I managed to be able to talk with
Jcatbird
tonight, sort of. We lost each other, but managed to reconnect. She's doing ok, still having fits with her phone/internet. HOWEVER...she was adamant about all of us keeping this thread alive, and says, "If you need to go off-topic to keep this thread going, please do! I need to see you when I'm able to read a little! LOVE EVERYONE, and will be back as soon as I can!"

If you recall I was also feeding the look-alike of Marble (the one that passed away last year before I left for a vacay). This look alike came at a time when the original Marble just pleft for the Rainbow Brdige and I was grieving. That is why I named him Marble Sr. Marble Sr. used to be a healthy, noisy cat. He would demand he'd be fed right away each time he saw me. He used to wear a collar so I assumed he also had an owner, then suddenly the collar was gone. I kept feeding him twice a day, then 2 weeks ago he was missing. Just the other day he came back, but he is in pretty rough shape. He became thin, his right eye already blind, and his left was oozing with tear-like liquid. I hand patiently hand fed him that time because he could not see the plate I placed in front of him. I was about to get back to him outside to contain him in a crate and bring him to the vet when he disappeared again, until this morning he was not at my front steps. I am heartbroken. Did he just come back to say his goodbyes? He came to me at a time when i just lost my Pepsi and Marble, and he left -- just like that. I hope he returns, but it has been the second day.
If he had an owner (as he used to have a collar) then just abandoned him, I do not know how these people can stomach that. If he still has owners and no idea what happened to him, I just hoped that he was just kept indoors. Nothing like this should have happened. Life of an outdoor cat is tough, and I have seen a lot and felt a lot of heartaches, just like many of us here who has their cat colonies.
Incidentally, I am again going for a vacay to my home country. This always happens when I am leaving. I may be quite busy in the next several days or weeks, but just the same - I wish you all happiness, safety and good health. Will drop by from time to time. Regards and kisses to the kitties.

I couldn't resist posting this. Every time I ever packed a suitcase, I had one of my kitties jump in it. Thank goodness I never had a stowaway problem.

i also had a long chat with jcatbird last night . she has been sort of busy with things that are going on around her. the air quality seems to be slowly getting a little better there . she and her clowder wish everyone well
Mine are blooming too. No snow here. But that could certainly change.
Thanks for another update. Good to hear things are getting better there. Hopefully she'll be able to get online one of these days, even if just long enough to come here to TCS, and say hello. It's not the same without her.

Thank you for posting pictutes of the cherry blossoms. I worked in DC for 42 years and they were breathtaking. Everyone would complain about the tourist that they would bring but I did not mind because they were so beautiful. I love the one of the sunrise.
new update on jcatbird : i got to talk to her last night a good long time on the phone ! she told me that there was a controlled fire burning somewhere in her area but shes doing the best she can . she has called her phone company and they didnt really give her a answer about her phone so its a wait and see with that. she and her clowder say hello to you all and miss you all dearly !

Those complainers would probably majorly complain about me. I would be taking a ton of pics of them.
I am glad you got to enjoy them while you lived in D.C. all those years. I would be on 
seeing those Cherry Blossom trees everyday. Just breathtaking. 
OK...Hekitty scared me to death. I was sound asIeep, and I hear "MEKMEKMEKMEKMEK"! Jumped from the bed, ran out into the halIIway, and there she stood, like nothing was going on. Checked her over, gave her a kiss, and went back to bed. JUST got to sleep, and "MEKMEKMEKMEKMEK!" Came SCREAMING out of the bed, ran in the office, and she had a claw hung on the fabric of a throw pillow, and thought she was dying. I carefully detached her claw, and she got offended because I DARED to touch her paw!!!

A couple of days ago, Stretch gave out with one of the most Gawdawful sounds; kind of like what two cats make just before the fur starts flying for real. Bashful was startled from her nap and just stared at him. The thing is, he was sound asleep. I wonder what he was dreaming about.
