworks are banned in my county, thank goodness. Felinopolis? Sounds great. We’ll need our own Yowzz Catnip farm.

I don't recall where Michele got it, but I think that it's just supposed to look like one. It's about 15 years old now, more or less.N NY cat man : is that a Hudson's Bay blanket?
Jcatbird : those fireworks, and how much they lit up the sky, was crazy. Glad the clowder has calmed down.
If that's one there on the right, they look very well made! And Bashful and Stretch look very content there on their beautiful blankie.A worker at our vet's office makes catnip bags, the sale of which goes to support local rescues. Michele got some new ones today, and Bashful and Stretch have been into them.View attachment 425298View attachment 425298
I Googled, and I think you're right, it's a wannabe.I don't recall where Michele got it, but I think that it's just supposed to look like one. It's about 15 years old now, more or less.
Something that occurs to me often: There are people like us, who think of, care for, and help others; and then there is the majority, who are self-absorbed, consumerist/materialist, and entirely concerned with themselves (and maybe family and a few friends). Most of these people would give you a blank look if you mentioned being stressed by their inconsiderate noise/etc. If they got that far, which most wouldn't, they wouldn't care. In fact, many would get aggressive about it because YOU are saying THEY have a problem when it's YOUR problem (their thoughts, not mine!) and how dare you rain on their parade?!! I've dealt with this all my life, and I'm sure I'm not alone in it. Most of us here could write books on it, I think.Jcatbird Well good news ALL the kitties were accounted for at dinnertime today. Yay!!! That is so funny when you said people are lighting off more fireworks to relieve stress. Sure, great stress reliever for them, but for us it leaves us with frayed nerves.
Especially when cats are involved!
Thanks for the cute videos. I do give the outdoor kitties cat nip from time to time. Really only the few who don't get aggressive from it. It is just a little treat for them to make their day special.
Once again so happy that Oscar was caught. I didn't hear about the previous capture, but I am sure things will work out fine this time. I seen pics of that gorgeous Catio. He is a very lucky kitty to have Bitsy's mom as a caretaker.
Well, you take care as well as everyone here.
True. We live in a society with a lot of self centered people who couldn't care less about anything but themselves. Do they realize how many injuries and deaths happen each year from fire works? No, they don't care. There were some professional grade fireworks lit all around me. One oopsie moment and someone could have gotten hurt. Also, these fire works were lit up well into the wee morning hours. No consideration given to anyone else who needed to sleep and go to work the next morning.Something that occurs to me often: There are people like us, who think of, care for, and help others; and then there is the majority, who are self-absorbed, consumerist/materialist, and entirely concerned with themselves (and maybe family and a few friends). The upside, which I always try to find to remain sane, is that it only goes on for a few nights, and then they get distracted and go on to some other way of self-medicating, self-absorption, selfishness.
Agree 100% with all! Of course.True. We live in a society with a lot of self centered people who couldn't care less about anything but themselves. I felt so bad for the cats. How stressful to have very loud fireworks being lit all around them. I think more about their welfare and this really angers me. TG they are very resilient and are back to normal. They are survivors.
I feel the same and self centered and though less people ARE bad company. I rather spend time with people who actually care about others and especially animals. My kind of peeps.I'd rather have no company than bad company!
Yes! It gets lonely at times, because I don't find good people here, except for my roomies. And now, I only share life with one rescued cat. But still, there are lots of good people, feral and rescued cats here at TCS! and in my daily advocacy work.I feel the same and self centered and though less people ARE bad company. I rather spend time with people who actually care about others and especially animals. My kind of peeps.
Jcatbird I hope everything is okay with Banjo, yourself and everyone at Chez Catbird. Take it easy.
