rubysmama rubysmama I am always sticking the camera in a kitty face. Lol It’s a wonder they haven’t hidden it from me. Yet. Funny though, Ruby looked very happy. No sign of cat napus interruptus! I attribute that to the Ruby beauty and the skill of the photographer! I hope it was a great day.

The group of girls on top of me? Weighty is accurate. It was only four though. I was just grateful no one was on my head. Lolololol Ithink the sneezing prevented that. That’s a trick I’ll have to remember for future reference. I wonder if the cats would recognize a fake sneeze?

Tell Ruby we’re very happy she is with you now. Gotcha day was her first best day ever! :winkcat::redheartpump:

My Dad has been kind of “under the weather” so I’m later than usual. The kitties got a midnight snack! They liked getting late night yummies. It’s so nice always having someone to greet me no matter what time of day or night I come into the room. It always results in some smiles.

I MISSED YOU GUYS! I was laid low by an evil tummy virus, and kinda camped out in the bath room for four days! Better now, and back.

These cats seem very concerned about other living creatures of all kinds.
That's really remarkable, considering that most of them had to hunt for food, and lived rough for so long! Such gentle babies...they get that from their mama, you know!

Well...I have a LOT of threads to get through, trying to at least get everything read tonight, so I'll see you tomorrow!

rubysmama rubysmama I know Ruby does add the sparkle to your day. It’s just so great that you found each other. :cloud9:
Thanks about my Dad. He felt a bit better today. He had tests run and we are waiting for the results. It’s hard being so far away from him now.

surya surya Do all the babies have names?

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Oh no! I am so sorry you’ve been sick! Very glad you are recovering. Slowly and carefully.
It is pretty amazing that the kitties are so gentle. I know they had to hunt for food before but now they seem to just enjoy watching the other creatures. The way Muffin brought me that lizard instead of running from me was a huge relief. Cats are wonderful creatures. Even after all these years, they are always surprising me.

I have a question for everyone. Most of you can see things on a larger screen than I do so let’s see what you see.
What do you think the opossum is looking at?

We heard some disturbance out back tonight. It’s cold and raining so the little opossum is searching for some supper. He put his little paws up to the back door to ask the kitties to donate. Lol They looked at me!
Bj was fast asleep at the time. He has bed hair!

And he was wishing for a snack.

His gaze was fixed on the kitchen. Late night snacks mom?

All the cats reacted.

;) No problem Whistle.

I got some scraps and a banana that was past ripe and took them out to the little guy. He loved the banana! Lol He was cold and wet so maybe the food will get him through. He waddled off after eating with a full tummy.

BJ is now taking care of Whistle. He’s such a good Dad! They snuggled down together and Whistle went to sleep.

The family bond is so strong with these kitties. I love seeing father providing support and physical comfort to his son.BJ knows when Whistle is nervous and never fails him! :redheartpump:

Thank you BJ!
The possum is gone now Whistle!

Have a great night everyone! :heartshape:

just a quick note, the site isn't letting me into conversations, I'll report it...
I got a very odd page when I tried to go from email into the site and a conversation. I’d never seen that before. Solid gray block the had a log in spot. Noooo! Not signing in when I know I am already signed in. I came in through another route. I did notice some hiccups earlier. Maybe they are tightening up some issues. Maintenance time.

Jcatbird, the kittens in the bathroom have not been named yet. My neighbor is keeping three more kittens for me until I get a rescue group to take them, so that is a total of seven. There is one more black kitten that needs to be caught. Wish me luck. :) My three foster kittens are Willow, Parker and Gatsby.

OH, Whistle, I promise that a 'possum won't hurt a cat! They are actually very gentle. All those teeth are just for hard-shelled bugs and snails. But they do look a bit alarming, if you aren't used to them. At some point, I'll try to get a picture of Aussom the 'Possum to show you! He eats with my outsider kitties sometimes. He's very polite, and waits for them to finish their meals.

'Possoms are nature's janitors. A few years back, the Department of Environmental Conservation took a road-killed deer carcass out in the woods and set up cameras to record who came to dine. The result? 'Possoms did most of the clean-up, beating out coyote, even.

Uhm... I see a black cat, or a dark shadow of a cat. Is there something else? :dunno:

rubysmama rubysmama I am still trying to figure out what was outside in that photo. I was looking out a rain blurred glass when I took the photo and saw that possum looking but thought it was looking at a younger possum nearer to me. When I looked at the photo , I too saw what appeared to be a black cat. I blew it up and it seemed that I could see the edge of the tarp through it though. I really don’t know if it was a shadow, cat or what! Lol It was a real question. I had taken a second photo a few seconds later but I still can determine what it was. :dunno: A fur real mystery. Lol
This is the one I posted but blown up.

If it is a kitty, I need to call the neighbor. She has a black cat but it shouldn’t be showing up here.

Furballsmom Furballsmom I have no idea! I’ve had cats sit and eat with both possums and raccoons. Between my small screen, rocky vision and the poor photo, I just can’t tell. The weird thing is that I never saw the cat shape when I was taking pictures. I only saw it when I sat down to go over the photos. I did notice the possum looking at something.

Okay.....has Banjo been kissing frogs again? Where is Froggie? We don’t need a frog turning into her Prince!

surya surya I always send you luck and well wishes. Catch the black kitten! The neighbor is helping? That’s great! Very good names for those babies. My foster friend near here that rescues texted me today. She’s running out of ideas for names! :) We know how that can be! I sent her some suggestions. She had actually used some of the ideas already. The ones she liked the best were Picot, Tassle, Chantilly, Fringe, Chenille etc. types of lace and trim. They are kittens with Calico markings but mostly white. I know you understand the challenge. Willow, Cypress, Banyan and Mimosa are some of the others I had texted. I like those.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I know! Poor Whistle. He doesn’t like anything with ears that stick up and remind him of a bunny. Or.... maybe a bunny reminds him of something else. He does like anything too wiggly either. I can only guess that he had some encounters before I caught the litter. Banjo was always the most courageous of the two but they were the most difficult of the litter to catch. Whistle is a very gentle spirit.

N NY cat man The possum beat out the coyote? I never would have guessed that. They are our little house keepers. I have found them to be fairly friendly. They aren’t aggressive. The local vultures are much more likely to stick around and make a mess. Lol Baby possums are pretty cute riding on the back of their Mom!
