I envy those who can 'dress up' their cats. I would need to have the blood bank on speed dial if I attempted that with any of ours. That's okay, though; they look good au natural.
:dancingblackcat:Au natural is more than enough for me and my cats! They may look cute but I'm not keen on dressed up cats - and it seems a shame to take advantage of very compliant cats by training or forcing them to wear a pullover! Mine are not compliant (a cone is enough torture to last a lifetime) and are fortunately not sphynx cats so they don't need an extra coat anyway. Saves me some work and, what does it say in the Bible? "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."
Sorry, it must be the religious holiday, November 1, All Saints Day, which made me think of that!
We could say: "Consider your kitties how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that [famous actress or model] in all her glory was not arrayed like one of these".
:clapcat: :clapcat::clapcat::clapcat::clapcat::clapcat::clapcat::clapcat:That's agreement from my present 8 cats (incl. fosters)!
And :clapcat::clapcat: 2 from the feeding station!

Agree 100%, gilmargl gilmargl ! No human could ever touch a cat for beauty, grace, style...cats don't need any enhancement!
But, Jcatbird Jcatbird , dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 and anyone else whose cats will consent, they do look very cute! "Too cute to spook," eh, Jcatbird? I agree! Hoping your foot is improving/healing daily and sending up more *Prayers* for you, the Chez Catbird clowder, and your brother.

:compsurfing: Except for sometimes being bribed to wear a costume for a photo shoot lasting less than 10 minutes at a time she doesn't wear outfits.:paperbag:Some photos have even been ones where I just lay them over her as she lies there as I did for her princess photo last year.:camera: Even though she has a fluffy fur coat of her own Gypsy welcomes her warm sweaters worn over her harness when we go outside in the cold.❄🌨🌬⛄

 Mom was at Lowes Hardware about 3wks ago taking pictures of the Halloween town they had set up and just couldn't resist bringing home the Black cat chorus as an early treat for us. Oh No! I just realized by looking at the larger photos on my chrome book rather than the smaller ones on the phone that the witch is missing her baton Catdad snagged the scene the other day and it must have broken off. Fingers crossed I can locate it.

Hello Jcatbird Jcatbird just want you to know that you and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.

Here is something I posted in the funny pics thread that I posted last week regarding Kitty's reaction to her Halloween costume. I just love the expression on this kitty's face. Just precious. :redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump:

gilmargl gilmargl I agree that cats are beautiful just as they are.I’m sorry you felt distressed at seeing cats in harnesses or other items. I don’t think anyone on this thread would condone keeping a cat in restrictive, uncomfortable or harmful clothing. I’m actually glad you brought this up. We have discussed it before and I feel I should stress that some of the photos here have items drawn or edited in. Also, Maybe it would help if I explain to you that here, many places require, by law, that cats cannot free roam and must be on a harness and leash. Besides that, living in a very buggy and wet environment, a couple of layers of fabric protect them. I live in mosquito, wasp and hornet land. BJ was a feral rescue who contracted Heart Worms from mosquito bites. His life was at risk. I do use parasite preventatives but mosquitos carry more than parasites so any protection is a plus. I would also like to reassure you that no cat here has been trained to wear anything. If they shake off or dodge the harness the first time it is attempted, it is not used on them. Lady is a rare girl and actually enjoys her harness. She desires to go outside but often is startled by the neighbors and I finally concluded that it gave her some measure of security in the way a thunder shirt works on nervous puppies. Lady is also a bit fussy about her fur. She does not like getting mud or water on her and the full harness, as opposed to the corded type, keeps her from getting messy, wet or cold. I did try the corded type of harness but she easily slipped out of it. I can only keep that one on her if I put something over it. I assure you that if she did not like having it on, she would never be coerced into wearing anything. The cats here are always getting into things that belong to the human. My glasses, my keys, my clothes, hairbrush and various other items. I have often had to search out things but also, if the cats are happily engaged in play, I encourage that and enjoy the play with them. There is never a dull moment around here. Lol

With the pictures of Precious, he was playing in a paper bag and I just added the Octopus shaped legs and handed the bag back to him until he finished playing with it. He put his head through a hole he had made and he was having a grand time. I just happened to catch him in the act. That type of thing is common around here. It’s a rare moment when all the house is quiet and no cat is in play.

Banjo is a show off. She gets into everything! It’s just her nature to stick her head in things to investigate or to see how things work. Sometimes that results in some interesting events. She takes things apart and moves everything! I bring in something and she claims it. She carries my keys around, gets into my billfold and owns the phone. New socks? She runs off with them. Freshly washed curtains? She is instantly draped! (BTW the recent picture of her with a nurse hat , the hat was just drawn on the pic with a stylus and not real BUT if she found one, chances are she would stick her head in it. I am always on watch with these kitties. Banjo is curious about everything!! Banjo has stashed far too many of my things in her carrier or under the sofa! Lol New shirt missing? Banjo!!!!!!!!!!! Having toy mice or balls or springs just doesn’t seem to be enough for Banjo. It can be a challenge to keep her engaged so she is not bored. She completely disassembled her ball trac toy!! I have to think outside the box to find things that she enjoys playing with. Some are unconventional but if it pleases her, I am grateful.

