Beautiful quail! Thank you for sharing that!
Yes, that little panfur needs help STAT. *PRAYERS* for her and for her to let Todd and the medical people help her.
Jcatbird The first place I lived at when I was small had a jasmine back fence, too. I have some here that's blooming right now, too. Coast-to-coast jasmine! I wish it would perfume the hearts of people. I'm at a total loss to wrap my mind around what is wrong with so many people. I don't think of them as people, but as soulless devils because that's what they are. I know they will face Justice in time, but I pray every moment of every day for them to be STOPPED from harming the most beautiful and beloved of all living beings! I was broken-hearted to see that Priscilla Chan, "Mrs. Mark Zuckerberg", posted about a feral cat taking a baby chick their kids had. She didn't say anything bad but I could tell she considered this a problem rather than a failure on their part for not keeping the chick in a safe place. So I posted back, explaining about its being natural, about needing to take personal responsibility for the situation in future, and about cats being an asset to communities. Who knows if she'll read it and/or if she'll actually think about it. They have a dog; Zuck grew up with dogs and cats. So IDK what their feelings are about cats or if they're educated about responsible care of managed colonies and community responsibility toward them.
I also had another shock while watching, "Crikey! It's the Irwins!" on Animal Planet when Terri Irwin mentioned that dingoes, which are Australia's coyotes, "keep feral cat numbers in check" as if that's a good thing, which it isn't. Australia has a policy of warfare on feral cats in the worst possible way, but Terri is an American by birth and worked in animal advocacy before meeting Steve, so I thought she was sensitized to the plight of feral cats. She didn't say anything more, either, but just saying what she said not only made me very uncomfortable, it communicates a very negative message to viewers, many of whom are kids, I'm sure.
So these two very influential people are NOT sending good messages, on top of all the misinformation and terrible policies in place regarding cats. Humankind is not advancing, but backsliding, clearly.
Yeah, if you had an aerial conduit from the greenhouse to the cat room, it might be effective; but you have many other ways for Thrasher to come in. *PRAYERS* for her to follow one of them, quickly.
