Is that bird noise in the background? WOW! *I caught that tail flick, Gypsy! Exciting sounds, yes?*
You have a beautiful balcony. *Snapdragon envy" My grandparents loved them. So I love them, too.
Yep, we have lots of birdies. Cardinals, sparrows, yellow finches, robins, blue jays, hummingbirds, mourning doves, crows and hoot owls. Occasionally a red tailed hawk and even a kestrel from downtown visit. Turkey buzzards far overhead sometimes too. We are in the middle of town but we are in a neighborhood that's been established for over a hundred years. It's hard to show just how huge the trees (and photograph the birds) on my phone camera, but I try.

@dustydiamond So beautiful! My mom grew up in IL and she talked about how beautiful the cardinals (she called them 'redbirds') are. We don't have them out here, though we have a lot of the others you listed. There are a lot of redtails. I love the raptors!
Jcatbird Jcatbird Hope you're feeling better day by day and giving your eyes a lot of good rest. Looks like you're very well guarded and taken care of! BJ has the right idea. There's no better nurse than a loving, sweet cat, is there?

di and bob di and bob It’s easy to get carried away by plants. Me too. I love growing them. One of my more recent favorites is an orange flowers tea olive. I started planting scented things for my daughter who had vision problems and got hooked!
Have you seen the red honeysuckles? They are really pretty and the hummingbirds favor them. You have three is those vines? Yay! IMHO you can never go wrong with lots of those! Do you have plant favorites?

You have new kitties to TNR? Oh my. You will be busy. Bravo to you for helping those kitties. It’s not an easy job but thank goodness there are people like you who care so much. You’re making the world better for them and all the rest of us too.

These photos are for you. Little wild morning glories. The flowers are about the size of a nickel but the vines are covered in blooms!

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 I love seeing flocks too! If only I could fly! :cloud9: The trees there are gorgeous. No wonder it sounds so great. Nature at it’s best.
Little wren? I love the little wrens. They are small but s

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 We have Redbirds but also, once in a great while, a Scarlet Tanager. The first time I saw one I ran for my bird books! I had no idea what it was.
I am taking it slow with my eyes. They won’t let me do otherwise anyway. Lol Thank you though. I am better. The kitties are making me behave. Cats are the best healers.

I had been trying to catch up on some chores today but decided it was time to rest my eyes. I opened the front door to enjoy the light and air and to watch the kitties. I think we need to call this, “ The Gathering.” Or maybe kitty shuffle. How many kitties can you find in these photos? Test your vision! Every photo is different so look catefully

Who made an appearance? Mackie, Dolly, Purry, Bonjour, Lady, Flowers, Kodiak, Thrasher, BJ, Blue, Mitsy. , Whistle, Banjo, Precious and Muffin. It was quite a gathering and everyone managed to find a spot on the rug at some point in the game except Muffin. She sat on me. Bonjour hung over the edge just a bit. His bottom always seems to hang over the edge of everything. Lol For those who know the cats well enough to identify them and are wondering where Blue appeared, photo number 17. I am so proud of him for joining in such a large group! Mountain Bear almost made it but Muffin gave him the stink eye. Maybe next time. It was a very nice afternoon being part of the Clowder.

Thanks for the pictures of the morning glories! All I've got wild around here so far is stickers and bindweed! I LOVE the red! I ahve a narrow stretch in the backyard and was thinking of putting in a strip of coneflowers in different colors all the way down, about 50 feet. I saw a guy on TV with it that way and it was impressive! They do well here and that is something I always look for. I have planted HUNDREDS of flowers that do NOT do well here, I'm kinda back to the old basics. Marigolds, coneflowers, Moss rose, (like a weed the way it spreads) Astors, and Iris. Of course, I planted ten Oso Easy Double Knockout roses in my berm out front and out back. They have bloomed their little hearts out all summer. They do well here, but I swore I wouldn't after getting scratched up every spring from pruning them I looked like all of my cats had attacked me!

Yay! A game. LOL. I do always loving counting to see how many make it into a pic. Today is the highest yet, I think.
I totally had to count twice, but I see 12 in the below pic.

That's 15, so 3 are missing in the pic with the 12. :)

Not even gonna try, as there's too many striped ones, and I always get them confused, plus too many have their backs to the camera.

*Way down south Savannah way
Where the birds do fly and the cats do play
There's a spot called the Stripey Sea
It's a cat lover's place to be!

There's a sea of stripes and some black and white
All in all it's quite a sight
Soft and warm, day and night

The mews are sweet, or so I've heard
Way over yonder at Chez Catbird!*

Hello Jcatbird Jcatbird ! I hope you are healing well. The kitties always take such good care of you! I’m healing from a procedure as well. Each week I’m feeling better:yess:
Gorgeous butterfly and wonderful shot, Jewely Jewely -- *Prayers* and best thoughts and wishes for your speedy, and successful recovery from your op, too!

di and bob di and bob Of you do well with any ride, you’re doing great! All the ones you mentioned as possibilities are beautiful to have. I happen to be very fond of coneflowers and iris. There is a wild iris here called Blue Flag that grows in swampy areas. I got lucky with some wild flowers here. Ummmm…. my roses are attack plants too! Lol They have big claws. I am going to be out for eye surgery as of tomorrow but I’ll be back as soon as I can. I think some other folks may have some flower pictures for us. Hopefully.
I can’t find my best iris photos right now but I’ll track one down for you later. I did find some other flower pics for you. Some of my best flowers are ferals. As it should be.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote In many of the photos there were 11 so, you are correct! It was quite a challenge in the photos to keep track of who was who! I was there and I had trouble counting. I’m one photo I got 12. In others I just caught different kitties.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Tnr’d Lol
I will take care and I can say the same to you my dear! I will return.

rubysmama rubysmama It was fun trying to catch the cats all at once. That is a record. They were mostly sitting still too! One day I hope to get a furmily portrait. Lol With them FACING the camera. I was pretty lucky to get so many at once and not one of them objecting. Purrfect. I felt like I was in the middle of a magic moment. I guess I was! At some point, maybe I can go back and put names on the faces tails.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Lots of good guesses on the butterfly! From what you said about it looking like a dead leaf, that struck a memory with me. My guess is a “Question Mark”. Yep! There really is a butterfly called Question Mark. It is similar to one called Comma. Lol The white edging and description match pretty well and they eat many of the plants you have growing there so maybe you have a Question Mark?

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 :cloud9::redheartpump::clap2: I love the poem! I want to frame that and hand it over the front door! Stripey sea it is. I definitely smiled! The news are sweet. I wish you could hear. As sweet as the lull of waves on the shore. Soft and warm for sure. Surely true. Well done my friend. Thank you for that smile.
Jewely Jewely So wonderful to see you! Such a lovely butterfly too. You are healing too? I hope the procedure was fast and easy and the recovery speedy and painless. I think of you often and I am very glad to hear that you are on the healing side of your procedure. After tomorrow I hope to be through the surgery end and just in to treatments. We can heal together!
:vibes::itslove: Stay well! Thank you for the healing wishes!

tabbytom tabbytom I do love all types of ferals.;)
