I had to go out before the storm today and laughed when I saw this. For those who are familiar with the term, speed trap.... you get the idea. The sign underneath reads 55 MPH and is the normal posting there. I don’t know who did this but obviously a real joker.

I will be going 45 there!

Unh. There is a storm here and it’s really sketchy getting a signal. Downloading photos is super slow but we’ll see if I can get it done.

I got out the catnip bubbles to share with everyone here tonight. This is a long one!

It all started with Flowers.

Catnip Flowers!
DBA50FC0-F725-4133-897B-95D695D66167.jpeg

It makes bubbles.

What are bubbles?

This. You may have to watch closely but they’ll be floating around.

Kitties! Come look!

One of the first ones landed on Misty’s nose!

Purry and Muffin went after the next ones.

Muffin won.....

Until the bubble vanished. Lol

Banjo couldn’t quite decide what to do but Smokey seemed to catch the catnip scent.

Exciting to Banjo, relaxing to Smokey.
3551621C-9148-4841-88E7-EE0CDAAA90B8.jpeg

The fan kept the bubbles airborn longer than they would have been without it.

Smokey found a way to prop up. Lol

Banjo just waited for the next one. Lol

Smell nice though!

Apparently, bubbles are pretty neat to watch.

How do they fly without wings?

Are the magic?

I think Banjo sees a fairy in that one.🧚‍♀️

Makes sense. We all know that fairy dust is magic for flying. Lol

Don’t tell Banjo. This one is magic for Kodiak!

Sooooo, where’s my fairy?

I don’t care what Banjo says, if I catch one, I’m going to eat it!

On second thought, Dolly doesn’t seem to like the taste of fairy.

I heard one land!

Maybe Banjo had too much catnip. I don’t see a fairy in there!

Those other cats have forgotten how to be feral. Before you eat anything new, you investigate it thoroughly.

You smell it before you eat it.

Lady! You’re going to wish you hadn’t eaten that!

What BJ? Eating catnip bubbles could do what?

Oh my! It’s happening isn’t it?!?!
11EBBCC1-A565-4355-9112-97B1503B9B20.jpeg

Yep! BJ was right. Always be careful what you eat or you could end up with Bubble butt!

The end!

Actually, since the bubbles are hard to see in the photos, maybe Flowers had a good question! Lol Here is a description for all kitties out there.
The bubbles may be hard to see in the photos since they are clear but they are a soap type bubble with catnip that you blow. Maybe you had something similar as a child. Here is the bottle I got the kitties this time. That are lots of brands out there. Some are better than others.

Bubble inside the black circle so everyone can see it better.
E9AC4C94-B475-4D95-9B2D-C1109D0212EF.jpeg

Catnip scent.
8BA10EB0-F622-40C7-874A-EB9D76CD0C2F.jpeg

This is the brand I used tonight. Cosmic Gold catnip bubbles.
71CB552A-6EF9-4EE8-BA4F-8B7CD0F3C938.jpeg

The wand is dipped into the liquid and then you blow through the circle. As the soap is blown, bubbles form and fly free of the wand. I’m not a kid anymore but doing this for the kitties was a lot of fun. I found myself laughing like a kid at the kitty reactions. :flail:

I thought that this might brighten your day. It is the first time I have been able to get a picture of one of Michele's moonflowers while it was still open, at least this year, that is.

From all appearances, it looks like it is a cousin to the dandelion, but I could be wrong.
Okay, I looked it up, and it actually is an Evening Primrose (Oenothera triloba)

I only got to see a half a wild cat. The back half! Maybe Lady could tell you about the rest.
That's right. Didn't my little Lady have an affair with that wild cat? She looks so innocent. 🐆

Have you ever seen roses in snow?
No. I doubt they could grow in our below zero winters. :cold:

Always be careful what you eat or you could end up with Bubble butt!
Interesting that Lady decided to wear the bubble. 🤔 Maybe I'll try those bubbles sometime and see if Demi & Maggie play with them.

N NY cat man Well purrfect timing! It did brighten my day! It’s a beautiful shade of yellow. It stormed and was fiercely dark today. The thunder still rumbles so a bright light in a garden is a welcome sight. Thank you!
I agree with tabbytom tabbytom Nice!

pearl99 pearl99 I hope you get some bubbles. It’s as much fun for us as it is for the kitties. Lol

M maggiedemi Imdded Lady did fall for the mighty wild cat. I expect he was a handsome , dashing fellow. In fact, I know he was dashing because I only saw him in motion. Lol

We don’t have snow regularly but seeing roses or palms in the snow is quite a sight. Of course the snow took a toll on the flowers in Sarah’s Garden but it recovered quickly.