Kodiak usually tries to mimic whatever Banjo does. If there is something they can get into, they are in it!

I have been ever present with the Clowder which means I see a lot of activity. I keep a camera at hand and have documented as much of their lives as possible. Each cat has their own unique purrsonality, likes, dislikes and their stories have been shared at length from the day they were pulled to safety.,Each and every one holds my heart and was rescued at some peril. I would never put restrictions on the happiness they have now. Every life counts. I hope this clarifies things a little and you understand that if Lady or any other cat here wants to go out in the sunshine, they must be in a harness that is secure. If she is caught free roaming, the county will confiscate her and the end would not be good. There is also the risk of human predator and animal/ bird predators. Many of us in this country face the same thing and those with sick kitties must be even more cautious. It would be best if we lived in a safe place where kitties could run free but, sadly, that is not possible here.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 As said, nothing is more beautiful than a cat being a cat. In homes of active ones, we are blessed with beauty or heart, mind, spirit and body. :heartshape:

As for my foot…. still working on it. Still waiting for things to progress for my brother. Thank you for the hopes and prayers.,

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 That little cat chorus scene is cute. So sorry the piece broke! I hope you find it and can repair it.
I do understand the trick of laying something in place for a photo rather than getting stink eye. Nothing is worth stink eye! I also understand about keeping Gypsy safe. I know that besides the weather there, being harnessed and unable to run around freely keeps her safe from the coyotes there.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote I think both photos are more than decent! That is so precious the way each one is on a step. How did you get them to do that? All precious! Hugs back along with purrs and pets!

N NY cat man Lol Speed dial is a good idea if you try! I wouldn’t even attempt to harness one of the Bengal boys!! Actually, if I tried to take them for a walk, I think they would be taking me for a walk instead!! Actually, I don’t think I can dress any of these cats if they don’t have an interest in something. Lol Feral instincts prevail and I happen to enjoy my fingers.

Lari Lari Your kitties are nudists!

Cats do interesting things. Here are some kitties with things, in things, under things, on things, over things and all done without human assistance. (Although I may have intervened to remove things. Lol )

Lol )

gilmargl gilmargl I agree that cats are beautiful just as they are.I’m sorry you felt distressed at seeing cats in harnesses or other items.

Oh, I am sure gilmargl gilmargl knows that you would never attire an unwilling cat! And really, cats should be indoors only, anywhere on this planet, for their safety and health and our peace of mind! I was appalled to see yesterday on my twitter feed that someone is missing their black cat, whom they apparently let out daily, in the UK. Not to disparage any nation, but the UK has the same perils as the US and other nations and I will never stop advocating for keeping cats indoors! or building a secured catio or having a cat-fenced yard, or walking on a cat-specific harness and leash, like you do, Jcatbird Jcatbird !
Big Mackie in a purrito? I didn't know they offered those at the house of Big Mackie but I'm lovin' him! :flail:
Clearly, Banjo is of extremely high intelligence and scientific mind.
Hoping that all at Chez Catbird are giving you plenty of C.A.T. and making sure you take your antibiotics/keep your foot out of trouble! *PRAYERS* ongoing for you, for everyone there, and for your brother.

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Thank you for the prayers. The kitty expressions are priceless!! I’m glad you got a smile. There are way too many funny moments to post them all. Thousands. The kitties have been kind to me. Lol

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I certainly hope you are right. I don’t want anyone thinking I would condone stressing out a kitty.
Big Mackie has been feeling the change in weather and is a devoted purrito! All the electric blankets are coming out! Lol
Banjo. What can I even say about her? Lol She is always learning, curious, funny and loving. Opinionated too! She did have a Halloween costume drawn up for her. A special request. We’ll save that for tomorrow.
Just took my last antibiotic. Yay! Hoping it worked but looks like we need to do a little something more. Already scheduled. Thank you for the prayers. I am always grateful.

Fortunately that's unknown territory to me, @dustydiamond but hope someone here at TCS can weigh in on that.
tabbytom tabbytom SO RIGHT!
Jcatbird Jcatbird Big Mackie is definitely the cuddly type. *Whether he wants to be or not. I love me a big big male cat!* And beautiful Banjo! The resident genius cat of Chez Catbird! We won't be surprised if she invents some new cat products that make life easier and more lovely for felines and those who love them, will we?
*PRAYERS* and best thoughts of wellbeing, wellness, recuperation, comfort and back-to-normal for you and your poor foot!
