N NY cat man That’s a beautiful photo! Miss Eleanor looks like she is doing fantastic along with Stretch. I’m glad Prancer and Basfull are well too. Ginger stripes “stretch” across our hearts. I’m glad you updated us. I find myself thinking about the kitties here and wondering how they are doing. It’s so good to see them!

rubysmama Dear Ruby! Our sleeping beauty. Although I always love seeing those gorgeous eyes, she looks so purrfectly content there it’s heartwarming. She loves her spot there doesn’t she? I think we need to declare today a Gingerbread day! I’m glad your friends adopted a kitty. They can have what we all have now. Full hearts.

BellaGooch I have no idea at all how that shadow happened. Lady was sitting there and facing that painting but unmoving. She had a bit of tongue showing like she does when she is really enjoying being petted. Having really good kitty thoughts? Feeling the love from elsewhere? Maybe the hand of her Fairy Catmother was casting some light across her heart. Lol Sometimes the photos of the kitties are pretty awesome!! I didn’t see that when I took the photo. I wasn’t using flash or anything that could have cast an alternate light source so..... you tell me. Lol It’s just more cat magic.
I guess you saw the photos of Banjo and the bubbles? Magic!

Wanda Heart is so cute Happy Ginger Day, everyone!

On an unrelated note, I’m planning to embroider the line “catch a falling star and put it in your pocket/save it for a rainy day” (or “never let it fade away... or both, I can’t decide, LOL) for a friend who lives in the Philippines. I constantly have that song stuck in my head and I’m constantly humming it under my breath!
Maybe that’s where Lady got some of her magic from... A star

Mamanyt1953 Accountability!! Every human is accountable. That’s what many forget, ignore or just don’t think applies to what they do or don’t do while here. It is easy to NOT do things that are in front of you. “ It’s not my problem!” “Not my Cats!” The fact is, if you are not part of the solution, you ARE part of the problem. If you see it, turning away won’t make it go away. In fact, it grows larger behind you. I wish those who ignore had enough empathy to feel it growing at their back. That might make them face the problem and reach out to heal. I’m grateful for all who DO something to help and heal.We may not take the easy path but it is the one filled with love and rewards.

Positive reinforcement is the only way I can imagine that works in a good way. Crushing leaves everything flat and lifeless.
Lady was being so cute and coy. Unhand her? Lol I’ll send her there to hold your hand. She would love staying in your lap 24/7. Maybe Maggie and Demi would join her for cuddling. A cat pile!

Whenallhellbreakslose Those closest to us seem to think that gives them leeway to say more and do it “in our best interest.” They want to save you from the work, frustration or difficulties. They may not get it at all that it is not in anyone’s best interest to ignore need or suffering. Some of us take on an extra load because others are not doing their part, for whatever reason they use to justify it. It can be hard to keep negative comments from stinging but if possible, I use them to drive my motivation to do more. We can’t do everything but we can do something! It’s all about doing what we can. Some people have lived in a protective bubble and never felt the pain of suffering. They don’t want the bubble to pop. That leaves them missing so much. If you never know night, you cannot find joy in the sun. They never truly experience the best things in life. It’s actually a sad existence for them and they can’t hear you from inside that bubble. If they ever get lucky, they will be released and start living in the light. You already live there and your heart and mind are switched to the “ON” position. Pain, work, frustration can result in relief, success and unbridled joy. Good for you!
BTW, the praise of naysayers means little. They just climbed on the band wagon because I had some success. If it had all fallen apart, they would have said,”I told you so!” Lol That would not have changed my opinion though. I would still have known in my own heart that I had done the right thing and given my best effort. Not trying at all would have been the failure in my own eyes. I can live with myself because I tried and I would have replied to them with that. We may not be able to save them all but every life counts.

tarasgirl06 Absolutely. At some point in life, those who have ignored reality are struck by it and they have the hardest time dealing with it because they have never had any practice. Those who rebuke humans who are doing good, are wrong. I am grateful for any human who puts out effort, love, kindness or resources in attempting to preserve life and protect the innocent. It would be a cruel world without them. Heros and heroines all.

Extremely wise words. Those addressed to "Whenallhellbreaksloose" especially resonate with me. I have studied the Bible and believe, with quite a few experts, that the "dominion" translated in some versions is incorrect. We are not meant to dominate. We are meant to be stewards. Protectors. Guardians. Members of other species are not ours to utilize. They are fellow living beings with whom we are directed to share this, our only home. And those Commandments? They do not only apply to our treatment of our fellow humans. They apply to our treatment of ALL living beings.
As to the bubble dwellers, I've never heard or seen this expressed more clearly and understandably -- thank you! Yes, loving others can be very painful. And no, you can't have the good without the bad, the easy without the difficult. Life is often harsh. It's how we choose to deal with it that makes the difference. We were given the great gift of free will, which can be a double-edged sword. With experience hopefully comes wisdom. And a huge part of wisdom is certainly rooted in compassion, for others and for ourselves.

I love how you mention you turned around the negativity that was directed at you and used it as motivation to keep going on and doing what needed to be done. Kudos!!! I admire people who have traits like that. They are steadfast, resilient, have a laser like focus and an inner toughness. I love people who can totally shut the nay sayers out. They were never in your corner in the first place and act as fair- weather friends when things go right in your life. I have had those types in my life. My cats have more loyalty than these shallow negative people.

BellaGooch I looked at that picture a long time too. It looks like a heart is covering Lady. I still don’t know how that happened but when magic occurs, I just enjoy it for what it is. One of life’s little happy surprises. Kind of like falling stars and rainbows. I think of that song a lot. I think putting the quote on something for a friend is a very sweet idea. I always save stars in my pocket for rainy days. Stay tuned!

tarasgirl06 Indeed the Bible does refer to how we , as humans, should treat the creatures of the earth. It is the Righteous man who cares for the animals. You shall not see the donkey or ox fallen and ignore them but, lift them up again. Every kind of creature can be tamed. If you come across a bird sitting with eggs or young, you shall not take the mother with the young. The list goes on and on. Good lessons for how we should treat life and our earth. You don’t have to believe in a specific religion to understand that these are good ways to treat every living thing.
Ah. The bubbles. Those who live in bubbles tend to float through life but are often untouched by many things. Both good and difficult. I wonder if it leaves them feeling alone or if they feel detached. Perhaps they just don’t even realize they miss things? I have compassion for them too.

Stewardship is exactly how I see taking care of any creature. I have often referred to myself as a guardian to the kitties.

Now! As promised for those who stayed tuned in.
What happens when you have a rainy day, mix in a pocket full of stars with January kisses and love returned along with love for all kitties of every color? This is the result. A pocket full
Of stars rolls back the rain.

A rainbow starts to form.

It begins to grow brighter.

As the kisses meet in the sky, the rainbow doubles.

It becomes complete and reaches across the sky.

The light doubles again as it reflects in the water. Love spreads.

The journey to follow the light begins.

The colors in the sky intensifies.

Double rainbows given as a gift of light to us all.

It widens and stretched to reach out.,

A stairway straight to the heavens.

Perhaps this little path leads to more stars?

The colors become a full arch.

Lol The sign make it clear. The rainbow goes both ways. It touches the earth and the sky.

My outing today was one I hesitated to make but if I hadn’t I would have missed the short time this brilliant and rare show was present.

From there I circled around to return home before it got dark.

I nedn’t have hurried. The stars must have kept the sky bright and....

I was grated a grand finale as I turned towards home.
