tabbytom tabbytom A bit of a blooming season. It will be a while before many bloom since they have to adapt to new conditions here. I am keeping them fed and potting some up so , hopefully, they’ll be happy.

The kitties do find ways to stay busy. They keep me occupied. Lol I had to laugh at Muffin when Purry was on top of the carrier. She couldn’t quite figure it out so she finally just tucked her head back in and laid down. Purry was purring so it must have vibrated the whole carrier. :purr::flail:

I am really beaten by th heat today. It was another vet visit. We finished an hour quicker than the last one but I only took two cats this time. Flowers and Thrasher.

As I approached appointment time, both kitties were napping in a carrier... so I closed the doors and catnapped them!

The most feral of the females and the last of the mom cats to come in went for a visit.

This is not the same room where I fell asleep!

Hey Thrasher! I have suspicions about this place.

I think I’ll just go back in my carrier if nobody objects.

Well.... I object to thermometers!

Why do humans do these things? No cat would EVER do that!

Ow! I think a bee stung my behind!
52913990-194B-48A1-BB78-5C7166B59048.jpeg

I hear mom. She’ll put a stop to all this.
480C84F9-F094-4C52-A137-DD4443E55216.jpeg

Head scratching? Yep! That’s mom.
070252DF-5134-4CD9-A33B-5CAFDF8F17C6.jpeg

Thank goodness.

I need head scratching too Mom!! Let’s do it at home though!

Both the girls behaved beautifully. There is a huge advantage to having them use these carriers as a safe haven. I didn’t have to coerce anyone into a carrier and , although Thrasher trembled a little when we first too her out, the anxiety level quickly evaporated. Flowers and Thrasher returned to their carriers voluntarily and were comforted being there. Once home they both came out of their carriers but neither seems especially upset. Thrasher is laying nearby and Flowers is in the cat room taking a bath. BJ greeted them both with a kiss. Lol Hopefully they will both go back into their carriers after I clean the vet smell off of them.

I am going to go drink a glass of cold water and then go wash carriers! Lol

Have a great night everyone! :heartshape:

jefferd18 jefferd18 Of she travels to another place quickly with her babies,?she’ll be focused on them for now. I know it’s hard to pass them on but unless you have room for her as a house kitty, it’s the thing a rescuer must make themselves do. I’m glad she and babies are okay. If she is still there under the sink, you can try putting newspaper, paper towels or another towel further back for her to choose to lay on, or not. A shallow box lid might work too. We can only offer. Hang in there! You did a great job with her and the little ones. Keep us posted please.

Yes, but she doesn't know that. I take in rescue parrots and one of the things that makes them check out mentally is being passed from one person to the next.

Now she had the babies out in the middle of the floor. They sure are cute and some of the smallest newborn kittens I had ever seen. I wonder why my vet was off by 15 days.

Thank you, my friend. =^ ^=

jefferd18 jefferd18 I do know about Parrots and other birds showing their despair. I have seen cats stressed out by changing humans a lot too but , a human that understands and loves them can get through to kitties. When I was nine my mother went to visit someone. I was bored and they offered to let me visit a cat they had taken in from another person. They claimed she was not very social though. Wrong! When they checked on us, we were laying together in their bed and snuggling. She was a full blooded Manx and unable to breed so, passed around. When the person saw her curled up with me they recognized that she felt okay with me and they offered her to my mom. She lived the rest of her life with me as my best friend and I cherished her. She stayed bonded to me and later , interested in others. She seemed happy. We had another cat later with kittens and she often helped with those kittens and she adored them! We do what we can.

A smile for tonight? I have seen cats play with many things but this was a bit of a surprise. Cats that start out life outside really appreciate the smallest of pleasures in life!

I was cleaning the back doors and windows of..... well....... frog residue. Lol Imagine what the cats would say!

Hey! Froggie meant to put that there!

Whistle look! Mom is spraying rain at the doors!

