tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Lol Anything can happen when you’re nappen’! Yes! Especially here! I think they will share. That’s sort of a given here.

I may have found a flooring alternative that is safe. Not sure yet though. Still in that battle!

BellaGooch BellaGooch I am so glad to hear a laugh! Thank you!
I am hoping that M maggiedemi will be around soon.

I forgot to post these. I drove down to the river because I heard it is rising and may top the bridge. That happens at times and the people living along there all have boats to use to get to where they park their cars. Still, I may need to go shopping in the other direction if I get a sunny day. Lol The houses there are all on stilts but the water is flowing rapidly and it is high.

Looks like BJ has a catterfly! That is a very pretty one, BJ -- you deserve your own toy!
Hoping the river doesn't rise so high. I was thinking of a friend I have lost touch with -- she and her family live in Bayou La Batre, AL and I was talking with her in the aftermath of Katrina. She said her grandfather's shrimp boat ended up in a tree. It was a terrible, terrible time. Other friends in St. Rose, LA had one room destroyed, but the rest of the house was okay and she said they were staying. As climate change worsens, though, more and more locations are becoming unlivable.

It seems I know so many who are working through things lately. I just got to talk to my Dad. As most of you know, I nearly lost him lately but he is getting stronger. We talked longer than we have in awhile and I am so grateful for that opportunity. It kept me thinking about others. This is for my sister in law. Sung by a Texan and posted with my thoughts of another from Texas.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Oh no! I didn’t mean to bring tears. There is magic in stars and rainbows. I’ve seen it and I have it on good authority that no matter what direction we take, we do find that rainbow connection. How do I know? I saw the sign showing me! Any direction will take us there. Up one road or back on another.

Thank you for the link of the cat proof fencing. I had forgotten about that company. I also know that burying a couple of feet of chicken wire , attached to the fence and below the fence, buried Under the dirt can keep a dog from digging under. ( four feet of chicken wire bent into an L shape, two feet on the fence and two feet below ground. Maybe not ALL dogs but it worked for me in my last house.

BellaGooch BellaGooch So true! Lol Never a dull moment here. I wouldn’t mind a few dull ones sometimes but not too many. Cat activities are too much fun!

rubysmama rubysmama I loved seeing that too! Kitties are so loving. Another toy found a loving home. Adopted by a kitty.:lovecat3::bluedragonfly: It is a wonderful gift.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Catterfly!:) I love that! Great name for the new toy.
I certainly feel for your friends in Louisiana. I have seen boats take terrible hits from storms and end up in strange places. Many of them shrimp boats. Large boats like that must either be taken out to sea during storms, tied or anchored as securely as possible or taken to far off harbors. It doesn’t always go well. How sad for them. Many who come from long generations of sea faring folks will not leave. I grew up hearing stories of family who would go out to sea during hurricanes to rescue others who did not know the risks of the area and were in floundering ships. The locals had built wooden boats especially designed for the rough seas there and they never lost a man during rescues. Or so it is said. I can’t imagine facing the swells there during a hurricane but I also cannot imagine that I could stand by and do nothing. They were brave people. That area now loses much of the land mass during storms. I have to wonder how different it is now compared to then. I do know that inlets there have moved and shifted over many generations and some are just gone. History can teach us a great deal if we remember it and learn from it. I hope we do.

Very beautiful. Every time I hear the 'Rainbow Connection' my minds-eye (and ears) go to Kermit the Frog singing it.🐸

I had intended to continue the story of the magic boxes tonight but I am taking a slight detour. I happened to catch something as it transpired. We’ll come back to our story but tonight our smiles come from a hungry unicorn. Sort of. Lol

Wanda Heart! What were you doing?

Well, Tortie helped me do it.
