jefferd18 jefferd18 It actually might not surprise me if Inky would not come. Even when I knew exactly where Thrasher was, she avoided coming to me for many, many hours. In fact, at one point she went much further from me. It was so frustrating. She obviously recognized me and even wanted to come but something had frightened her. I had to regain her trust after years of being around her. When she did enter the door she was very slow and extremely cautious. I waited until she was far into the room before pushing the door closed as quickly as I could. At first she was still nervous but when she finally calmed, that look of being safe inside returned. We just can’t take the feral or instincts out of any cat. Inky may just be reacting to something you did not see, hear or smell. We can put up protection to some extent and keep calling, enticing and encouraging. I thought I had sightings of Thrasher too. Was it? Only she can tell me for sure but it was just as puzzling as any possible sighting there. I understand the thoughts and feelings. They wash over us as we fret but , for Inky, you just hold on. Cry, gnash your teeth, shake your fists and then force yourself back up and searching. As long as you can. From my heart I plead, don’t give up if any other choice remains. :vibes::redheartpump:

Thank you, Jcatbird Jcatbird .
I will put out a trap tonight. It might not help but it can't hurt. We have a one aggressive feral running around and I might end up getting him, which may indeed cause some others to come out of hiding. This is quite the reach. I got permission from the person who lives there. Now watch me trap a cat and both it and the trap get stolen. I have never seen anything like this in my life. This hick town has had problems in the past with animals.

My fear is that Inky can hear me and he just doesn't want to return home. It happens. I am in the process of moving and I know the noise was getting on his nerves. He is a very sensitive cat with a high stress level.

My SIL was out when I called today. My Dad thinks he may have a touch of what she has. I have advised him to try and keep his distance. We were all together this week. Unfortunately he had been traveling in the same car. She seems to think it is just a bad cold though so hoping it will pass off them quickly.
I will keep praying for your dad. He is very strong still surviving Covid. Your dad is one tough cookie. :redheartpump: :redheartpump: :redheartpump: Hope all is well with you and the kitties.
jefferd18 jefferd18 you are still in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong. I have been through depressing situations myself, but I learned I can't afford to think negatively, no matter how grim things appear. There were cats I gave up on, including my own house cat who was missing for 5 months, but they came back! Negative thinking makes things far worse, including making you stressed and sick. . Please think positive thoughts and hang in there.🙂
tabbytom tabbytom My goodness---what a visual feast! Those flowers are absolutely exquisite!!! Thanks for sharing.
Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Little Gizmo is just as cute as can be. She will melt your husband's heart. But remember the rules, do not spill water on her and do not feed after 12 midnight or things get very scary!!!🙀🙀🙀😂🤣😂

jefferd18 jefferd18 Yes. The noise may well have been an irritation but give it time. They do begin to think about the comforts you offer.
Any chance you can attach a line to the trap and the other end to something that would make a loud noise if it got pulled on? I caught a human by just such a measure. It alerted me to someone intruding here and I caught them red handed. However, be aware that if you catch someone, you need to be prepared to handle it by calling 911 , photographing etc. I called 911 but also got them on a trail cam. They hightailed it but not before they got the fright of their lives. They had to face officers too and can never come anywhere near here again without risk of arrest, jail, fines etc. Most importantly, they learned that I never give up and they could expect the unexpected if they tried anything again. I used simple household items to act as my alarm. Well worth the effort.

There is a cute Gremlin at the moment in my kitchen balcony. I am not sure what I am gonna do with this. If I bathe it, will it multiply? Let me know please.
What a cutie! :hearthrob: :redheartpump:

Yes. The first one after the heading ,” Not orchids.” Ginger?
Yes, you may be right. Could be another species of ginger.

My fear is that Inky can hear me and he just doesn't want to return home. It happens. I am in the process of moving and I know the noise was getting on his nerves. He is a very sensitive cat with a high stress level.
Jeff, stay safe and stay cool.