How is she doing that? ( Inside the black circle is spray from a hose.)

It’s only raining on the door!

It looks fun but I know better than to try and grab it. It’s wet stuff isn’t it?

I just figured the cats would run from water. Kitties are so smart!! No one tried to bite the spray the way a dog would but they certainly enjoyed being dry in a waterfall.

BTW it rained after this. Naturally! The frogs are back to decorating the door. :flail:
Have a great night everyone! :heartshape:

Furballsmom Furballsmom Ahhhh, yes. Resi do. 🐸
I haven’t found a litter box that Froggie likes which is probably for the best since I can’t find a weeeeee little tiny scoop. Banjo has tried to tell him to cover things but.....he keeps asking for TP. I guess every Prince wants a throne.

I met someone very nice today! Welcome to Jasper and family! Meet some of the feral and rescued kitties. Banjo is the one who is in love with the frog. The story goes that she tries to turn him into her Prince with a kiss. The expression on the face of a cat speaks volumes. Below is my interpretation of Cat speak.

It’s time to check in with the ferals. What’s happening in the cat room? Let’s ask the cats.

It looks like Kodiak is “window shopping” for a Prince while Flowers observes, Whistle is watching the human, Thrasher is catching some cool air from the AC, Smokey is taking a bath, Muffin is hoping to pounce on someone ( but hiding in plain sight lol) and Banjo is wondering about something.

What’s up Banjo?
Where’s Froggie?
A237EAA9-B544-4EF7-A301-AA6E2433A0B3.jpeg

I haven’t seen him Banjo. Maybe mom washed his scent off the door and he doesn’t approve.
F5FEC54B-CDD2-45D3-A058-4F5613F431F1.jpeg

That’s terrible. Mom is always washing our scent away and I don’t like it. Everything should be Mitsy scented!

Where is Froggie? Only the Shadow knows!

I’m a smart girl. I can figure this out.

Froggie! You were there all the time!

Hi Froggie!
868037E1-EF91-4FEB-BA25-12833184DAD3.jpeg

I see you’ve been eating supper. Your friends are helping you to redecorate the door? Stop. I want a kiss!
F559DB77-3F6A-4DC0-9F84-DF8CED62F0F4.jpeg

Unh! Let’s cover that up!
E5253052-FF54-4490-82B2-E1BCC1EDEBF3.jpeg

Mom! Froggie is recycling! I think I’m gonna faint.
F1615975-E47A-4AD4-9D74-A125D9DE1AE6.jpeg

The drama cat continues! Never kiss a frog while he is redecorating the door .

Banjo never fails to leave me laughing. She didn’t faint but she did try to cover for Froggie! :flail:

Have a great night everyone! :heartshape:

Not sure if Froggie would use it, but maybe you need one of these. LOL.

That is hilarious. I have never seen one like that! I think Froggie would be honored.
I have to say, this thought came to mind, instead of saying “Excuse me, I need to powder my nose”, it looks like someone is potty training a child so..... are they being taught to say, “ excuse me but I must go and feed the frog!” :eek2: I think I would never get Banjo out of the bathroom! She would probably guard the frog and refuse to let humans in! She would give new meaning to hugging the porcelain throne.
That appears to be Tigger and Winnie the Pooh behind it. :flail:i don’t know how you find these things but I nearly missed the couch as I sat down because I was laughing so hard.

If I fell, the cats would say......

Just act like you didn’t see her fall. I know it was funny but Humans are always embarrassed when they miss a jump. They always pretend they meant to do that. ;)

BOY DID I MISS YOU GUYS! I quite hitting "purraise" two pages ago because my finger is aching...I've had LOT of catching up to do on the site, but I DID READ EVERYTHING! I'll start tomorrow fresh!

