Mellow Tortie? Actually dilute could be a term used but dilute in a different way. Diluted attitude. I meant calm or relaxed personality compared to Torties like Muffin who is more high strung. She may be part boxer too!

Ha! That sounds just like Maggie, but she's not a Tortie. She has punched all 3 humans, her brother Demi, a couple chickens, several neighbor cats....

Torties, tabbies, dilute or calico, identification varies in some locations. I’ll post a link to one ID guide on cat colors and patterns but opinions are not always the same. By any other name, they are wonderful! Maybe we should ask a cat! Lol

Speaking of books....The next chapter about Banjo and Froggie.
We left Banjo last night as she waited for Froggie.

Her Prince finally descended from the castle tower. Lol

Beautiful Banjo watched with anticipation as he approached.

She felt weak in the knees. ( Do cats have knees? )

She placed her head as close as she could get it to Froggie.

Then he began to serenade her.

As always, she listened intently.

The music came down from above.

But Banjo wanted more than a song.

She declared her love to him and asked him to come just a bit closer.

The handsome Prince obliged.....

And gave Banjo her kiss.

Banjo and a singing frog. Lol Beautiful music together?

I was thinking that if Maggie & Demi are siblings, then their mama feral must have been a calico or tortie! She would need both orange and black in her. The only cat with those colors is Tortie or Calico.

My childhood Calico was pretty mellow. I don't remember any attitude from her ever, but she lived outside her entire life.

There was another one that made you laugh but I can remember what it was....I made it several times. Hmmm. Oh well. I have a feeling that it will show up again. It may have been in the Bj /heart worms thread.

Cat color, pattern genetics are pretty interesting. The parent’s colors do influence the color of the kittens. It would be neat to know what Mom and Dad looked like!

I had two Calico kitties as a girl. Little One and Little Bit. Both were rescued as kittens and very, very sweet. Callie and her sisters Kelly and Phoenix are gentle too. As you know, Callie is the greeter in the girls room and helps all other to adjust and socialize. Kelly was Mom to the Gingerbread kittens. Two Calico marked and one Ginger tabby. Phoenix has a litter of babies. I’ll have to go back to check but as I recall, most were calico. The foster had Phoenix when the babies were born. All three of those sisters were born to Jazzy. Jazzy was tabby with some pale dilute markings. Much like Thrasher. Thrasher was also born to Jazzy. Lady produced a rainbow! Lol

Whenallhellbreakslose I’m glad you are enjoying the love story. Me too! It’s been so precious to watch. I will always wonder if Banjo and Froggie met before I brought Banjo inside.
I have seen some cute stuff on Dodo. I don’t know anything about it though. I have only posted on TCS but Banjo and Froggie are a handsome couple! I think they are meant to be together. Banjo has a brother, Whistle, who loves the frogs too. Mom, Misty shows great respect for them as well. Dad, BJ, isn’t so sure he wants his daughter to marry a frog. He can’t picture her eating bugs so Froggie often joins the cats in a dish of cat food. Somewhere I have a photo of that too. Lol

Banjo is great at orchestrating entertaining events here.

She made some calls....

Explained the whole concept...

Gathered her friends...

Got them excited about the fun....

Positioned them properly....

Surveyed the best placement...

Established the understanding that this is just for fun but she is still the Frog Princess...

Called all the cats. ...

Had them form a line and....

Arranged a pre Halloween Carnival and kissing booth!

Everyone got a kiss but Banjo was first in line!
Definitely entertainment for all!

As ex-ferals, they deserved to be called ‘Fur-rals’ ........does it make a point?

Digger as well as all other cats with calico coloring and tabby patterns are referred as Tabby Calico (or vice versa) or Tabico for short. Digger is a pretty girl. I have had a few Tabicos in my colony as well. They are not that uncommon. I love the combination, it's interesting.

Yes, cats get their color from their mother. I think gray is considered a form of black. So a mother with gray or black could pass on either of those colors.