My goodness---what a visual feast! Those flowers are absolutely exquisite!!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Thank you for the reminder. I will try to keep her away from the water. LOL. She was well behaved last night. Just snuggled next to my Barley. I am amazed that at such a very young age she was not fussy and crying at all the first night.

I couldn't sleep well, though. I had in my mind these little gremlins rolling on the floor and multiplying, although the only one rolling around is my Graham. LOL. That cat of mine has boundless energy, keeping me awake at nights and sleepy at work all day. :)

Thank you. It is hard to focus and make decisions when you are dealing with depression. I have called so many people already. My horrible neighbor told me she spotted a black cat lying in somebody's back yard two houses down. Why wouldn't he come to me if that was Inky?
jefferd18 jefferd18 well i am bipolar and know how hard things can be when you are down ... please dont hesitate to message me , ok ?

Totally scary situation, for sure, and glad he's not allowed near your place again. 🤗

However, reading your post reminded me of the Home Alone movies, and the booby traps Kevin came up with to deter the intruders.

this critter is now running around the house like she owns the place
Awww, just like a little princess. She sounds delightful. 👑

We can put up protection to some extent and keep calling, enticing and encouraging.
Why does this sound familiar? 😉

From my heart I plead, don’t give up if any other choice remains.
I know this wasn't meant for me, but very appropriate & motivating. Thank you. 🙌

You do know the kitties put cat magnets in your heart?
I need to borrow one of those magnets to use on a certain someone.

Banjo is waiting for instructions.
Okay, I'll send another email tonight. 👌

you two hanged up on me with PayPal?
Did you mean ganged? I can't hang anybody. I'm a pacifist. :flail:

Wow! Reading that made me feel safer. Wish you were here, but somehow I get the feeling that distance doesn't matter. 😲

I really need to organize my time better.
What is it with us girls and those Romeos? :sigh:

well i am bipolar and know how hard things can be when you are down
I wondered if I have that, but my doctor said that I just need to get away from my mother, then I will get well. Maybe they are just waiting to see if that works, before they test me for anything. 🚘✈

As summer approaches, the flowers are starting to reach full bloom, although there are others that still need a few more weeks yet.
The first bloom on Michele's Asian lilies.
IMG_1594.JPG
This clematis is our oldest plant, and yet year after year it produces thousands of blooms.
IMG_1598.JPG
This dianthus is another reliable bloomer.

This is one of the new plants, a sea holly; cousin to the thistle.
20210613_133234.jpg
And to add some sunshine, a coreopsis.
20210613_133209.jpg
and finally, one bloom from the aquilegia.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Oh my! Such dreams! Hopefully they were all adorable little Gremlins though!
That little baby settled right in. She owns the catio now? She looks like she does. She is a precious one and she knows she is in the best place a kitten could ever find. Smart kitty!

strider strider rose👍 :heartshape:

rubysmama rubysmama I know that sounded scared but at the time I was mad at the person about bothering cats so.... lol
Home Alone! Kind of. I should have taken pictures. I had this whole place secured. All the bells and Whistles. Imagine a string attached to all the metal coat hangers, bells, wind chimes or anything that would make noise that you have in or outside of your house. Lol I had wooden TV tray tables balanced at the end to make a loud crash by the door. Bubble wrap along the floor. Pop, pop, pop! They never had a chance to come close without waking the neighborhood. There was more but isn’t it nice to know that sometimes the simplest things can solve a problem?

M maggiedemi The words here that manage to carry meaning to anyone ARE meant for them. From my heart, don’t give up if any other choice remains.;):heartshape:

N NY cat man Wow! I wouldn’t know which way to look in your garden! Gorgeous in every direction. You have such a wide variety there. I do love that Clematis. That’s an older variety isn’t it? Little bells. So.... I know your name isn’t Mary but this came to mind any way. How does your garden grow? Any cockle shells? :) I have a feeling you might have something called Cockle shell! Are there garden tours around there? If not, there should be!

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Agreed! Flowers and smiles here!

jefferd18 jefferd18 It really is good to have her back!

tabbytom tabbytom We both enjoyed those photos!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I always smile when I see you too! A human flower!