My closets are all now organized, and my pantry has new shelving and is cleaned out and organized...WAY PAST TIME! On a bottom shelf, way in the back, as I was clearing out and getting ready to install the new shelving, I found a bottle of BROWN ketchup. The expiration date was 2015! SO...I sorted EVERYTHING, got rid of some more expired stuff, and replaced it all with the newer items in back!

No need to hit any buttons but very glad to see you back. It must be nice to be finished with that and have everything sorted. I love redoing things to get organized. It always feels so great to be able to put my hands right on anything I am looking for or need.
I just hope you left a spot on one shelf for Hekitty supplies or her catnaps. Lol

Some days I am very busy and when it comes near time to post, I may wonder what I can possibly add to the thread BUT the kitties always give me an answer. Lol Just as I was about to sit down and eat my supper, Bonjure came running up with a distressed look on his face. At first I wondered if the fire works outside had scared him but then....... he turned around.:running::barfgreen: The fireworks may have scared the fluff out of him!
I put my meal away for later. Bonjure had a fluff problem on his bottom! Ewwwww!
Bath time immediately!

How to give a giant fluff boy a bath! A washtub filled with soapy warm water. A sprayer set very low so it’s not noisy or scary. I put on a very think and padded coat. I drape a towel over one shoulder. I hold the kitty with his fave towards my back and lower him , back legs first, into the water while reassuring him in a soft voice. “It’s a bath Bonnie. It’s okay. I’ve got you.” As I lower him into the water I am giving rubs and scratches to his favorite spots. Easy? Nope! Lol I certainly got reminded of my hurt shoulder. He’s a very strong kitty and he wanted out! I suppose when your fluff tail absorbs five gallons of water, you kind of get that sinking feeling!

Poor Bonjure. Oh yeah, gloves are great, especially when it’s something caught in the fur!

The instant of release. Bonnie blur.
AB1A056E-3185-4C01-9DCF-E037B99097A0.jpeg

Oh my gosh. Mom! What did you do to my tail? Where’s my fluff?
AA6DDBFC-35E3-4211-8665-26F038F64E8D.jpeg

A good ten gallons traveled with him when he left the bath. Lol
9AC20459-48A1-4357-AB4A-578468B3A6C8.jpeg

Rinsing well is always important. This is the bath that comes after getting a bath. Lol He won’t be dehydrated!
19C29407-33AF-4D5F-9DFA-8D4A4105CA82.jpeg

He is indignant.
DB01AE74-B1D0-433F-A21C-35B4C9941C21.jpeg

I got as much towel dried as he would allow. He’s a clean kitty again!
19E5A016-78DA-44EB-A017-B8CBCEBE8083.jpeg

Now I have a large, damp mop cat in my lap! He’s tired but okay.
A4AD196D-F2C2-4C25-AD2E-61192E4242D5.jpeg

Smells nice too!

I just have to go and mop up the trail of water he left when he leapt over me to end the bath. Next up..... human shower, then a return to supper? :flail:

Never a dull moment!

Have a great night everyone!:heartshape:

To all, Happy Fourth of July. I hope that kitties are not frightened tonight!

Furballsmom Furballsmom Thank you! If you smiled, we are happy.

It is great to have Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 back! Minus , well aged, ketchup. I wonder if it is like wine, improves with age?:barfgreen:

I had a new orchid open! It’s fairly dark where I had it protected from the sun but I grabbed a quick pic anyway. It has two more buds to open. Another CAT tleya. Lol

Very pretty Orchid. With the heat, our flowers are really starting to pop. These are some of Michele's lilies. We had an issue with scarlet Lily beetles, but between neem oil and diatomaceous earth, we seem to have beaten them back, at least for now

N NY cat man I love those! I’m glad you beat the bugs. Scarlet lily beetles? I don’t know those. I hope I don’t meet them either! They sound pretty. Lol Are they really scarlet?
Yes, they are, and they are voracious eaters. A couple of her plants have had almost half of their leaves chewed off, and it happened practically overnight. Those nasty bugs are also known as red lily beetles or red lily eating beetles.