I wasn’t too surprised that Lady wore the bubble. She does enjoy dressing up. I just wonder if she thought about that later when she took her bath.:kneading:

Furballsmom Furballsmom poor Poppy! No popping for Poppy! Some of these kitties aren’t thrilled when the bubbles pop. The first one sent Whistle running. I have had bubbles before but Wanda Heart has never seen them before. That should be interesting! BJ just thought they should not be eaten. Lol If one had landed as a hat, he might have given approval.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953  I know! There really was a fairy. Only Banjo would be able to show us a magic bubble fairy. In case anyone missed it......🧚‍♀️ .... and no, I did nothing to add that to the photo.:kitty: It was all Banjo. ( or maybe

M maggiedemi You are correct! That is a Callie back! Lol Fortunately for all the girls, Wanda Heart had the confidence to conquer the jelly birds. Lol Thankfully there were no fairies in those bubbles.

Since we have had Callie in the spotlight a bit lately and her arrival was slightly before I started this thread I thought I would give a bit of her background.
Her mother is Jazzy. Some of you may remember that I spent many long nights trying to convince this elder feral lady to trust me. I had seen her off and on for some time. She would come here just long enough to have her babies and then vanish with them. For a long time I wasn’t sure if Jazzy was feral or had a home because she was little more than a flash of stripes in the night. She always took her babies with her. I never knew her story but after a hurricane flooded the area one youngster, Callie, did remain. It was about the time the colony became apparent to me and she was one of the first , non kitten, kitties inside.

My first photo of Callie.
5FCE9B96-E628-4C19-AA98-112B0A4509F0.jpeg

An unexpected snowfall.
CC1816E6-E8FA-4FA8-8AFE-33E66A9F973E.jpeg

A feral Callie asks for help and allows me to pick her up to come and live inside. Still very fearful but she was blocked from entering the place she had been born and lived. The snow blocked her entrance. This was the second time a storm had evicted her from under the Gongerbread house. Cats are very much creatures of habit but they are also very smart. Time to trust the human.
88DF6599-23BD-4F52-9816-A6BDAF74F4E8.jpeg

Her mother, Jazzy returned in Spring to the place she had been coming to give birth.
9A19DBED-BBC5-4DD6-B27C-29D3E423E253.jpeg

This time she did not give birth alone. The grand feral lady also gave me her trust. Three days after this photo, Callie had tiny baby bothers and sisters.
11EF56BA-CB7E-4554-B1B3-50211BD78D25.jpeg

Callie was spayed , immunized, tested and began to socialize.
E4342626-B016-42B7-8DA5-E1DB3DF46B50.jpeg

She joined the Clowder but...
BDD937A9-B056-4D2F-AC33-7A14ABD429E0.jpeg

Decided to become a peacemaker.
B2952AAD-39CE-4AC0-8E1D-BF314ADE1EDC.jpeg

She had known Duster and others while outside.
A9004B57-AE1C-4CD8-9EC1-C0B6EE40CC1C.jpeg

She took on the role of intermediary. As I brought others in, she taught them that it was okay to trust a human.
BD179484-71DE-44ED-9239-1896093982ED.jpeg

She still retained enough of her kitten spirit to be interested in learning to play. The mirror proved to be a curiosity.
4ABD86F2-71DF-41A4-B667-A89F3B3637E9.jpeg

Alley was one of the most frightened of the ferals.
F4351532-4A5A-41F0-91F3-37307F7EE9F1.jpeg

Without Callie, I’m not sure if Alley would have ever calmed down.
757A3DAF-E9B3-4308-ADAC-8315891C41EA.jpeg

She was the first to be brave enough to sleep on top of the bed instead of under it. Lol As kitties came and then got adopted, Callie remained the companion to new kitties in the girls room rather than choosing to stay with the main group of permanent residents.
A0E67173-7E0A-4711-8C28-BEDCAB8612F7.jpeg

Even with the most recent newcomer, Callie has been my greatest helper.
B1A44211-B543-466C-88F0-BB2A286C7EEB.jpeg

She has a way of putting them all at ease here.

Her kisses are special.

More than two years after coming in, she is still learning how to enjoy life.....
B11F6BCD-8C4F-481C-B4F6-1CF1E6A74A15.jpeg

And still teaching her original colony mates to do the same.

She is teaching others and learning from others.

This is her favorite song to dance to. She claims it was written by a former feral cat. ;):happycat:

Oh no! tabbytom tabbytom ! I’ll try to
Post the song title so maybe you can look it up. It’s on YouTube lee ann womack - i hope you dance lyrics.
Here is a link to it on the music thread. Maybe you can hear it there? Thread Devoted To Sharing Your Favorite Albums And Songs - 2020
[/QUOTE]
Nope, it's unavailable :dunno:

I'm listening it on YouTube now.

I think in the hearts and minds of rescued cats, they are grateful and we can see their happiness and thankfulness of appreciation in he way they interact with us, except that they can't speak but we understand them.

Yes, they'll dance the dance of love and being close the hooman that rescued them and they are ever thankful. :redheartpump: :hearthrob: :hugs:
