My post tonight is done to honor the love given to and from Burdock.

For those who do not know, Lady has always meowed loudly and taken her stuffed toy baby to any creature she felt was in need. I have tried many times to catch this on camera with limited success. Many times she took her baby to the door to creatures that were outside. In particular, a few young kitties. She brought them to my attention by her actions so they could be brought into the Clowder. In particular, Wanda Heart. For the first time, she did this in full view and allowed me to watch the whole thing.

Lady meowed loudly from her high perch on the bookcase. She did it until I came to see what she was doing.,

@dustydiamond1 Besutiful sunset! I always feel better when looking at the sky.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Mackie knows he likes stuff from a spoon. Lol Otherwise, I could not have tricked him. The meds were diluted by something yummy. Normally I just tuck things in his food but he was holding out yesterday for a treat. Very smart cat!
I agree that no generation should grow up under a could of generalizations. I know many amazing young people.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I saw that Chewy has a compounding pharmacy now.:yess: Transdermal is a great idea!

rubysmama rubysmama Hey! Maybe that would work with Ruby! Worth trying! I think the kitties see us eating that way and like to do what we do. I started this with favorite foods and they know it means a treat and is special.
Yes! How did we not get sick from raw eggs? Lol I never did either.:dunno:

strider rose strider rose That is really funny! Do I get a flying broom with that?

tabbytom tabbytom Hmmmm. You may have solved a mystery. We didn’t get sick from raw eggs because our mothers tricked us! There was medicine in that batter! :flail:Mom told me that the bitterness was just a bit of unblended bakers chocolate!

@dustydiamond1 I love that frog picture!

What a lovely and sweet Lady to be so thoughtful of others in need! My mom would have loved her lamb. She had a "thing" for them. She had one that "baaaaaaaaa-d" and every time I'd visit she'd stick it in my face and it would "baaaaaaa!" It was annoying. We have that same stereo, btw. Is your CD player still working? Mine isn't. But it's in the office with the radio on, all day, every day.
Yeah, this generation definitely sees what's happening. How could they not? And they know it's sink or swim right now -- no wiggle room. I often wonder what people who have kids think those kids' lives will be like in the future. Do they really think about this? Probably not. I know I wouldn't want to subject someone blameless and innocent to what is coming.
I used to love licking the spoon and the bowl, too, and never suffered any ill effects. And baker's chocolate is my favorite. No sugar, thanks.
I notice you have a book called KOVIL'S BOTTLES. One of my landlords was named Kovil and it's the only other time I've ever seen that name, though it's probably not uncommon in Sri Lanka.

::takes notes for future dessert hoarding reference::
It worked until we were old enough to go hunting for dessert we knew was in the house !

Straight from Lady and her lamb of love.:lovecat3:🐑
Definitely a smile on reading this :).

I often wonder what people who have kids think those kids' lives will be like in the future.
I think of it often for my daughter, and that's her main reason for not wanting to have kids. She says if she changes her mind she'll adopt.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words of sympathy at this time of loss. Although the hurt won't be going away anyway soon, still, it helps. It also helps when I can look up and see such a scene as provided by Digger and Stretch.

Although the hole left by Burdock is there, this helps to fill it; if only partially. Thank you all again.

N NY cat man Living in a multicat family not only gives multiple cats love, good care, and safe haven, it also gives us comfort even during the most difficult times. And we know that even with a loss, we need to keep giving the rest of our furmily this love, good care, and safe haven, along with an extra helping of reassurance. Much empathy for you and your furmily!:grouphug:
So glad to read this, pearl99 pearl99 -- and sharing your daughter's mindset for the same reason since I was small and read about ecology, overpopulation, feline overpopulation and other truths. Giving huge props to her and to everyone who is deciding not to have kids!

strider rose strider rose So I can fly? Uh oh. Banjo will be taking the broom!!!! :flail:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Your mom baaaaaad you? Lol Moms do stuff sometimes! I am sure I must have done something similar to annoy Sarah. Lol
Same stereo? The CD player is iffy. Tape player too. The radio is great though. That’s what I use too.
I’m sure that parents who love their children do think about the future and worry but try to plan for it. Try to prepare them. I worried too. It was a generation of bombs, war and drugs. I think we all worry about what comes next. I just remain hopeful that some in the next line are the ones who turn everything around for our world. We need some who can act as hero, heroine, great conservationist, great leaders and problem solvers. Hope. Hope.:heartshape:
Bakers chocolate! Lolololol My mom thought I would quit asking for a piece if I tasted it. Not! I loved it!
I’ll have to check that book. I think it is Kovel. The Kovels wrote a lot about many antiques. I have a few of their books. I don’t know where they came from originally but I bet you can look them up online.

pearl99 pearl99 Your mom was very creative! Lol I never would have thought of a washer or dryer for hiding treats. Maybe I can use that for cat treats and catnip!:bicolorcat:
I think that fear of the future affects many of us. Adopting is admirable. So many need homes and love!
Very glad you smiled at Lady and lamb. Me too. She is such a loving cat.

N NY cat man I have some holes too. They are becoming scarred over and filled with the pieces of heart donated by other kitties. It looks like Digger and Stretch are working on trying to do some healing. Beautiful picture of them that shows pure love. :grouphug2::redheartpump: We are all here for you, Michelle and the kitties.

tabbytom tabbytom I can definitely tell you that I do as I please to please the cats! Lol No hooman will stop me from working to please the cats. The men who know me have already accepted that. Love that cat’s expression!

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose Funny reply! Lolololol

This is what happens when you have party crashers. Someone always crashes.
97B7305E-071B-470B-AE7B-3520B8C63D29.jpeg

Lol The party ended with all cats unharmed. Prints may have been a bit embarrassed but he claims he meant to flip off the bed. Lol
It’s nice to see interaction between the kitties. The lattice panels have really worked out well. The kitties come and go in all the rooms a lot more now. As they please! Lol No growling or hissing happened and the party was a success! :bunnydance:

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 , did you quote me? I don't see anything  :dunno:
Ummmmmmm...I don't remember? We'll blame the stroke. In fact, ANY TIME I do something odd, even for me, we'll blame the stroke. We'll just say, "Oh, Mamanyt had a stroke moment," and move on.

I love seeing the interaction between the various kitties.

It was a surprise to see Mountain Bear and Blue show up at the party! Guess they couldn't convince Goldie to tag along.

I was just thinking the same thing, rubysmama rubysmama about the guys! We don't get to see them often. Glad the PAWty was a big success, Jcatbird Jcatbird and a good time was had by all ("rompout rolling! uncontrollable purring! wild pouncing!") I see Prints presiding over the merriment. Yes, those were wild times, weren't they? Plenty of the hooman version of that going on then--and yes, every caring parent is concerned for their kids, in every time. There are dangers in all times. Never as many all together as now, though. Elvis, uncontrollably purring in my lap, just loves. That's what he does. He believes in free love. And peace. *Wearing one of my Bob Marley T's*
I looked up "Kovel's Bottles" -- interesting! The Kovil I knew was (and probably still is) of Swedish descent, so I thought it might be a Swedish name until I looked it up and it's of Sri Lankan origin. *Funny, you don't look Sri Lankan!*
