Red skies at morning; sailors take warning
Red skies at night; sailor's delight
Here's a pic from a couple days ago. Not the best picture, because the houses were in the way, and I wasn't going outside to try to get a better shot. Plus the red literally only lasted a minute or two before the clouds covered it, but it was the most vibrant red I think I've ever seen. And it definitely was a morning warning, as we got wind and rain later in the day.

Good job, Muffin. So did you eventually share any of it with your clowder mates?

I hope you and all are warm
I like this idea. 🥶

She can help with that. She is very chill herself! She can also be a fierce kitty when needed.
Exactly what I need around here. ;)

Banjo powers!
Could use some of those too. 🧚‍♀️

Shopping and laundry? Heaven? Come on down! Lol You’ll be very happy!
I would love to take you up on that...🙏🙌

You think you want all tropical? So….. you like high humidity too?
I don't mind...Anything is better than being cold. ☀

I know I saw the name Whistle on that! I think
Awww sweet baby. ❤

Heh. Now. While the others are busy chasing Muffin for the catnip, I can Order anything I want and they’ll never know.
I like the way you think Banjo! Just add coffee, hot sauce, cheese to the list.

Considering that it's almost 40 years old, my snow blower works just fine- fortunately. It hadn't been run since September, when I changed the oil, but it got a real workout Monday. Still, I had to shovel what felt like a ton of snow from areas that it couldn't go, and cleaning up after it. The laugher came when some guy on the radio said that anyone born before 1977 shouldn't be shovelling. Too late; already done
And I wonder where all the people born after 1977 are, I haven't ever seen them shoveling my snow! ❄

pearl99 pearl99 Why would they, when the pre-1977-born are already taking care of it?
dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Gorgeous skies! I don't know about sailors but I do know we are enjoying the vivid colors!
Jcatbird Jcatbird Catnip? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! PAWtay! *But WARNING: Don't mess with the calico 'tude/tortletude! Or you're liable to draw back a nub! No interfering with colorful ladies enjoying their stash. Wait until they're under the influence and then you might try to impose on their generosity.*

We used to get spectacular sunsets in the Mojave. Huge skies and cloud formations, too.

You should have gone outside and move to a better position to capture this shot of the fiery red sky.
There really wasn't enough time, as I would have had to go somewhere in the car to get the shot without roofs, and it clouded over so quickly. It really was almost a blink and you miss it thing.

That happens so often! It's good that you were able to catch it. I don't carry my phone everywhere around the house, so there are so many great photo opportunities I miss.

I glanced out the window and went "wow", ran to get my camera, took 4 pics, and then the show was over. It was just luck I even noticed it.

Yea, sunrise and sunset waits for no man. You have to be prepared or be there and it's just a small window of time before it's over. It's called the magic hour.

The sun rises and sets within a few minutes which is very fast as compared to when the sun is out the whole day and if you don't get it today, you have to come back tomorrow and tomorrow will be a different scene.

After some unusually warm weather for January it's been bone chillingly bitterly cold the last couple of days and Gypsy hadn't been out til today. Still had windchill below o° and we didn't leave the porch but at least she went out for some fresh, although freezing, air. She has a window she sleeps in the Sun in.

tabbytom tabbytom A giant Gerbil! :flail:I think you are right! It does resemble the way a gerbil moves!

Oh! Wonderful Pawverb! A quote from St. Francis. Wow. So very wise. So very true.:purr: I think purrs keep me going sometimes. Cats are wise too. They know when a hooman needs a purr.

N NY cat man That’s great that a forty year old snow blower works well! Things made then were often well made. It may not be able to get everywhere but at least it helps get the open areas. Anyone born before 77 should not shovel? Hmmmm. I seem to shovel a lot more as I get older. Lol Just not snow. It would be better if we didn’t have to shovel though.;) I do know it’s supposed to be tougher on us but maybe it helps to keep us strong too? If we stopped the physical stuff we might turn into couch potatoes.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 A cat puppet on strings? That would make it a marion pette? Lol
Beautiful sky! lol shot with the street light accent too.
N NY cat man I grew up hearing the rhyme about red skies too. As I got older I learned it went back to a Bible verse in Mathew.
I was also told that a ring around the sun or moon means rain or snow is coming soon.

pearl99 pearl99 Did you find BUB?
Banjo will probabky

neely neely I agree! Lol Whisker Wednesday is a better phrase for mid week. I think Gypsy agrees too! Lol

rubysmama rubysmama The color in that sky is gorgeous! A nice warm glow in the Winter sky.
Muffin did share. Sort of. Lol Whistle would distribute shares. Muffin has a different method. Lol

M maggiedemi Banjo may be chill but she would keep you warm. She would require that you use the spin cycle on the washer a lot though. ;) Then you can shop together.
She also says to tell you that she can order the super hot sauce to help. Lol

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 The Mojave put on lots of beautiful displays for you. Plants, weather and skies. Lovely scenes.
The kitties know to leave a Muffin to rise on her own. Lol They don’t want nubs. Hot Muffins.can explode! They learned about tortidue early on. Poor Whistle. He had to stand by and watch her destroy his favorite kind of package. Nip! Fortunately, nip travels easily. Lol

For everyone who watched the sky, one of the greatest things is that it is an ever changing display. Each one more beautiful than the last. It keeps me watching in anticipation.

Well, we will either have snow, or an ice storm. I'm hoping for the former, but betting on the latter. The Divine Miss Thang could not care less, she'll be snuggled down inside. I'm putting an extra fleecy blankie in the Secret Feral Shelter, and have rice bags ready to start heating and installing tonight.

Although my thoughts often turn to certain places, a few times a year I take the time to stop and remember. Especially the smiles. I remain steadfast to a promise made to honor those smiles. The past few days have been a part of the time I set aside each year for remembering the sunlight given to me. It is especially appropriate to me that we fell upon such beautiful pictures of sunrise and sunset moments. All to brief each day but they remain a constant in our lives. This is posted in gratitude to all and to honor the one who smiled for me the most as well as the others who cannot be here for the smiles of each day. 🌤:hearthrob:
:touched:
My vision is blurry this week from being to the eye specialist but even I can see the beauty.
Perhaps the last rose of the season before true cold sets in, this is from Sarah’s Garden. A rose for us all.

pearl99 pearl99 My bad -- thanks to Jcatbird Jcatbird for the reminder! store.lilbub.com is where you'll find BUBwear and much, much more!
Beautiful song and beautiful rose! Beautiful skies, too. Wonder is all around us, and in these times (when have they ever not been "these times"?) we can draw strength from seeing and sharing the magnificence of nature and the sweetness of cats and good friends.
Remembering smiles and good times can be emotional for us, but bottom line, it's better to have experienced them than never to have had them at all.
