My Feral And Rescued Cats

Oh, dear. If she isn't here by tomorrow, I'm going to be a bit frantic.

So sorry everyone. It’s been a little crazy here. Smokey has needed a bit more attention. That coupled with a sick human friend and setting up Thrasher traps just wore me down. I got bitten by something too and apparently had a small reaction to it. I am better though.

The little spare time I had was spent sleeping with Smokey.

Right now I am sitting behind the cat room door to wait and see if meat will lure Thrasher. The night vision on the cameras isn’t clear but I may have spotted her. I’m not sure where she was going but I was hoping she would loop around to here. I am finding indications of cats in more than one place so I have no idea where I should even be trying to trap. Tripod is on the front porch right now!!! I can only tell it is him because of his previous injury.

Ran out and gave him something to keep him away from here. This is so frustrating trying to keep neighborhood cats from scaring Thrasher away. I have been trying to be totally silent and just wait. BJ had to be shut in a carrier for the moment because he makes so much noise if I come out without him. I thought I had the timing down but tonight the cat that I think is Thrasher showed up much earlier. I have been seeing cats for 9:30 until about 12:30. In between is the possum and last night a raccoon. I found a way to keep the possums away (fish based plant fertilizer) but now I have to research raccoon dislikes. Raccoons probably like fishy smells. Lol Mr. Possum now stays pretty much where I want him. He has his own environment set up to keep him happy. I have also learned how to get the buzzards to leave when I need them to go. It is probably a short term solution but at least it helps now. They roost nearby but they want to eat everything! Lol They recognize when I am putting food out so it was becoming a problem and I don’t want to accidentally trap Damsel bird again.

Needless to say, I am being pulled in many directions right now. If only I could quadruple myself for a little while. Lol
I’ll try to be back in a little bit. I need to go put the strobe lights out to keep the owls away, but that’s another story.

rubysmama That’s so cute! An ear full? Lol Things here are , more or less, okay. Just burning the candle at both ends with Thrasher still wandering. Every day is another chance to find a way to track her and protect her while she is out there. The other kitties need me too so I am on the run.

Maria Bayote That is wonderful news about the kitties! I know it will be hard to let go but you saved each life. I know that each one that left here made me sad and left another print on my heart but I have been very fortunate. When I have gotten to see some of them in their new homes over the years, I see how the love went from my heart to many others. The joy the kitties give has multiplied into many lives. The prints are shared among many. They leave a path from one heart to another and we all become connected.

BellaGooch I am okay. Just not enough of me to do all I want to do. I have had to focus on Thrasher and Smokey along with a human friend. Sleep, eat and attend to the others here too. Lol.

tarasgirl06 Thank you too. I guess you probably know where my heart is right now. Every second spent on kitties for the moment but also needing rest. A human friend needing prayers too.

Mamanyt1953 So sorry. I just could not be here for a bit. Smokey has some issues and the nights have been hers. I watch the cameras as she snuggles. Time is not with us right now.

Lari Thank you! I am always lurking somewhere but , as you said, torn in many directions right now. I am still working to bring Thrasher back. I believe I have spotted here a few times but she is on the run. Little more than a flash on the cameras. I believe it is her and I believe that if I am patient and diligent, I will track her down. Protecting her until then is my big worry. I think I have placed all the protective measures possible ,so now I can focus more on waiting and watching as she begins to feel that she is safe outside. I will be wracking my brain for new ideas too. For the moment I am trying to keep the property as quiet and undisturbed as possible. Hopefully I will be able to find her soon.

You would think he would go straight for the treats but he went for the toys!

After seeing there were toys for all, he started distributing them to the others. He such a good boy to share.

Bonjure and Muffin caught the first two.

It’s for me? Yay!

Whistle was working hard to do the job.

He was very careful when picking the toys up.

He may have sampled them a bit too. Lol

They deserved to be fully appreciated with head rubs.

But each was handed out. (Pawed out? Lol)

Awww, Whistle, you're such a great guy! Everyone is enjoying the beautiful toys strider rose has so kindly made and sent (I'm surprised they cleared 'customs'! )
*PRAYERS* from the heart, always, for sweet Smokey. And for you, Jcatbird , and for Thrasher, and for everyone at Chez Catbird!
When you truly love everyone, they know it and things just tend to fall into place and go right a lot of the time because of this. It's not surprising that the birds are cooperating. They know that this work is very important. Thrasher needs to come back to her family! and be safe.
*PRAYERS* also for your human friend, Jcatbird . Sometimes it seems like the weight is almost more than we can bear. We're told that we won't get more than we can bear, though. And we're still here.

My thoughts is that it is best to leave it out for now, until these coyotes can be relocated away from the colony. I mentioned in the other thread about I woman I know whose cats were getting attacked by Coyotes. Ever since she started feeding the Coyotes, there were no more attacks on the cats. Not everyone wants to do that, so relocation is best for them. Praying for Todd and the kitties.

Friday. No critters were harmed. Once baby birdies and bunnies start appearing Gypsy will not be allowed to stalk. Except for bugs, always open season on bugs
